Bilkins gave Brian the list of reasons he needs to do the job or go to prison. Brian starts to go along with it. I smile knowing that I will be able to be around him. I have to stop thinking about him, this is strictly business.
"So what's the idea here? Dunn and I are supposed to be street racers and Wilde will work for Verone?" Brian asks sizing up Agent Dunn.
"That's right." Bilkins answers.
"So, Dunn....Looks like we're gonna be partners, bro." Brian says giving Dunn a bro hug. "Could you tell me real quick what would be a better engine for my skyline, a Gallo 12 or a Gallo 24?" Brian asks him trying not to smirk. I'm trying not to laugh because Dunn's face is clueless.
"Um...," Dunn says looking at Markham. Markham gives him a look that says 'well answer'. "The 24." Dunn answers and I mentally facepalm myself. I start smirking.
"I didn't know pizza places made engines." Brian sarcastically says with a smirk on his face. I finally bust out laughing as Markham rips the Gallo's pizza cup from Dunn's hand. "See, man, come on. I can't do this. Seriously, if this is what you're gonna give me, I may as well take my chances in Chino." Brian says to Bilkins and Markham.
"We will get someone else," Markham says.
"No way, man. The only way I'll do this is if I get to pick the driver." Brian explains. Bilkins and Markham look at me since I'm now over the drivers. I nod my head.
"All right, O'Connor, who you got in mind?" Bilkins asks.
"This dude I grew up with in Barstow," Brian answers with a huge grin on his face.
"Who's that?" Markham asks.
"Roman Pearce." Brian answers. Markham nods and leaves the room to find out where this Roman guy is. Bilkins and Brian are quietly talking. I guess catching up. Dunn just stands there disappointed. It's sad, but it's for the best.
"Hey, Dunn...," I say loud enough for everyone to hear me. They all look at me making me feel nervous, but I continue. "An RB26DETT would work for the skyline," I say smirking. Dunn leaves the room. I turn to Bilkins and Brian. Bilkins has a small smile on his face and Brian has a look of pure amazement on his face.
"It's just like you to pick on younger, non-car savvy agents," Bilkins says smiling. I smile back.
"Found him," Markham says as he enters the room.

Markham left the room to find out where Roman is. Bilkins and I start talking a little about Roman.
"Hey, Dunn...," Alex says loud enough to draw in Bilkins and my attention. "An RB26DETT would work for the skyline," Alex says with a smirk on her face.
"It's just like you to pick on younger, non-car savvy agents," Bilkins says as Dunn leaves the room. I'm sure my face has pure amazement all over it because that is what I am right now. Amazed. She knows cars.
"Found him," Markham says as he enters the room. Bilkins, Alex and I head out to get Roman.

We arrive at a derby of some sort. I look around before we head inside. Not more than a hundred yards from the derby is a mobile home. We go and sit in the stands. Bilkins has him some popcorn. Brian is sitting between Bilkins and I. I watch as a Monte Carlo rams another car into the wall in front of us. Bilkins and Brian move back faster than I do. When I move back I don't watch what I am doing and end up in someone's lap. I look up and it's Brian. He has a smirk on his face. I move as a blush creeps onto my face and I go back to watching the derby.
"That's your boy in the Monte Carlo?" Bilkins asks.
"Yeah, that's him." Brian answers. "Yeah, he's got some skills," Brian says.
"Mm-hmm," Bilkins says.
"That's for sure," I say.
"And he's crazy as hell, I'm telling ya. In a good way though. He's the man for the job." Brian explains.
"He's got quite a record, including three years upstate. Says here he's on house arrest now. Can't go more than 100 yards from his home." Bilkins says looking at his file.
"That must be why there was a mobile home outside the derby," I say. They go to question me, but the announcer starts talking.
"Roman Pearce!" The announcer yells. Roman gets out of his car pumping his fist in the air and waving. We all stand up. Roman is waving to the crowd when he spots Brian. He stops smiling and starts walking out.
"He always said he'd be famous," Brian says. We walk out following Roman. "Pearce!" Brian yells at him. Nothing. "Roman Pearce!" Again nothing. "Yo, whatever happens next, just let it go," Brian says to us.
"I ain't in it," Bilkins says and I hold my hands up in surrender.
"Rome!" Brian yells and Roman stops before slightly turning around.
"Only my homeboys call me Rome, pig!" Roman yells back.
"I'm not a cop anymore, bro," Brian says.
"Is that true? Blondie here's not a cop anymore?" Roman asks Bilkins and me.
"That's true," Bilkins says.
"No badge," I say giving him more proof.
(Alex P.O.V.)
Roman starts walking towards us and stops in front of Brian. He then punches Brian in the face.
"Whoo!" Bilkins says.
"Here we go," I say as we move away from them. They are now on the ground rolling around.
"You still fight like shit. You still fight like shit." Brian says trying to hold Roman back.
"What the hell are you doin' here, O'Conner?" Roman asks as Brian gets his hands around Roman neck.
"I'll choke you." Brian threatens. They finally stop fighting and sit there panting.
"I told you to stay away from me...I did three years, Brian." Roman says.
"I told you it wasn't my fault," Brian says.
"Why did you come here, O'Conner?" Roman asks.
"I got a deal for you." Brian answers.
"When I needed your ass, you were nowhere to be found. Now you tryin' to hand out deals?" Roman says.
"I need you to come to Miami and drive with me. If you do, they'll take off that anklet and they'll clear your entire record." Brian says pointing at Bilkins and me.
"I did three years in jail. Three years in jail off you, Brian." Roman says.
"You guys finished?" I ask.
"This deal legit?" Roman asks looking at Bilkins.
"That's right if you do this job for us." Bilkins answers.
"Told you," Brian says.
"Shut up, punk," Roman says to Brian, before getting up. "So you gonna clean my record and get this thing off my ankle?" Roman asks.
"That's right. I thought you couldn't wander more than..." Bilkins starts.
"Why do you think I'm parked so close to the derby?" Roman asks.
"Told you," I whisper to where only Bilkins can hear me.
"Man, quit playin' like you gonna pass this up," Brian says. Roman agrees and we take the anklet off and head back to Miami. We arrive back in Miami. We get out of the car and go to head inside. Bilkins goes inside and I go to follow with Brian behind me.
"Wait. Hold up." Roman says.
"Hey, bro what's going on?" Brian asks. I stop and hold the door while Bilkins kept walking.
"I don't know if I should be trusting you, man," Roman says.
"Just think of it this way. It's an opportunity for a fresh start." Brian says.
"Let's just go do this," I say wanting to get this over with.
"I wouldn't need a fresh start if it weren't for you," Roman says to Brian.
"Man, you been using that since the day you got busted. Now, let's just chill out and go do this." Brian says.
"I don't need to chill out," Roman says.
"Yes, you do. And you need to stop blaming me for your every mistake. And Roman Pearce needs to start taking responsibility for his own actions." Brian says.
"You need to go to hell," Roman says.
"And you need to go back to Barstow," Brian says.
"I'm not goin' back to Barstow," Roman says.
"Is there a problem?" I ask as they make their way to the door.
