Okay, so first of all..
In this book, vampires DO NOT sparkle!

Yes their true nature is still revealed in sunlight, just in a different way.
In direct sunlight, they simply appear more 'dead' like with the extremely ashy pale complexion and dark (almost Purple) veins visible randomly on their body and near their eyes, which will faintly glow
(Red or Gold, depending on the individual vampires diet.)
Their skin being like "alabaster stone" is bull!

And they DO have fangs, but they usually only show them when
#1.Thirsty #2.Angry #3.To Show Dominance,
or #4.DRAMATICS
(some be that way *cough* Demetri & Hidie *cough* *cough*)

Their skin does feel colder then human's, but not so much that it's obvious their vampires, and only rarely feeling 'Ice cold' as that's a dangerous sign they're literally STARVING.
Fire is still basically the only thing that can permanently kill them.
(Other means DO exist. They're just not widely known, or accessible.)
And they can eat human food, (in order to blend in, and keep the secret safe) it just won't do anything to sustain their thirst, and has the unfortunate bonus of tasting like rotten ash.

Now the Gifts.. that's specifically a "human thing" true, not all humans have gifts..
BUT all Vampires, were humans.. or in the case of hybrids, at least born 'part human'
(even if the 'human' part comes from the Vampiric parent)

As for their "Creation" weeell, lets just say them describing it as a "Cursed Existence" is MUCH more accurate then even they realize.

(Just imagine that the vampires look like the "Elder Scrolls" version, I love the whole "sorta creepy but high key attractive" aesthetic.)

Pretty much the same, except he's actually (and somewhat secretly) nice.. sometimes.
(But only to other Volturi members) and has an absolutely crippling phobia of Werewolves,
that may, or may not be fueled by PTSD, of when a Werewolf tried (and almost succeeded) in killing him a few centuries back.
He also secretly carries weapons concealed in his robes made from the bones of said Werewolf.

The most beloved leader of the Volturi. Especially since the loss of his wife, Dydime.

Which came not too long after also losing their adopted daughter Milani. Who was kidnapped and tortured before she could ever be turned.
His counsel is also known to be the most valued to both Aro & Caius. Despite having rarely voiced it.

I'm retconning Literally EVERYTHING here.
Firstly,
it'll be much more like how real animals are actually known to 'imprint',
in the same way that there's many different forms of love, with family, friends, neighbors, camaraderie, or just a general love of living things.
It's possible for imprinting to be a romantic bond. But that's pretty rare, it's almost ALWAYS a Familial connection.
(And has absolutely, positively, NOTHING to do with "Soulmates")

And yes, "shifters" who just so happen to be women (like Leah Clearwater) DO experience imprinting, and are still capable of having kids.
(At least if they were already able to before shifting. Not all women can have/or want children.)

Let's start with one of the one's she screwed over the most, shall we.

Jacob: the sunshine boy.
Okay, he might have had a crush on Bella.. but only when they were little kids! And has absolutely ZERO interest in her during the story of Twilight, other then an overly concerned (perhaps even slightly misguided) friend. And his imprinting on Bella & Edward's daughter is more of a protective brotherly role. With NO romantic expectations involved for a LITERAL NEWBORN BABY!!!

Leah: sassy queen.
There are layers, LAYERS of how much she was abused, both as a Character AND as female "representation" in the Wolf Pack!!
She's definitely NOT the only "female Wolf" in their Tribes history.. but in the past few generations?? Maybe..
Also let's acknowledge the crap she's gone through! Her jerk of a boyfriend up & dropped of the radar for a good long while, gave NO reason as to why, avoided her AND DUMPED HER!! for her cousin!! (Who rightfully told him off... at first anyway.. I'll get to that later) THEN practically forced to join her Ex's Pack after turning, being judged & ridiculed by his "friend group" of puppy followers for her RIGHTFUL feelings of anger, hurt, disgust & Betrayal over the situation!!!
Basically she's a TOP TIRE QUEEN!! second in command of the "Leach protecter" Wolf Pack.  (Only in name, she's the real leader let's be honest.)
She's been through ENOUGH! Okay!! Let her find her piece & happiness! For Peet's sake!!
