(Brian P.O.V.)

I am heading to work at Harry's when there are cops behind me.

"Show me your hands. Very good. Now open the door. Put your hands on your head. Face the front of the vehicle, walk back towards the rear. Take two steps to your right. Stop right there." I hear Muse say as I pull over.
"What did I do?" I ask, just in case anyone is watching I won't blow my cover.
"Shut up. He's clean, Serge." Muse says as he puts me in handcuffs and puts me in the backseat of the car. We pull up at their hideout, which is a very fancy house. We get out and are walking to the door.

"Damn! Muse, will you take these things off? Shit. You put them on so tight." I complain to Muse.
"I like realism," Muse says as he takes the handcuffs off.
"You never know who's watching, Brian," Serge says.
"Nice crib, Sergeant. It's a lot nicer than the last place you confiscated." I say as we walk inside.

"That was an $80,000 vehicle, Officer." FBI Agent Bilkins says.
"Send the bill to Johnny Tran," I say.
"Let's talk about it. Muse, why don't you make us four iced cappuccinos, please." Serge orders. As we all sit down.
"Regular or decaf, Serge?" Muse asks.
"Decaf, I think." Serge answers.

"Four hijackings in two months, and we have nothing. The DVD players and digital cameras are worth $1.2 million....which brings the grand total to $6 million plus. We're in the political crosshairs now, Brian. That's why you're undercover. You want that detective badge fast, kid. And you want to know something? The FBI can help, if you come through for us." Bilkins says.
"What does the truck driver say?" I ask.

"He gave us the same M.O.: Four Honda Civics, precision driving....the same green neon glow from under the chassis. Labs say the skid marks came back the same: Mashamoto ZX tires." Serge explains.
" So, we know it's somebody in the street-racing world," I say.
"If we don't make this case, the truckers will take matters into their own hands. I tell them we're close. Are you going to make me a liar?" Bilkins says.
"Look, what do we know? We know this world revolves around Dom, right? I'm not saying that he's the one that's popping these trucks....but I can guarantee he knows who is. It's just a matter of time until I win.." I am interrupted.

"You want time? We don't have time. Just get me something I can use. Is Harry cooperating? What kind of vibe is he getting from Toretto?" Serge says.
"Like a guy that'll do time for receiving stolen parts if he don't. He's scared of him, but he doesn't think he's jacking trucks. Toretto's too controlled for this." I say.
"Not that I want to contradict Harry's fine judge of character...but Toretto did hard time for nearly beating a guy to death..." Bilkins starts.
"He's got nitrous oxide in his blood and a gas tank for a brain. Do not turn your back on him." Serge says.
"Bilkins, I'm gonna need another car," I say.

(August P.O.V.)

Everybody was in the garage, working on cars, besides Vince. I don't know where he is because he wasn't there when I woke up either. Mia came out of the office with paperwork. Dom and I walk over to her. We start discussing the paperwork.

"What about parts and service?" Mia asks Dom.
"Hold off on it," Dom answers,
"Dom, I don't know what to do with it," Mia says. We all turn to the side door of the garage and see a pile of what used to be a car being backed in.

"All right, what the hell is this?" I ask. Then Brian walks in from the direction of the truck with the car on its trailer.
"What do you got there?" Dom asks Brian.
"This is your car." Brian answers. Everyone, besides Dom, chuckles.
"My car? I said a 10-second car, not a 10-minute car," Dom says smirking.
"You could push this across the finish line," I say smiling.
"You couldn't even tow that across the finish line," Jesse adds and we high-five.
"No faith," Brian says looking at all of us.
"I have faith in you, but this isn't a junkyard," Dom says.
"This is a garage," I add motioning around us.
"Pop the hood," Brian says rolling his eyes at our criticism.
"Pop the hood?" Dom asks in disbelief.
"Pop the hood," Brian says again. Jesse and I get on the trailer and pop the hood.

"2JZ engine. No shit." Jesse says as we look at the engine.
"And what did I tell you?" Brian asks in triumphant. I have to admit he is cute when he gets riled up about something. But he's Mia's now.
"We retract our previous statements," Dom says while Jesse and I nod our heads.
"You know what? This will decimate all after you put about $15,000 in it." Jesse says.
"Or more, if we have to overnight parts from Japan," I say and see Brian looking at me impressed.
"We'll put it on my tab at Harry's," Dom says.
"Yes!" Jesse says as we high-five.

"I gotta get you racing again so I can make some money off your ass. There's a showdown in the desert called Race Wars. That's where you'll do it. When you're not working at Harry's, you're working here. If you can't find the right tool in this garage, Mr. Arizona..." Dom says.
"You don't belong near a car," I say with a smirk. We all walk off to get to work.

"He owns you now." I hear Mia tell Brian before she walks off. Dom and I walk into the office.

"Why don't we invite Brian to the BBQ tomorrow?" Dom asks.
"I'll do it later. I'm going to help Jesse design the car." I say.

(August P.O.V.)

The next morning I walk downstairs to see everyone, but Jesse.
"Where's Jesse?" I ask Dom who is the only one in the kitchen.
"Garage working on the design of the car. Why?" Dom says.
"He forgot that he was supposed to wait for me. I'm heading to the garage." I say running out of the house.

(Brian P.O.V.)

I woke up and decided to go to the garage to if Jesse was done with the designs for Dom's 10-second car I owe him. When I get there, I'm surprised to see that August is also there.

"Hey," I say as I walk into the garage.
"Hey! Come look. We're done." Jesse says.
"Okay," I answer.
"Tell me what you think about this. Koni adjustables." Jesse says.
"Gonna save us about 2 pounds. And they're gonna give us better traction for the holeshot." August explains. Wow, they really know what they are doing.
"All right?" I say.
"This is your basic layout of the car," Jesse says as he brings up the car on his computer. It shows every part that we will be putting into the car.
"And this is pretty much what it could look like when it's finished," August says as she pulls up the outside of the car on her computer. "Red, green." She says as she changes the color of the car.

"You both should be going to MIT or something," I say impressed with what they have achieved in a day.
"Yeah, right. No, I got that...What's it called? That attention disorder...." Jesse tries to explain.
"ADD." August answers for him.
"Yes, that shit," Jesse says.
"Yeah," I say.
"You know, I was good in algebra and like math and shit. Everything else I failed. Dropped out of school. I don't know. It's just something about engines....that calms me down, you know." Jesse explains.
"Yeah, man," I say. Jesse gets up, hugs August and heads out. Leaving August and me alone.

"What about you? What's your reason?" I ask August as she goes around closing the garage.
"On a different topic. What're your plans for the rest of the day?" She asks avoiding my questions.
"Nothing, why?" I ask.
"Good, you're invited to the family BBQ." She says as she walks to her car. "You can ride with me." She says before she gets into the car. I get into the car.

"You wanted to know my story?" She asks and I nod. "I was a straight-A student in high school. So, I got acceptance letters from many colleges. But I didn't want to go to college, I just wanted to work here in the garage. But, Dom wouldn't have that, so he made Mia and I both go because he wants more for us. So, I decided to go to the community college with Mia. Mia is becoming a Nurse and I guess you could say I out bested Dom. I mean yeah I'm going to college but he never stated what I had to go for. So, I am going to become a "better mechanic." I already know everything they are teaching though. So, I kind of got my dream after all." She explains. Wow, she is really smart and beautiful and good with cars, I could go on all day, but I have to focus on Mia since this is the first time she has had anything to do with me.
"Wow! That's impressive." I say as we pull into the driveway of their house.

(August P.O.V.)

We pull up at the house, as I finish telling Brian about college. I kind of wish now that I hadn't turned him down. He is easy to talk to and open up to, kind of like I am. I just hope he isn't a cop like me. The only people I see is Dom and Jesse. Leon and Vince's cars are also gone. We get out and walk over to the BBQ pit where Dom's at.

"Where's everybody else?" I ask Dom.
"Mia's in the house and the rest are shopping for food." Dom answers and I nod before heading to the house. Before I go inside I see Brian and Dom bro hug and smile to myself.
"Mia, you know Brian is here right?" I tease her because she is still in pajamas. I watch the color drain from her face.
"You have got to be kidding me," she says before running upstairs to change. I grab four Coronas from the fridge before heading back outside. I set mine down on the table before handing one to Jesse and ruffling his beanie and hair. I hand Brian his as he walks over to talk to Jesse. I grab mine and walk over to Dom.

"What's Mia doing?" Dom asks as I hand him his beer.
"Changing," I say smirking and looking at Brian. Dom shakes his head before turning back to the food. I go over to the table and sit in my chair at the end since we have an extra person today. Brian walks over and starts helping Dom with the pit. The team drives up and starts carrying the groceries to the house. Vince stops halfway up the driveway when he sees Brian. I start walking over to give them a hand.

"I'm outta here," Vince says before he gives Leon his groceries and starts walking to his car.
"Come on, dog," Leon says but Vince keeps walking.

"Vince!" I yell trying to get his attention.

"Yo, Dom," Leon says getting his attention. I finally get to Leon and help him with the groceries.
"Vince, get over here and give us a hand," Dom says to Vince.
"Looks like you got all the help you need, brother," Vince says before driving off. Dom finishes the chicken, while Mia, Brian, and I are getting the rest of the food.

"Mia! The chickens dry." Dom yells at us.
"All right. I'm coming out already." Mia yells back as we walk out. Mia has her famous salad in her hands because she can't cook and she is now in a dress. Brian has my homemade biscuits in his hands because I have cooking skills. I carry out the Coronas.
"Here you go." Mia and I say as Brian and her place the food on the table and I hand out beers. Jesse grabs a piece of chicken from the pile.
"Hey, hold up," I say to Jesse, slapping his hand before heading to my seat.
"Because you were the first to reach in to get the chicken, you say grace," Dom explains to Jesse.
