It's been a month since Letty has come back. Dom has called once just to give me the number in case of an emergency. Letty has Dom's car almost back in perfect condition. Right now, we are in the living room eating takeout.
"There has to be a way for Dom to come back," Letty says.
"I don't know the cops want him in prison for good," I explain.
"How do you always know so much about cops?" Letty asks.
"You have to promise to let me explain and not hate me," I say.
"I promise," Letty says.
"So, when Dom got the two years in Lompoc. I made a promise to myself that he would never go back. So, I became a cop to help keep him off of the radar. It worked until Brian came along. Then he messed everything up, making Dom have to be on the run all the time. I ended up doing a job in Miami with Brian, but he doesn't know it was me. I go by a different name when I'm a cop. Mainly because of me being a Toretto," I explain. Letty gets up and walks out. The next morning Letty comes back.
"I have an idea on how to get Dom back," Letty says.
"Okay, let's hear it," I say.
"Well, you're a cop right?" Letty asks and I nod my head. "Okay, so what if I did a job for y'all and in return, they clear Dom's name."
"I think it might work. I'll go ask the chief," I say. I call the chief to not risk of seeing Brian. I explain everything to him and he agrees. He fills me in on the case they are working on. I don't like it one bit. I will not let Letty do this one. I inform the chief that she will be sitting this one out. I then go tell Letty.
"The chief agreed and told me about the case they are working on. I do not want you to do it," I explain.
"What? Why?" Letty asks.
"It's too dangerous. They have already lost two agents on this case. I will not be the one to put you undercover just for you to die. I don't want to lose any more of my family," I answer.
"What happened to "Ride or die"? You and Dom both seem to have forgotten that," Letty says.
"I will not put you in this situation. What if you did die? What would I say to Dom? 'Hey, Dom. I'm a cop and Letty went undercover and died,'" I ask her.
"Then he would have to remember that I don't do anything that I don't want to do," Letty answers.
"Fine, but I won't do it. The chief told me that Brian is on the case. If you really want to do this, then you will have to ask him and explain everything to him. Okay?" I say.
"Okay. I will then," Letty says.
"Be careful. I don't want to lose you. You are like a sister to me," I say.
"I'll be back. I promise," Letty says.
"Don't make promises you don't know if you can keep," I say pulling her into a hug. Letty then leaves.
Letty got in as a driver for Braga. It's been a week since I have spoken to her. She is coming home at all times of the night. It's been three days since she left the last time.

This morning I had found out that we had lost Letty. So, I was chasing down a guy that will have information on how I can get in. I chase him all over town until we go into an apartment building. We end up jumping off of a roof and landing on a car.
"Give me a name!" I yell at him while aiming my gun at him.
"I don't know shit, man!" He yells back.
"Give me a name!" I yell again.
"David Park! David Park's the guy you want!" He answers. I take him in and head to the chief's office.
"Complaints keep rolling in after your little downtown Olympics, O'Conner. Tell me that reinstating you wasn't a mistake," The chief says as I sit down. Stasiak is also in the room.
"I got a name. David Park," I explain.
"That's it? That's all you got? David Park? I could throw a fortune cookie out this window and hit 50 David Parks right now," The chief says.
"It's Korean, not Chinese," Stasiak says.
"Whatever," The chief says.
"Park is a scout that recruits street racers to be mules for the Braga cartel. We find Park, and we bust the bad guys," I explain.
"Okay. Stasiak, call the Toretto household and inform them of Letty's passing. I presume that's where she was staying. She was close to Dominic Toretto. Maybe he will come back and we can get him," The chief explains.
(August P.O.V.)
I was cleaning up around the house when the house phone started ringing.
"Hello," I say answering it.
"Hello. Is this Augustina Toretto?" The guy on the other end asks.
"Yes, this is she," I answer.
"I'm sorry to inform you that Leticia Ortiz has passed," The guy explains.
"Okay," I say and hang up, falling to the ground crying. I knew it was a bad idea.
Now, I have to call Mia and Dom. I call Mia first.
"Hello," Mia says answering the phone.
"Mia, you need to come home for a few days," I say.
"August. Why?" Mia asks.
"It's Letty. She's been murdered," I explain.
"Okay. I'm booking a flight right now." Mia says and we get off of the phone. Now I have to call Dom. He's more than likely to come home and the cops are expecting that. I need to figure out where the crash site was and any other information that I can find. I head to the police station.
(August/Alex P.O.V.)
I show my badge and head straight to the chief's office and hope that I don't see Brian. I walk into his office and thankfully it's only him and he was getting off the phone.
"I would say that I'm surprised to see you here but I'm not," The chief says.
"I want to know everything," I say.
"All I can give you is the crash site since you turned this case down," The chief says.
"That will work," I say. He gives me the crash site and I head home.
(August P.O.V.)
I decide to call Dom once I get home. I call the number he told me to call. A little boy answers in Spanish and I ask for Dom in Spanish.
"Hello," Dom says after a few minutes.
"Dom," I say.
"Aug, I told you not to call me here," Dom says.
"Dom, it's Letty. She's been murdered," I explain.
"Okay. I'm coming home," Dom says.
"Dom, you can't. The cops are expecting you to come back, so they can arrest you," I explain and we get off the phone.
Mia arrived that night. The next morning we got up and got ready for the funeral. We were at the funeral and there are cops everywhere, looking for Dom to show.
"We have gathered here to pay our final respects to Leticia Ortiz," The priest begins. I look around at all of the cops. It's so disrespectful. I look in the direction Mia is looking and see Brian looking back at her. I turn back to the priest. "Let us reflect on her journey. 'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down...'" The priest finishes.
Everybody begins to pay their respects. I look around again, to see if I can see Dom anywhere. I look up at a hill and don't see anyone, but I have a feeling someone was there. I feel someone staring at me, so I look in that direction and see Brian looking at me. I hold the stare for a few minutes then I look back up at the hill and then turn my attention to Mia. Everybody leaves.
(Brian P.O.V.)
I hate how we have to patrol the funeral. It's so disrespectful. I look at all the people that are here. Letty was well known. I see Mia in the crowd beside August. Mia and I hold a stare for a few minutes before I look away.
"Facial recognition software matched Toretto about ten minutes after he crossed the border," Stasiak explains. I look back at August and see her staring up at the hill. She turns and looks at me. We stare each other down for a few minutes then she looks back at the hill before facing Mia. I look up at the hill and have a feeling that Dom was here. Everybody starts leaving. "I don't get it. I thought he would show." He will never understand Toretto.
(August P.O.V.)
Mia and I arrive back at the house.
"So, how have you been?" I ask her.
"Good. Great actually," Mia answers.
"Why's that?" I ask.
"I had a baby. He's almost six months old. You're an Aunt," Mia answers.
"Oh my gosh. I can't wait to meet him. Vince must have his hands full. What's his name?" I ask as we start packing Letty's thing up to put in the garage.
"Dominic Augustus. But we call him Nico," Mia answers.
"So, when are you leaving?" I ask.
"Tomorrow," Mia answers.
"I hate to see you go, but it's for the best. I have a feeling Dom's going to come back and start up some trouble," I explain.
"He always does," Mia says.
We walk out to the garage and put the boxes down.
"You kept the curse?" Mia asks referring to Dom's car. I nod and then we turn to walk out and Dom walks in. Mia runs and gives him a hug. When they pull apart Dom looks at me, but I'm standing there with my arms crossed.
"I told you not to come. They're staking the place out. What if they find you..." I begin.
"They won't," Dom says and then we hug. He looks over at his car and just stares. He walks over and starts looking it over.
"I wouldn't let them junk it," I explain.
"Even though it is a goddamn curse," Mia says.
"When Letty came back, she was always in here working on it day and night. It was weird. It was like she knew you would come back," I explain. Dom looks in the car and finds the necklace he gave Letty hung around the rearview mirror. He grabs it and puts it on.
"I want to see the crash site," Dom says and I nod. Dom, Mia, and I sneak down the street and get into his car and head to the crash site.
(Brian P.O.V.)
"I just got off the phone with Deputy Director Lawson. If we don't make serious inroads into the Braga case in the next 72 hours, they're gonna shut us down," The chief explains.
"I know I'm a newbie here, but why the clock now?" Trinh asks.
"Because it's been two years, and the last three agents we sent in to infiltrate his organization came back in body bags. He's moved more heroin across the border than Escobar did in 10 years. This guy is becoming one of our biggest national threats, and we don't even have a picture of him. We don't have prints! Not even a goddamn DOB!" The chief answers.
"What's the status on David Park? Isn't he our ticket into the Braga organization?" Stasiak asks.
"We're running the name through city and county databases, sorting possibilities. We've got over 500 already," Trinh answers.
"Park's insignificant. Sounds like another jerk-off to me," The chief says.
"It's not. Without Park, Braga wouldn't have a driver to move his shipments. Cross-check traffic. Illegal modifications. Street racing. This guy will definitely have a record. We'll find him," I explain finally speaking up.
"We better," The chief says. We all leave the conference room.
I walk back to my desk and after a few minutes, Stasiak walks up.
"What do you know? Your boy Toretto's red Chevelle has been spotted in his old neighborhood. I'm going to bring his ass in," Stasiak says and then leaves.
(August P.O.V.)
"It's straight ahead," I say as we pull up to the crash site. Dom and I get out to look around. All of a sudden I see something on the ground. "Dom," He comes and looks. He rubs his finger on it and then looks at his finger. "Nitro meth," I look at it again. I have this strange feeling that Letty might still be alive, but I don't know. Dom and I get back in the car. He drives us back towards the house. He stops a couple of blocks away.
"You both found something back there," Mia says.
"There were burn marks on the ground. The kind that could only be caused by nitro meth," I answer.
"There's only one guy in all of L.A. that sells that," Dom says.
"Nothing you can do is gonna bring her back, Dom. If I were Letty, I would ask you....No, I would beg you, please, let this go. Before it's too late," Mia says.
"It's already too late," Dom says.
"I love you," Mia says giving him a hug and getting out.
"Well, I'm not Mia or Letty, but I know that Letty wouldn't have wanted you to do this. But if she couldn't change your mind, she would want to come along with you. Ride or die. I'm coming with you and if you don't like it then I will do it on my own terms," I explain.
"Okay. I know I'm not going to stop you," Dom says.
"I'm going to make sure Mia gets out then I will meet back up with you," I say and hug Dom then get out. Mia and I start walking home. When we get near the house we see an SUV in front of it. We begin to walk up to the house, but then two guys get out of the car.
"Augustina and Amelia Toretto. I'm Michael Stasiak, F.B.I. Let's have a little chat," He says before leading us to the car. We go back to the station and they put us in the same interrogation room. Stasiak keeps asking us questions, but we won't answer.
