Through the Eyes of Ryan~
As soon as Kashi instructed, we immediately left for what we had to do. It was an immediate and a decision full of haste, but honestly, even she wasn't expecting an attack in such a short span of time. I hated the fact that I won't be beside her, but I also had responsibilities.
We successfully collected all the people from the desired places, they were a big number of almost five hundred people. Thankfully, the majority of the people in Etis were up for a fight and physically deemed fit.
'They're too many Ryan, and I'm sure the enemy is inside the territory. We can't have any casualties at all. What should we do, Matilda?'
'I'm sure the other realms have been attacked too.' She replied absentmindedly. 'That means we shall have a lot of bloodsheds. But yes, we have to save these people. Ryan, open the portal here. We shall transport them here.'
'This is literally the middle of the streets, we'll see a lot of attacks.' Mr. Renaud analyzed.
'We have no option. Ryan, go to the other side, make sure nothing goes wrong. Raphael, wend off anything that comes near us. I'll make sure no one leaves to the other side of the portal.'
And instantly, serpents and men and eagles filled the streets. I quickly opened a portal, a much stabler mirror this time, so that no one slipped into the void and directly got into the Goan house. I and Kashi had created that provision when we had left the place. I got in, making sure my eyes were perfectly zoomed in to look between the worlds and see what was happening on the other side. I didn't want to leave them alone, but I had no choice but to listen to Matilda.
Mr. Renaud started using his net and flute, alternatively and Matilda attacked with creepers. After a long time, I finally saw Matilda strain. Mr. Renaud wasn't looking great either.
'Both of you, come in! I'll close the Portal.' I shouted, the enemy was slowly overpowering us. 'Please.'
'I'm afraid it's not possible kid. One wrong move and they get inside the Earth too, which is really harmful.' Mr. Renaud replied. All of us knew that if Matilda and Mr. Rapahel spent more time there, it would be deadly.
'Raphael, leave. I shall protect the place.'
'No, Matilda go in, I'll manage.'
'There's no time to argue, child. Ryan is waiting, go!'
'No Matilda, no!'
'Save Etis, do this for the Fallen Queen, your daughter, her people, and me.'
He opened his mouth to argue but then shuddered. And then he hurriedly proceeded towards the portal and was immediately dragged towards the ground by a huge snake, who coiled its tail around Kashi's dad and was trying to squeeze the life out of him. Matilda, on the other hand, was fighting a hundred or so eagle at once, slapping them with creepers and branch ropes. She saw Mr. Raphael and immediately shifted her creepers towards the serpent, parting it from him.
'Leave.' She screamed as the eagles surrounded her fully, close enough to her hands so that she could not cast her magic. 'I love Etis, all of you. May we see victory. Hail the Fallen Queen! Hail my land!' She screamed as it became impossible to spot her in the crowd. Mr. Raphael froze on his place, fixing his eyes towards the convocation of the eagles, and before he would also meet the same fate, I dragged him into the portal.
The last thing I saw was Matilda, dressed in a puff, heavy yellowish gradient gown, which was the darkest yellow at the bottom and the lightest above. Her eyes were painted with green eye shadow, her hair long and thick, brown in color, her lips painted darkest of green.
And she was drenched in white blood, or sap, her eyes closed, resting. Her hands were lifeless, bruised, so was her whole body.
She laid on the ground, unmoving.
Matilda, our greatest, wisest advisor, one of the oldest tree spirits to exist on Etis, was dead. Gone.
