"We need to check in," I say. We head to go check in after Brian and I change. We walk inside to find Bilkins and Markham waiting.

"Nice shirt, Bilkins," I say. Bilkins is wearing a bright colored shirt.
"It's my day off," Bilkins explains.
"Yeah. Well, anyhow, this is the deal." I say.
"Last night, Verone threatened a cop into giving us a window. We're driving to an airstrip, in the Keys, off Nallwood Avenue. Verone has a plane waiting there, and he's taking off for good." Brian explains.

"Wait a minute. How do you know this?" Markham asks.
"Monica," I answer.
"She's doin' her job. She warned us." Rome adds.
"She warned you about what?" Bilkins asks.
"Verone plans to kill us after we give him the money," I answer.
"Driving into an ambush was never part of the deal. I'm calling this off." Bilkins says.

"Like hell you are. This is a Customs case, Bilkins. No one's calling this off unless I do. Look. This is real simple. You make the run. You get Verone and his cash together so I can move in for the bust. All right? You don't and I will find enough charges on three of you to make sure you disappear and make sure that you will never be a cop again." Markham explains to us. "Take these. We're gonna have G.P.S. on you the whole time to make sure you don't get any cute ideas." Markham says handing us walkie-talkies.

"And to make sure nothing happens to them, right?" Bilkins asks.
"Yeah, right," Markham says to make Bilkins happy. We walk outside and head towards the cars.

"The guy's a dick man," Rome says talking about Markham.
"Yep," I say.
"Let me get this right. If we don't do this, then we go to jail. But if we do it, then Verone's gonna kill us." Rome says.
"It's a hell of a deal, huh?" I ask.
"Yeah. Maybe it is. But I know this guy's got an ass full of loot that he's ready to dump in our cars. And I can think of two reasons why Verone doesn't need that money anymore." Brian explains.

"Ah, here we go," I say getting excited.
"You and me. Just like the old days. Plus homegirl here. What do you think?" Rome says.
"I think they messed with the wrong people," Brian says.
"That's what I think," Rome says.
"Hell yeah." I agree making them smile at me. Brian calls Tej.

"Yo, Tej. What's up, bro?" Brian says. "Hey, man, how quickly can you organize?" Brian asks. We meet up with Tej at a storage unit for cars.
"Look, folk, if y'all really wanna carry out this plan, it's definitely the best place to do it. What do y'all think, man?" Tej says.
"I think it's perfect," Brian says and I nod my head in agreement.
"What do they store here?" Rome asks. We all just smile at him. We head back to the garage to work on the other two cars. We have the cars on the lifts so we can just walk underneath and work. Brian and I are working on the blue one when I get an idea.

"Hey, Jimmy," I say.
"Yeah. What up?" He asks as he walks over.
"We have any half-empty bottles of nitrous laying around?" I ask him, making everybody look at me confused.
"Sure, but I already loaded y'all with spray," Jimmy says confused.
"No. I'm just thinkin' we may need it for somethin' else," I explain and everybody is still confused. "Cause our cars may get a little crowded, you know?" I explain making everybody get it.

"Ejector seats," Rome says getting it. I nod my head.
"Brilliant," Brian says before kissing me. We wire the seats and doors to where they would eject. After we finish the cars, Brian and I walk to the pier to watch the sunset. Brian has an arm wrapped around my waist and I'm leaning my head on his shoulder. We stand there just enjoying the silence and not worrying about what might happen tomorrow. Then Rome comes over eating something.

"Man, when you start eatin' so much?" Brian asks turning us to face Rome.
"I was in jail, brah. I know how shitty the grub is on the inside. With the way things is shappin' up out here right now, it'll be a matter of time before I'm back in there or dead. So I'm tryin' to eat all I can while I can. Plus the doctor tell me I got a high metabolism." Rome explains. Brian and I nod our heads, but Brian seems lost in thought, then he speaks.

"Man, you remember us growing up? You know, playing football in the dirt. You know, gettin' in trouble, all the stupid things we did. When you got busted, you know, whether I was a cop or not, you know, if there was anything I could've done, I would've done it, and I just want you to know that." Brian says.
"Is that why you let your dude go in L.A.?" Rome asks.
"Yeah. I think that had a lot to do with it." Brian answers.
"When I got busted, it wasn't your fault. It was all on me, Mr. Roman Pearce, wild-and-out crazy man. No one can tell me nothin'. Ridin' solo." Rome explains.

"Yeah, well, not anymore. Not anymore, bro." Brian says and they bro hug.
"The three amigos." I joke and they laugh. The next morning we head to the Café to meet Roberto and Enrique. I was riding with Brian. As we were riding, Brian was holding my hand.

"Here we go," Brian says. Bringing our hands up and kissing mine.
"Ride or die," I say smiling at him.
"Ride or die." He echoes.
"Here we go," Rome says through the walkie-talkie.
"Yeah, so you know what to do. Just stay cool, keep focused." Brian says through the walkie-talkie. I grab the walkie-talkie so I can talk to Rome.
"Remember, the airstrip's on Nallwood Avenue. It's the third exit after the bridge." I explain.
"Got it," Rome says. We pull up at the café and park side by side.

"So what up, man? You ready for this?" Brian asks Rome.
"Come on, man. Guns, murders, and crooked cops? I was made for this, brah." Rome answers. Roberto and Enrique pull up beside us.
"Come on." They say before taking off with us following them.

(Alex P.O.V.)

We arrived at a trailer house. Roberto and Enrique get out while grabbing bags and sledgehammers then heading inside the house. Brian, Rome, and I get out and lean on the cars.

"Load up," Enrique says as he and Roberto throw bags at Rome and Brian.
"Three bags in one car, huh?" Rome asks.
"I guess so." Brian answers. I hear cop sirens in the distance, heading our way.
"Cops," I say.
"I'm not going back to jail," Rome says heading to Roberto's and Enrique's car.
"Where you goin', man?" Roberto asks. Brian and Enrique get in the front and I sit in the back. Roberto is riding with Rome. "Let's go! Let's go!" Roberto yells at Rome. Rome picks up a rock and puts their car in drive, using the rock to keep the gas pedal down. The car rams into the cop cars. We take off with Rome following us. We are dodging cop cars like crazy. All of a sudden there is a helicopter overhead. There is a guy leaning out of the copter with a gun that shoots the prong thing that shuts the cars down. He fires twice and Brian dodges both of them, making them hit cop cars. The third one hits the car. The car starts to shut down.

"What was that?" Enrique asks.
"Oh, shit," I say.
"Come on, man. Take the wheel." Brian tells Enrique.
"No. I can't drive." Enrique says.
"Just hold the wheel!" Brian yells.
"I can't drive!" Enrique yells back. Enrique finally grabs the wheel.
"Hold it right there! Just hold it steady, just like that." Brian says as we both climb halfway out the windows. Brian and I finally pull the prong out and Brian throws it at the cop cars behind us. It hits one making it shut down and crash and others crash into it.

"Whoo!" I yell as we climb back in.
"Yeah, man!" Brian yells.
"You're a good driver, man," Enrique says.
"Thanks, bro," Brian says.
"All right, Miami's finest, let's see what you got," I say. Brian looks in the rearview mirror at me and smirks.
"Everyone's here," Brian tells me and I nod, grabbing the walkie-talkie.
"Hey, man. Everyone's here. Time for the show." I tell Rome through he walkie-talkie.
"Let's give it to 'em," Rome replies back through the walkie-talkie. We pull up in the garage Tej showed us. We have big diesel trucks in the front to get the cops away and a lot of other sports cars to confuse them. We switch cars with Tej and Suki. Jimmy is waiting for us near Tarpon Point. As we are loading the bags into the new cars, Brian and I share a quick kiss. Brian, Enrique, and I got the blue car and Rome and Roberto got the orange car.

"All right. Let the party begin." I say through the walkie-talkie and the trucks head out. "Let's go," I say through the walkie-talkie after a few moments and all the cars head out.

"It's a scramble, baby. A big one!" Rome says through the walkie-talkie.
"Yeah! Let's do this!" Brian yells.
"Y'all let's break," I say through the walkie-talkie.

"Yeah!" Enrique says as we get away from the cops.
"How about them apples, man? Yeah! That's some drivin' for your ass, baby! Ain't that some drivin' for your ass?" Brian says excited that it worked. Which makes him look adorable.
"Hey, Tej. Thanks a lot. You're the clutch. We owe you one, big time." I say to Tej through the walkie-talkie. Tej and Suki took the original cars and got caught by the cops. Saving us.

"Yeah, Brian, Alex, you really do owe me. You really do....Us. Suki says you owe us, a'ight?" Tej says through the walkie-talkie.
"Yo, Rome. You there, man? Come in." I say through the walkie-talkie.
"What's up, homies?" Rome asks through the walkie-talkie.
"It looks like we got just one more trick left, huh?" I ask him through the walkie-talkie. Brian smirks at me.
"My pleasure, girl," Rome answers through the walkie-talkie.

"Let's do it, man," I say through the walkie-talkie. After a few moments of riding Rome starts talking on the walkie-talkie.
"It worked! I love this button! Mr. O'Conner, Miss Wilde, it worked, baby. Blow and go. I'm all clear. Meet me at the point. Hurry up, homies. It's on baby." Rome explains.
"All right. Ten-four, man." I reply. I nod at Brian letting him know it was good to go.

"Get off at Tarpon Point," Enrique says.
"Tarpon Point? There's no airstrip at Tarpon Point." Brian says confused.
"Who said anything about an airstrip?" Enrique asks. Brian shuts up and keeps driving.
"Brian. Alex. What's the holdup, homies?" Rome asks through the walkie-talkie.
"Yo, Rome, there's a new plan," I explain through the walkie-talkie.
"What the hell?" Rome asks.
"We're meeting them at the Tarpon Point exit, not the airstrip," I answer.
"So what are you sayin'?" Rome asks.
"Like I said, there's a new plan," I answer, sitting the walkie-talkie down.

"Brian. Alex. Alex, hello? You there? Damn!" Rome asks and I don't answer. We pull up at Tarpon Point and Brian shoots me a worried glance. Then he has a guy with a gun at his door.

"It's all right. Let them out." I hear Verone say.
"Get out. Pop the trunk. Hurry up." The guy tells Brian. Brian and I stand in front of Verone and the guy gets the three bags out of the trunk and sits them on the ground by Verone. Monica is standing by Verone.
"Where's the rest of it?" Verone asks.
"The other car." Brian answers.
"Another car. Where's the other car?" Verone asks.
"On the way," I answer.
"On the way, huh?" Verone asks.
"Yeah. Here's your money." Brian says.

"So you know nothing about the agents that stormed my jet?" Verone asks Brian. Brian shakes his head no. "The funny thing is that I only told two people about the airstrip," Verone says turning towards Monica. "Hmm," Verone says as he rubs his hand down Monica's cheek before turning to me and does the same. "Customs agents sure are getting pretty, aren't they?" Verone asks and I notice Brian tense up at his touching me. "Put them on the boat," Verone orders the men.

"Let's go. Get on the boat." They say leading us away. I jerk away from them touching me but keep walking. I look back at Brian who has a worried expression.
