Lachlan
"Race 'ya." I said, breaking the short-lived silence. "Race me?" Mitch asked. "Yeah." I smiled, walking steadily to the distant base, which was not yet in sight. "Okay." He replied simply. "Okay? We'll, c'mon!" I exclaimed, taking off running. I sprinted across the bare desert, the ground literally blurring under my feet. I saw the occasional cactus, which was really just a green blur. The sun was halfway down the sky, casting longer shadows and causing the sand to almost glow. I felt the wind whip through my hair, and I smiled and closed my eyes. Big mistake.

I felt myself trip over something, and skid across the sand. I swore under my breath, before standing up and coughing. Brushing myself off, I looked back the way I came. I made out a silhouette in the distance, which must've been Mitch. I laughed slightly. 'I must be the fastest person in Minecraftia.' I didn't think it was actually true.
Realizing I got distracted, I scanned the ground around me to see if I could find what tripped me. A shining book lay in the sand, it's position a bit awkward since I tripped over it. "What the hell?" I asked, picking it up. I opened it to the first page out of curiosity. I began to read silently:

"So I see you've found this. You must still be alive. That's great! You need to be... because the fate of the world may or may not lie in you and your friends hands...,"

'What!?!'

"but no need to fear! I'm sure you'll be alright! I mean, that is if you really are the people I thought you were. I'm sure you are." [A/N He's starting to sound like Phone Guy.]

"Sure I'm what?" I blurted out loud. "Anyways, you need to head to the Sky Base. There are people there who will welcome you.

Signed,
Notch"

"Notch?!" I exclaimed, staring at the page. I flipped through the rest of the pages. They were all blank. 'So maybe the book we found was Notch's lost diary... I wonder who has that?' I closed the book, and slid it into the pocket thing on my jacket. I heard footsteps in the sand behind me, and I turned around to see Mitch. He looked somewhat tired. "Lachlan," he started, "h-how did you do that?" I shrugged. "I don't know, mate. But I found this strange book," I told him, pulling out the book. "What does it say?" He asked, catching his breath still. I shook my head. "We should wait until we get back."
I started heading back twoards the base, this time not running. Mitch sighed from somewhere behind me. "This is so wierd." I glanced to the side, before agreeing. "I gotta agree with you."

We all stood in the main cave, well, some of us were sitting. You get the point. A fire was crackling and illuminating everyone in a soft glow. It was night time now, and everyone had been so quiet. I was getting suspicious.
I was standing near the entrance, Vikk was sitting on the floor near me, Rob sat by Vikk, Preston was leaning on the wall across from me, Mitch was also leaning on the wall by Jerome, who sat criss cross (applesauce?). Mitch was fiddling with his necklace, twirling it around his finger. "So... Lachlan? You said you found us another book?" Preston asked from his spot, leaning against the wall. "Yeah, mate." I replied, pulling the strange book out of my pocket. Mitch looked up from playing with his necklace. "How'd you know, Preston?" He asked. "I saw it in his pocket." Preston said simply. "And what do you mean 'another book'?" I asked, suspiciously looking at him. Rob sighed. "We haven't told them yet-" "Told us what!?" I questioned impatiently. There was silence.

'What are they hiding from me? Why would they hide anything from me?' I thought angrily, looking around the room. Vikk pulled his legs closer into this chest, Rob scooted further twoards the wall, as if he wasn't close enough. Jerome looked guilty of something, and Mitch looked around, confused as to what was happening. I managed to catch Preston's eye, but he looked away. "Anything to tell me?" I asked quietly. Jerome stood up.

"Yes, we do. Look, I'm sorry we didn't tell you two before, but you were gone when we discovered this! Look we're sorry. Just let me explain." He apologized calmy.

"Explain? You've had many opportunities for that! Sure, go ahead!" I snarled. I felt myself breathing heavier now. I was pissed.

Everyone seemed a bit startled by my sudden outburst. Especially Vikk. Jerome took a deep breath.
"Mitch, Lachlan, I'm sorry we kept this information to ourselves, but we need to tell you now. You read the book, right? So you know this has to do with Notch. We've come up with a theory that he wants us to save the world-" I opened my mouth to interrupt, but closed it, realizing it would be stupid. "-and he has given us, like, these superpowers."

Now I interrupt.

"So we need to save the world!?" I asked. "With superpowers?" Mitch shook his head. "I knew something was up with this."

Jerome cleared his throat, then continued. "Yea, that's what I got. Said something about challenges, too..."
"Well, now I know why I was able to run that fast." I smiled, feeling better about what happened. I would have had a hard time telling me, too.

[A/N Don keel me I know it's kinda short. But I'm gonna make some chapters long and some short. Is that okay? Okay.
