More beans to spill- Loose Ends
So it's about two weeks until Hold Your Breath begins...
I think it's about time to spill some more beans on this book.
There are quite a few loose ends that are tied up in the sequel to Skip a Beat, and I know I've listed them all before, but here they are again, with elaboration:
1. Newtina, of course! I might even add a chapter where they kiss if I gain enough confidence. I still haven't decided.
2. Jacob's new bakery
In the later chapters of SaB, I foreshadowed a little by making Jacob say that he thought it was a good idea to open a second bakery in England, and he even applied to buy some land with leftover Occamy silver. This comes into play in the sequel, mainly at the start.
3. Whether to tell the ministry about the prophecy or not
So, our six heroes were in a bit of a pickle by the time SAB ended... the Ministry of Magic knew that they'd recovered a prophecy orb belonging to Grindelwald, but what they DON'T know is that Newt is linked to the prophecy somehow, and that they'd heard the prophecy itself recited.
An unresolved issue in the last book is the ever-present argument of 'Should we tell the ministry about this prophecy? Would they be able to help? What if they took the orb and left us behind? What if they didn't understand it right? What if Grindelwald escaped from them? What if, what if, what if.'
The ministry consider themselves the boss of everything, so they're bound to find out that Newt and co have been going behind their back sooner or later, right?
4. What the prophecy actually means
The tides are shifting.
A storm is brewing.
To run is a fool's mistake.
Weapons will be cast, war will erupt, souls will be turned... but only when the true to heart heal the blind victim... only then will the alliance begin its downfall.
Hmmm... what do you guys think?
There was some discussion about the words in later chapters, and just by looking at this, it can be established that;
- A war is on its way
- There is no choice but to stand and fight
- Someone's going to change sides
- There's a blind victim who will be saved by one pure boi :)
- The alliance (Grindelwald's team of lemon-suckers) will begin its downfall if this prophecy is fulfilled
But how do Newt and Dumbledore play into this?
In one of the final chapters of SAB, I released a teaser of the next book...
Just by looking at this, it can be established that Credence Barebone (or- whatever his name is) is mentioned in the story. However, we can't tell if Credence is alive or dead by looking at this.
But it still allows us to reshape the original question, no matter whether Credence is alive or dead: How do Newt, Credence and Dumbledore play into this?
5. The strange mirror in Leta and Theseus' house
Yeahh, no one really remembers it now, do they? ;)
It's okay if you don't.
It began as something mysterious and funny- Tina began seeing weird visions in a mirror in the spare room. Then it just turned plain weird- Newt saw things too... Frank the Thunderbird and himself wearing a wedding ring.
This just seems like a cute, funny sidestory, and honestly, that's what it was meant to be originally. But now that I've actually developed a plot and everything, I've got a plan for that mirror as well...
6. Tina's patronus
Alright, place your bets, everyone!
I ain't giving anything away on this one. Let me have my fun lol
So there you have it! I'll release the description for the new book soon.
If you have any questions, drop me a comment and I'll do my best to answer! ;)
