Chapter 4
Mitch (>:D)
I groaned subconsciously, unaware of really anything. All I remembered was- Wait, I didn't remember anything. All I felt was a pain in my right arm, which wasn't to severe, a fuzzy feeling in my head, and last but definitely not least, a funny, painful feeling throughout my whole body. I felt numb. I just couldn't seem to open my eyes. I remember going to sleep a few times, but didn't really dream. When I did, I dreamt I was cold, and hungry, and alone. But there were people all around me. It felt as though no one could see me, though. Occasionally I would feel like I was being jerked upwards.
Will this end...ever...? I thought through the hazyness (I'm going to act like that's a word. Right?).I do remember falling asleep again, and someone yelling my name...
"Mitch!" A familiar voice woke me yet again. "Jerome...?" I asked warily, opening my eyes to see him slouched over me. "He's awake!" Jerome shouted. I looked around a bit. I was in a large cave, lit by the light a couple of torches, scattered here and there. Lachlan and Preston were sitting by the cave wall, and Vikk and Rob were doing their own thing."Great! Now we can get moving againnnn," Lachlan stood up and turned around to see moonlight shining through the cave enterance. "Damn it." Lachlan sat back down. "Bro, how do you not notice that?" Rob asked.
I looked around, confused as to where I am, and how I got here. "Oh hey Mitch!" Preston said. "You were out for a few hours." "Can someone just tell me what's going on?" I asked. "Okay, do you remember when the mobs attacked?" Vikk asked. "Yeah." "Well, you were somehow knocked out. The base was messed up from creeper explosions, so we had to move on. Jerome volenteered to carry you, and now we're here, in this cave."
Nobody talked much after that.

"Well, I'm gonna get some sleep," Rob told us. "should some take the night shift?" I was sitting against the wall, carving a point on a stick I had found, using a rock. Now everyone was just sitting against the wall, because there isn't a whole bunch of options at 11:00 p.m in a dim cave with no connection with the outside world what-so-ever.
"Remember the last time someone took the night shift?" Vikk asked, a sleeping Lachlan by his side. "I don't think that is going to happen again. If it did, we'd be thankful that someone took the night watch." Preston pointed out. "Just stating the obvious."he said. Vikk nodded. "I guess it's true, but who would take the watch? We're all exausted." I stood up, stumbling a bit. "Guys, I'll do it." I declared. Jerome's expression hardened. "No, Mitch. You need to rest. You've got it the hardest out of all of us, biggums."
I looked at Jerome and smiled. "I'm taking this shift." I feel like I've just been a burden to them. I wanted to prove my own worth to the group. "Mitch, I honestly don't feel like you should. You need rest." Vikk added gently. I honestly did feel a little tired. I'm not sure what even happened, but if they want me to sleep, then I guess I have no other choice. I sat back down and sighed as Jerome took his post. Rob layed down somewhere near Preston (I'm not gonna ask).
The watch may not seem that important, but beyond the City, survival is hard. Night time is the worst. That's when the mobs come out. At night, if you don't keep a watch, there is a good chance you will... well... die. But if you can make a house, your fine. Why don't we just block up the entrance? I didn't want anyone hurt, or worse. If someone were to go outside and get sniped by skeletons, or plagued by zombies... But Jerome would've seen them by now. I should stop assuming th worst."Guys, why don't we just block off the entrance?" I asked. Vikk facepalmed. "Why didn't we think of this before?"he frowned. "Well, we can only use sand or cactus." Preston noted. "Hey, that's good enough!" Jerome smiled, glancing back to look for mobs. Are we in a desert biome? We must be.
"I'll get the sand, because I'm closer to it than any of you. Obviously." Jerome laughed, I guess trying to further lighten the mood. I shifted my weight, uncomfortable against the hard, stone wall. Once again all was quiet in our setup. We were all exausted anyways. "Hey guys, why didn't we get anything to make beds?" I asked. "Preston was in charge of getting this place set up." Vikk said, looking at Preston. "What? I need a reminder every once in a while! There were no sheep! It's a desert biome!" Preston exclaimed. "Guys it okay."I chuckled. "I think we'll manage to survive the night." {Insert Survive the Night by MandoPony here}
"I'm done!" Jerome exclaimed cheerfully. I had forgotten about Jerome... I looked at the entrance to see a baracade of sand blocking the cave off from mobs. "Did I do gud?" He asked. "You do gud." I told him.
Rob (Oh snap! POV change!)
I guess no one had realized that I had wandered off to explore more of the cave. Strange, but I'm okay with it. I had brought a torch with me... I've never been a big fan of the dark.
The strange thing about this cave, is that it continously gets steeper as you go down. But, yet again, I've never been in a cave. But what really creeps me out was how smooth and congruent the cave walls were.
"This is bogus." I murmured as I continued to walk down the strange tunnel. My footsteps echoed around the walls. It made me want to look back and see if anyone was following. Until I slipped.
I felt myself fall for a second, before landing on my back and catching myself using my elbows. Smooth move, Robert. I stood up, and brushed myself off. It was starting to get way too damp in there. I continued walking yet again, this time more aware of all the slick puddles.
As the light of my torch started to fade, I was about to turn around. I didn't think the trip was worth it. Especially when I came to then of the cave. Until I found a strange button on the wall. It was on the side of the cave, and a redstone torch emitted a faint red light next to it.
I don't think I should touch it... I thought, studying the strange button. But how would I know what it does? I hesitantly pushed the stone button, a loud click echoing around the tunnel. I closed my eyes tight, waiting to regret my decision as TNT rained from the heavens, but soon heard the sound of pistons. I opened my eyes, to see that now the wall in front of me was gone, replaced by a doorway. I walked trough it, to find a gaint room. In the middle was something I'd never seen before. It was a statue of us. It was made of diamonds, shimmering in the glowstone. I gasped. I'd never seen anything like it. I started walking twoards it, until I heard a click and the sound of arrows firing. I closed my eyes tight, preparing for instant death, but it never came. Confused, I opened my eyes. The arrows were stopped in midair, and a deep blue forcefield surrounded me. I was even more confused. Did I do that?!
I reached out to touch it, and the blue aura dissapeared. The arrows fell to the ground."Interesting..!" I said. I heard two sets of footsteps coming from behind me, and I turned to see what it was.I wondered if a group of mobs had found me. I picked up one of the arrows off the ground, to use as a weapon if it came to that. I turned around quickly, only to see Preston and Vikk standing behind me, gazing around the room, before resting their gaze on me. "Did you do that, Rob?" Vikk asked out of curiousity, breaking the short-lived silence. "Do what?" I asked, wondering if they saw whatever the Nether I just managed to do. "That arrow forefield thingy. That was cool, man!" Preston exclaimed. Their voices echoed around the large underground room, and I wondered if the others could hear us.
"I wonder how I did that, I mean, that's not right." I asked aloud, echoing my thoughts. "Yeah, it must be like Lachlan's super speed. It's just not natural." Preston agreed. "I wonder if it has something to do with the strange books." I wondered. Preston shrugged.
"We should head back," Vikk said suddenly, as if something had spooked him. ''We should come back tomorrow with the rest of the pack." Vikk stated quickly. The Pack? I like that name. I decided. "I agree, but Rob, why did you wander off by yourself? We were worried!" Preston exclaimed. I looked away, avoiding eye contact. "I was curious. It was bothering me." I admitted. "It's okay, but please don't do it again. Can we leave now?" Vikk asked, looking past the huge statue of us in the center of the room. "Okay, okay!" Preston laughed. I wonder what's worrying Vikk. Maybe it was me?' He seemed freaked out. It's probably just my mind over reacting.. I decided as we made our way back to the main cave, or at least that's what I'm calling it. "Guys, please don't tell them about what you saw until tomorrow." I begged in a whisper. We were at the end of the tunnel, right by where the guys were asleep. "It's okay, Robert. We won't." Preston smiled, before walking off. Vikk just nodded, still looking like he just saw a ghost or something. He was about to walk away, but before he could, I put my hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong, Vikk?" I asked quietly. He turned around. "Nothing. Just tired." He said, looking away from my gaze. "Vikk..." "What?" He asked. I sighed. "Just..." I put on a fake smile, to reassure him. "Keep your voice down."
