Chapter 9
[A/N]Quick question, should I add shipping? I don't think it will really change anything in the story's plot, but still. What do you guys want? Also, keep in mind this is just a fan fic. XD I make it for fun and for you guys. It maybe a bit abriged, but I also do that purposely. I'll try not to as much, though. And anyone is welcome to make an abriged version of this. I would read it!

After searching for a bit, we found the entrance to the strange building. I was begining to think the creator of the builging was a troll, becasue the entrance was hidden in the back of the temple, and it was a tunnel. Vines covered the entrance, also. I was still a bit skeptical about going inside, but I knew the others were going to do it anyways. "Are you guys sure about this?" I asked as Lachlan was about to lead us down here. He simply nodded. 'Where else do we go? It's not like we have anything to lose-" Then Jerome cut in. "Besides the whole world." Lachlan rolled his eyes. "Not helping." He remarked. I sighed. "Okay, fine. But only because you insist!"
I didn't trust whoever put us here. But I did trust these guys. I don't know why, I just do. Maybe because they are the only people I can remember. I wish I could recall my life before all this happened, but I can't seem to pull up those distant memories.
"Coming?" Preston asked. "Yeah. Sorry." I guess I should just follow them now. I smiled. I can trust them. Because they look out for me. I was just glad I wasn't alone.
Aa we ventured further, it became a lot darker, and we had to rely on Preston for light. Yeah, I don't even understand how it worked but we practicly used him as a flashlight. Hey, desperate times require desperate measures. Our footsteps echoed in the dark hallway, and it was wet and damp. I was begining to regret coming down here, but I wouldn't show it.
"Vik, could you stop breathing on my neck?" Rob asked. "Sorry.' I said. 'Doods, I'm having the same problem." Mitch said from somewhere infront of us. "AHG! DAMNIT! WATER!' I heard the One and Only Preston yell.I held back some rude alughter, before I felt myself step in a puddle, getting my shoes wet. Then my shoes felt cold, which only added to the reasons of why I should've stayed behind. 'Little Vikky cold?' A voice in the back of my mind. 'Oh, great. Now I'm going insane. And nobody calls me that.' I thought scarcasticly, still trying not to breath on Rob's neck. 'You know your friends don't need you, right? You should have stayed behind....' I ignored it. I don't need strange voices telling me how to live my life. I just continued walking down the hall, following the others. I realized that the hallway was begining to widen. 'Thank Notch.' I thought. We all finally had room to do whatever. "Thank Notch finally!" Jerome cheered. "Spaaaace." he whispered. Mitch chuckled. From what I could see in the dim lighting, we were in an underground room. Vines hung from the ceiling, and the place look strait up abandoned. There was a statue of a man, and he was holding some sort of sword. The statue was made of obsidian, and the man seemed to be wearing a short sleeved shirt that was longer on one side, and he wore a some jeans. He reminded me of somebody but I couldn't recall who- "That's Herobrine!" Jerome pointed to the statue. 'Thanks, life.'
"It's a Heroshrine." I joked. Everyone turned to look at me, exept for Lachlan, who just facepalmed. 'Vik...no." Rob said. "THAT WAS GOOD AND YOU KNOW IT!" I yelled. "Woa, guys, come here. I think I found something." Mitch said. "What is it?" Preston asked. Mitch was bending over behind the statue, clearly looking at something. "Some sort of plauqe." he replied. I decided to go look. There were words engraved into the statue. They were small and hard to read... we needed light... we needed Preston! "Preston! Come here!" I called. "What?" "We need your light." I replied. "Okay. That's it?" I nodded. "Well, sure!" He walked over to us, providing light for us.
I watched as Mitch began to read, and the others gathered around, too. Maybe just because they couldn't hear well over there (which I highly doubt because everything echoes), or they wanted to be in on the action.
"Long ago, there were six heroes. Often they did deeds to Notch, wether it was helping out with small tasks or saving lives, these heroes-" I heard a noise that sounded like footsteps on the sandstone floor behind me, and I turned around to see no one there. I decided to investigate, while still listening to Mitch. "They defeated the feared Herobrine, but at the cost of their lives." I stood at the doorway to a hallway that branched off the main room where the others were. There was a wire attached to both sides of the doorway. "Though it is said they may come back, it also said they won't be as powerful at first, and will live normal lives until they are needed again.' The footsteps sounded like they were coming from over here. Suddenly I felt myself being pushed towards the ground. I landed with I slight thump and a click. A click... I pused myself up, and then I saw the trip wire. I had activated something. "What we don't know, tho-"
I looked around quickly to see if I'd done any damage, when I noticed something. 'The walls!' I thought franticly.
watching the wall slowly start to crumble speeding up in the process. I gasped. "Guys!" I called, drawing their attention. "Wha- Vik, look out!" Preston exclaimed. I looked up to see a crack in the ceiling. Then a chunk of rock began to fall, and it all happened in slow motion.
I really wished I had never agreed to come down here. I wanted to be away from this. Suddenly I felt like I was weightless, and everything was black. Then I felt something like weight drop in my chest, and I felt my feet hit the ground suddenly. I opened my eyes, and took a deep breath. I had no idea what just happened.
But what ever happened, I was alive... and on the opposite side of the room. "Vik!?" Lachlan yelled through the falling rubble. "Run!" Was the last thing I heard. I took his word for it. I looked for the entrance, finding it immediately. I dashed towards it, not wanting to get crushed. I dodged multiple rocks, but I felt some bruise my legs as I ran. Dust made it harder to see, and even harder to breathe. I dodged a rock, only to avoid getting hit with another. The exit was only a few blocks away.
I could make it.
I sprinted through the doorway and into the long hallway, dust clouding my vision in the darkness. The others must somehow be ahead of me. I put on an extra burst of speed when I soon realized the crashing behind me was only growing louder. I raced through the dark, narrow hallway, and ran as fast as I could, ignoring the pain in my gut. But how fast can you go when you have to constantly climb over rocks?
Through the rubble I could see a faint light ahead. I could see the silhouettes of some of the others. You think that would just give me more motivation, but instead, I felt myself slowing down. I splashed through a puddle, getting the bottom of my pants wet. I could see the light at the end of the tunnel growing bigger. I could make out exactly who was in front of me. It was Preston, Rob, and Lachlan.
"Guys!" I called. I only realized my mistake as soon as I felt an agonizing pain in my leg. I had stopped moving. A rock had fallen onto my leg, and I couldn't move. As the tunnel collapsed behind me, I wonder how I would get out of this one. My vision was beginning to get blurry. I was able to make out a silhouette of a person in front of me, though. I couldn't tell who. The thundering behind us grew louder, and I wondered if we would make it out.
Lachlan [ POV Change |:) ]
"He's still back there!" I yelled. "It's not worth it! You'll die, too!" Rob exclaimed. He grabbed my arm even tighter. "No!" I struggled from his grip and sprinted down the dark, crumbling corridor. I slowed down quickly as I emerged a small figure, bent over on the ground. There was some sort of rock on his leg. I noticed the destruction was getting closer, so I had to hurry. I tried pushing it off. I couldn't pick it up, it was too heavy. If only one of us had strength as a power, I thought.
I felt satisfaction as I rolled the large rock off, and quickly picked him up. I began to run, and luckily not tripping. As I ran, I felt pebbles hitting the back of my legs, and I realized how much of a close call that was. But I still needed to pick up the pace. Suddenly I felt warm light on my face and I tumbled out of the strange builing, or what's left of it, leaving it to finish collapsing behind me.
I stood up, Vik on the ground, and looked at Rob and Preston. "What the hell was that!?" I fumed. Preston sighed, and Rob looked away. "I-I... Lachlan, I didn't want you to die in there, okay?" Rob confessed. "Didn't want me to die? What about him?" I jestered to Vik on the ground. "I doubted you, okay?" Rob blurted. "Why?!" I asked. "I don't know! I wasn't thinking, okay? I'm sorry!"
"Does sorry help him?" I retorted. "No..."
I almost felt sorry for Preston, he didn't know what to say. Almost. He could've helped me. But did he?
[Another A/N lel] HAPPY BURDAY VIK! And this is what I do to him... Anyways, can I get some constructive criticism on my writing? .u. Thanks.
