'I like this beach.' I smiled at Ryan.
We were sitting on the shore of the Arabian sea in our school uniforms. I told my mom that I had Street Play practice and that I wrote the script so I had to be there. After I almost ate everyone alive back in Etis, Ryan brought me back home and promised that he'd clear things up.
He made me dumplings too.
Oh, how I love them now.
'I know I shouldn't have done that. Like, it was so wrong.' He sighed. 'I'm sorry Kashi.'
'Ryan Roy is admitting he's wrong? The air of Bombay has a different smell today.' I teased. He looked at me even more guiltily. 'It's fine actually. I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have snapped, I had no reason to. You were right in your place. You knew I like things like this. And I did like it. Just anxiety.' I smirked.
'So that means you still considering going back? I mean just to explore, like give it a try.' He quickly added.
'I love you, Ryan. I really do.' I smiled. I really did. It is then when I realized, I did feel for him. Because I felt lively around him. I loved the way he talked. I liked and longed for every single moment I spent with him. And there that guy was, looking at me so shocked as if I claimed that we were in Jupiter or that Justin Bieber was running for elections next year.
'No guy has the heart or the courage to respond negatively to this, Kashi. And I'm proud to manifest that indeed, I love you too, Karishma Renaud. And I want you in my life.'
I had not expected that to happen. It was the best day of my life. I had it in front of my eyes the whole time. Ryan and I were supposed to be together. The way we talked with each other, we have been with each other, we had to be in love. That is what love is, isn't it?
'I'm... I'm ready to give it another shot. I mean, Etis.' I squeezed Ryan's hand. 'By the way, how does this scrapping of existence thing happen?'
The happiness and the sparkle in his eyes, it was worth every word I said.
'This is some really strong magic by our space spirits. As usual, it's really unexplained you know. Let me actually tell you what happens in Etis. There's magic, there's technology, there's one of a kind things all around, and yet we never arrive at a certain set of rules or walls. Anything can happen in there.' I could sense pride in Ryan's voice. 'My dad is one of the Shalecs and that is why I decided to come and stay with him when I was six. I did regret it at first, but I must say the Earth's a beautiful place as well.'
'So, like are you a magician, or do you have wings?' I genuinely enquired.
'I'd answer that question only when we reach Etis.' He held my hand as we stood upon the sandy, bustling beach.
