I, Augustina Belle Toretto, am back and I'm protecting my family.
(AUGUST POV)
It's been about five years since we got Letty back and I had Jack. Brian and I have been trying and struggling to settle into the parenting life, even after five years. Letty left a couple of days ago because she felt like she was disappointing us since she still didn't remember anything. Brian just took Jack out to the minivan. Yeah, I know, Brian and I own a minivan, weird right?
"Where's mama?" I hear Jack ask Brian as I walk out on the porch.
"I don't know," Brian says before looking back at the porch. "She's up there. She's coming. Here we go. Watch your head." Brian put Jack into the car.
"Dom, you have a package out here! It's from Tokyo." I yell through the screen door seeing a package.
"Tokyo?" Dom asks walking out on the porch.
"What? Is Han trying to convert us over to turbochargers?" I ask Dom. Yes, I still have my dad's charger.
"All right, you ready?" Brian asks Jack after getting him strapped in. Jack nods before throwing his toy car out of the minivan. "Hey, buddy. Cars don't fly. This one did though, huh?" Brian picks up the toy car giving it back to Jack.
"Brian in a minivan. Things have changed," Dom says.
"We're struggling, Dom. Him especially. He doesn't want me to see it, but the white picket fence is like an anchor on him. I can tell. I tried to talk to him the other night. You know what he said?" Dom shakes his head no. "He doesn't miss the girls, he doesn't miss the cars. Heck, I miss the cars. But not him. He misses the bullets," I explain to Dom worriedly.
"Let him settle in. Just give him time," Dom says.
"I'm trying to. It's just hard when we both miss something. I just don't want him to be disappointed with his life. With me," I say.
"He will never be disappointed with you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to him" Dom explains.
"Thank you, big brother," I say giving Dom a hug. Dom's phone rings and he answers it.
"Yeah?" Dom asks.
"You don't know me, but you're about to," The voice on the other end says. Dom looks at the package then at me.
"Get down!" Dom yells pulling me off the porch into the yard and to the ground covering my head. I see Brian slam Jack's door close before turning around to see what is going on before Dom has me covered. The package explodes taking the house with it. Brian is slammed into the minivan.
"Brian! Jack!" I yell after everything starts settling and Dom let's go of me. I jump up before running over to the minivan. I see the glass is shattered but still in place on Jack's door. "Jack!" I yell again. Brian gets up and has the door opened by the time I get there. We pull Jack out and see that he is perfectly fine.
(AUGUST POV)
Brian and I take Jack and go to the Dominican Republic. There we stay with Mia and her new family. Dom goes to find Hobbs, who was put in the hospital last night. Brian and I are currently waiting for a call from Dom so we know what is going on.
"Thank you so much for letting us stay, Mando and Mia," I say giving Mia a hug. "I hope it's not a problem."
"Listen, you all needed a safe delivered to Rio in two days. That was a problem. Hosting your family, my family..." Mando says trailing off before kissing Mia on the head. "in the Dominican Republic, that is a vacation. Anyone messes with you here; they mess with the entire country. You'll be safe." Mia's cellphone then rings and she answers it.
"Hey, big brother. Yeah, yeah, they're here. Mando and I picked them up ourselves at the airport. Yeah, hold on. Stay safe. Our brother..." Mia says handing me the phone.
"Dom," I say.
"Yeah, Aug, it's me. How's it going there?" Dom asks.
"We're at Mando's. This place is like a fortress. We'll never have to worry about Mia. You should see Brian. He's in full FBI mode. He built a surveillance hub in Mando's garage and everything. I've helped when I could. What about you? Did you find out who's after us?" I say.
"Looks like the sins of London have followed us home. His name is Deckard Shaw," Dom answers.
"This isn't good. He's like a ghost. He's very deadly," I explain. "I hate to say it but knowing who it is. I'm scared, Dom. I don't want to lose anyone else."
"Have you told Buster?" Dom asks.
"I can't tell him. If he knew I was scared, he'd make me stay. He would try to stay. And with all that's going on, you are gonna need both of us by your side. We're all gonna come home together," I explain.
"Tell Brian, I'll see you both in LA in two days," Dom says.
"Where are you going?" I ask.
"Tokyo. I'm bringing Han home," Dom answers. I get off the phone with Dom, giving it back to Mia. I then head to the garage to talk to Brian.
"Authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind this daring attack here at the office of the US Diplomatic Security Service in downtown Los Angeles less than 36 hours ago. Facts are still coming in, but what is known is the suspect entered the building's fourth floor..." the radio is saying as I walk into the garage.
"Hey. You okay?" I ask as I turn off the radio before standing behind Brian, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Yeah. This guy is just relentless," Brian answers.
"That's why Dom needs us. We need to find this guy and we need to stop him before he does any more damage to the family," I explain to him.
"You know, I just... I've screwed up so many things. I couldn't live with myself if I screw this up, too," Brian says.
"You won't. I believe in you. I believe in us. That's all that matters. I love you, Brian," I say hugging him.
"I love you, baby," Brian says.
"Just promise me, after this, we're done. No more jobs, no more enemies. We both come back to Jack," I explain.
"I won't let you down, Aug," Brian says.
"I know," I say as he turns around and kisses me. Brian and I travel to LA and meet up with the rest of the team including Dom. We are all attending Han's funeral. We're all on the lookout for Deckard.
"They say to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. But he put you in this grave. So now I'll do the same to him," Dom says.
"I can't do any more funerals. First Han. Now Hobbs is laid up, of all people," Rome says.
"We're being hunted. You know he's out there somewhere watching, right?" Tej asks.
"I hope so. Means he's close," Answers Brian.
"Just promise me, Brian, no more funerals," Roman says.
"Just one more," Brian says and Rome looks at him weirdly. "His." Dom then takes off after Deckard.
(AUGUST POV)
The rest of us head to a hotel we are currently staying at. We all change and are patiently waiting for Dom. Instead of Dom coming back, these men in uniforms that show up. They explain that they are going to help us catch Deckard Shaw, so we go with them. When we arrive and get out of the SUVs, we see that Dom is already there. The main guy, Mr. Nobody, takes us to a garage.
"Our intelligence suggests that Ramsey will be transported by an armed motorcade through the Caucasus mountain range. If they clear this range and reach their destination, Ramsey is as good as gone," Mr. Nobody explains as we look at a map.
"So let me get this straight. There's only one road that leads in or out, sheer drops on every side, a motorcade from hell protected by a small army from one mile in either direction?" Roman asks.
"Yeah, that's about it. You done?" Sheppard asks.
"No, I'm not done. So you all wanted me to break into a police station. Fine. Then you asked me to stop a tank. I wasn't happy about it, but I did it. Then you came up with this brilliant idea to shoot down one of the largest airplanes ever. I shot that shit out of the sky. Mmm. It's nothing. But this right here, my friend, happens to be the stupidest idea I've ever heard of in my life," Rome complains.
"I forgot that you were the only one to bring the plane down," I say sarcastically.
"No, no. The only thing I've ever seen him take down was "No Knees" Denise. Remember, at prom?" Brian jokes and we laugh.
"Really, Brian? You're gonna do that right here? See, y'all trying to get me off my point. All I'm saying is, I'm tired of everybody around me making all the decisions. This time, I lead. Seriously. If I don't start making decisions, I'm out," Rome says.
"All right, Roman. What do you got?" Dom says letting Rome take over.
"I mean, I wasn't trying to get into the whole leadership thing, like, now. You know what I'm saying? I was just, kind of, talking about, like, at some point. Like, you know, when we... Whatever. I mean, I think... Let's hit it from here," Rome says pointing at the most secure point on the map. It does make sense since they would never see it coming.
"I don't think that's..." Sheppard starts.
"No. No. Don't think. That's my job. Okay," Rome tells him.
"It is impossible to hit it there. That is literally the most secure spot on the mountain. Why? Because you cannot physically access it," Sheppard states.
"See, that's what makes it so sweet. Because it's the place that they least expect us to hit them from," Rome says.
"As much as I hate to admit it, he's onto something there. What do you think, Dom?" I say.
"Here?" Dom asks pointing at the spot.
"Yeah," Rome answers.
"I think we got a plan," Dom says.
"Completely wrong thinking. And I like it," Mr. Nobody says.
"You see? I'm good at this," Rome says excitedly.
"'Good?' Okay. How are you planning on getting on that road?" Sheppard asks.
"Well, Tej?" Rome asks.
"I think I may actually have a plan for that," Tej says as the soldier gives Rome a look.
"What? I delegated. That's what good leaders do. Leader!" Rome says.
"You know, when I was reading your files, I was impressed with what you've accomplished with your team. But meeting them now, I've gotta say, Dom, you've truly got a gift. Consider my workshop your new playhouse. I think you'll find our cars extremely appealing. And your team is now complete," Mr. Nobody says as he leaves and Letty enters.
"I went to the house. I was looking for you everywhere. You scared the shit out of me," Letty says as she hugs Dom.
"We're gonna need long-travel suspension, limited-slip differentials on all of them," I say before giving Letty a hug. Brian then hugs Letty. "It's a beauty," I show Dom a charger.
"I want a demon love child between that and that," Dom says pointing at the charger and an armored jeep.
"That's a lot of armor. It's just gonna add more weight. Slow you down," Tej says.
"This time, it ain't just about being fast," Dom says.
