Mere Illusion

Jenx Blaze POV

"Elsa-!" Jack yells, but it was too late, she jumped into the force that the group was harbouring.

He trembles, the shaking reaching his bones.

It went all silent, the force was gone and so was Elsa. The force repelled the group performing the ritual, and they were on the ground weak.

It's my fault, I told her that this was her chance to become useful, and now she's gone. I can see Jack gripping the ground and looking down, his emotions out of control.

Jack stands up, but he seems unstable, and slowly walks towards the centre of the stones, he looks at the burnt empty spot. Realising that she left without a real trace.

He abruptly turns to the men on the floor with anger, and his eyes turn to the true demon, black covering his eyes.

"Heh," Jack wryly laughs, "You get rid of evil things, but doing an evil thing. You're all disgusting."

He grabs a man lying on the floor, and aggressively throws him toward a stone. The man gets hit harshly.

"St-top!" Another man weakly yells.

"You mortals, you don't know what you've done..." Jack mutters, he was just about to strike the man, but knowing that they will die so quickly... I can't let this slide.

I weild the dark matter in my palm, and throw it into Jack's gut, stopping him from attacking.

"Get a grip!" I shout at him, "Attacking them will do nothing, Elsa will not return!"

Jack recovers quickly, "Whose fault is that?!"

"Elsa's. It's her fault." I answer, "It was her choice, she knew the circumstances."

"You..." He mutters, "Do you not care?"

"I care," I respond, "However, grieving will not help. It is still undetermined whether Elsa is alive."

Jack gasps.

"The men's plans were to create a ritual purely off banishment to another world, but the barrier around this land was made for us evil beings to disappear. So possibly, Elsa was banished somewhere, but she could of disappeared if she can't tolerate that amount of power." I explain.

Jack walks up to the weak man on the floor and lifts him up by the collar.

"You, where did you want us to be banished to?" He asks with such agressive eyes.

"I-I don't know, we originally planned for Hell, but since we had a barrier and assumed you would disappear we just used the basic foundation ritual." The man says, struggling to speak. Jack drops him onto the floor.

"Listen pilgrims, you will lower these barriers at once. Or else you'll be coming to Hell with me. There you can indulge in you're favorite things." He threatens them, Jack turns around to face me and asks, "Does Elsa still exist?"

"Highly likely." I predict and Jack's face lights up, I continue speaking, "But since that ball of power created by the ritual wasn't dispersed... Elsa walked into a very concentrated piece of energy. The more powerful the energy is the deeper you fall into banishment."

"But she's alive, we can go get her no matter the place." Jack says, full of hope.

"No, she has likely fallen into somewhere, that many have failed to travel to. Which is a gap world, small duplicated universes which hides beneath the sheets of the stars. So she made it to a universe inside our own universe." I tell him.

Jack widens his eyes, "Time travel!"

I nod, "It's useless, it will be impossible to save her."

"What?! We can just do the same thing Elsa did! Walk into that ball of energy!" He argues.

I shake my head, "There are many universes within our own, it is nearly impossible for us to land on the same one. Us even landing on a Gap World, would be hard."

He tightens his fist, "So what do we do?"

"Nothing. She's pretty much dead." I shrug. Jack grabs my shoulder.

"Why? Why do you keep giving up when you know there's a chance?" He asks me with sincerity.

"Because people make you believe that you have a chance, but really it is a mere illusion." I respond and look down.

"Who made you believe that?" Jack asks.

I look at him in disgust, "You!" I shout, "I've always wanted to be the greatest, even rule Hell. And no matter how much I impressed my father, and how much better I look against you... I can't beat you! I acted like I accepted the fact you'd be ruler, but one of my hidden desires was to rule Hell with my obtained strengths and skills!"

"... Why did you want to rule Hell?" Jack asks me softly.

"Because, I would have accomplished something where the chances were the narrowest." I simply answer.
