CHAPTER 12

Suddenly the ground started shaking. "Is that an earthquake?" I asked Jeremy as I tried to stand and make my way to him.

"This place doesn't get earthquakes, that's something else." He grinned at me. As if he knew something I didn't, which he probably did.

Finally the shaking stopped, I let out a sigh of relief. Honestly, I was more nervous about the building falling down on us then what caused it. "Anyways, it's time for me to take my leave, we'll meet again soon Isabel." With that he disappeared.

Great now I'm stuck in this haunted mansion by myself. I thought about sitting here and waiting for Thanatos to come back, but one look at Loretta climbing up the wall and I knew it was time to go.

I huffed as I made my way back in the direction I think we came. This place was so dark, didn't even have moonlight. It's like it was completely cut off from the rest of Mount Olympus.

After wondering in the same direction for ten minutes I was about to give up and declare myself lost. Until I saw Demeter's garden come into view.

"Yes! Finally, I knew I could do it." I grinned as I started speed walking towards it. Now that Thanatos wasn't rushing me I could enjoy the view for a while.

The flowers here were gorgeous. Some I knew like the roses and daisies I passed, while others I've never seen before. I don't think we even have them on earth. I made my way through the garden eventually spotting a bench. I decided to rest for a while and just enjoy the view.

"Beautiful isn't it?" I heard a seductive voice ask from behind me. It was a nice voice, if honey could talk I'm sure that's how it would sound. I turned around trying to find the owner. All I could see were thick bushes, until a figure started stepping out. I held my breath as Noeros made his way towards me. He gracefully sat next to me, his gaze focused on the flowers. "I helped her plant this garden."

It took me a minute to realize he expected a response, and not for me to just sit and gawk at him. "Who?"

He looked over at me, a brilliant smile lighting up his face. I sighed. "Demeter of course." His lips lifted up in amusement. Stupid of course he was talking about her.

"Oh, that's cool." I faced forward hoping to not embarrass myself anymore.

"So, what brings you here?" He asked as he stretched out his legs. He was only wearing a chiton, I couldn't help but notice the muscles in his legs flexing. Dear god.

"I just wanted to check out the flowers." I couldn't bring myself to make eye contact with him after practically raping his legs with my eyes.

"I meant Mount Olympus." He chuckled, my face warmed.

"O-oh yeah, well that's complicated. Basically I didn't feel safe on earth." I shrugged.

"Why didn't you feel safe?" He placed his hand on top of mine, that was resting on my leg. Am I breathing? How does that work again? His eyes were focused on my face waiting for me to answer.

"Um..." What did he ask me again? I couldn't think straight, all I could focus on was the warmth coming from his hand.

"Isabel, there you are!" I jumped up from the bench so fast you would think it was on fire.

"Here I am." I called out as Thor stood there, his eyes held suspicion and I gulped. Not like I was doing anything wrong.

"Sydney has been looking for you," His eyes went over Noeros as he studied him. Noeros was too busy staring at me in amusement to notice. "and who are you?"

He rolled his eyes, as if Thor was annoying him. He stood up from the bench, turning to face him.

"Thor? You're hanging with the wrong gods aren't you?" He smirked at him. Not bothering to wait for his answer he once again faced me. "I'll see you around Isabel." He winked before walking off.

"Who was that?" Thor asked once I finally caught up to him. From the direction we were going I could tell we were heading to Sydney and Erebus room. Was the party over already?

"His name is Noeros." I answered. He hmmed next to me not saying anything else.

I walked into Sydney room surprised to see Thanatos there, sitting on the bed. "Thanks for leaving me asshole." I growled

He smirked. "I knew you could find your way back." I rolled my eyes. What would he have said if I didn't find my way back?

"Are you packed and ready to go?" Sydney asked, walking over to me.

"Packed for what?" I scrunched my face up in confusion. I don't remember making any plans.

She faced Thanatos glaring. "You told me you told her and she was ok with it!" She accused him.

He just shrugged. "Guess I forgot to mention it."

"What's going on?" I asked the two of them.

Sydney cleared her throat. "Well Erebus and I will be going on our honeymoon tomorrow and the boys will be leaving, we think its best if you go with them."

"What!?" Leave tomorrow? Are they crazy?

"It's not up for debate." Thanatos announced as he stood up.

"The heck if it isn't!" The room door opened up as Hera walked in.

"Dear we love having you here, but you can't run from your problems forever." I glared at her. Did she know about this too?

"You're in on this too? All of you went behind my back!" I knew I was starting to sound crazy but I couldn't help it. I felt like an animal backed into a corner with no escape. If Hera was ready for me to go then I wouldn't really have a choice.

"If it makes you feel any better we'd be glad to keep Xavier here until everything is settled." She smiled kindly at me. I knew I'd lose my anger if I kept talking to her. So I focused on Thanatos and Sydney instead.

"Why so soon? Why not another week?"

"You heard what he said Isabel, another week could mean more power and more allies." He glared.

"What who said?" Sydney cut in.

"It doesn't matter, pack your stuff Isabel and don't argue." With that he walked out of the room. Leaving Hera, Sydney and I. I let out a scream of frustration, surprising them both.

I wish they never found me.
