I groaned, opening my eyes to find myself face to face with a girl. She had silver hair that had been roughly cut at the shoulders, and was wearing what seemed to be a mix of animal skins. Her bright green eyes were wide with surprise as she hovered over me.

I let out a squeak of surprise, and the girl jumped back. I sat up, squinting my eyes as I became briefly dizzy, letting out another groan as I blinked furiously.

After my eyesight was fixed, I stared at the girl expectantly. She had her head tipped to one side, squatting a bit away from me.

"Who are you?" she asked, sounding incredibly curious.

"I-I'm..." I paused, wondering if I should tell her the truth.

"Call me Temperance, or just Temp for short." I said without much thought. I was more confused and trying to work out my location then coming up with a good name.

"Temperance... I swear I've heard that before... Oh! I'm Silver, nice to meet you!" She smiled happily, before noticing the confusion on my face.

"Yeah! So what happened to you is that somehow your twin didn't die when you did and now you're a ghost of sorts!" She said. At that moment, I realized I was wearing nothing but a animal skin blanked wrapped around me and felt my face heat up. "When you wake up, you wake with an inanimate object that is very treasured by you. In your case, you have a picture of a bunch of people with a picture of two girls clipped to it and then a baby picture." She said, handing me the pictures she described.

I looked down at them and smiled, and she walked over to me to look over my shoulder. "Who are they?"

"I'd rather not tell..." I said, giving her a look.

"Here, I'll take you to our camp." Said Silver, helping me stand up.

"Our?"

"Cricket, Usis, and me! Come on!" She said, holding my hand and practically dragging me through a forest with beautiful leaves of brown, red, orange and yellow with the sun shining through in rays.

She led me to a couple of shelters constructed with sticks, leaves, and mud, with a fire surrounded by stones in front of them.

A young girl sat there, cooking what seemed to be a rabbit that had been skinned. She looked up, giving me a confused look.

"This is a newcomer! Cricket, meet Temperance! Temp, meet Cricket!" said Silver excitedly. Cricket smiled warmly at me.

"Where's Usis?" asked Silver.

"She went to get more wood." said Cricket, returning to her work.

Silver nodded, before dragging me over to the fireplace and forcing me to sit down.

She tiled her head up to the sky, seeing the sun was close to the center of the sky through the trees.

"It's soon, I hope Usis makes it in time." Said Silver, looking back at me.

"What's soon?"

"When the sun hits the highest point in the sky, we are all sent down to the living world. We can go to certain people, or just wander around and wonder what the world has come to." Explained Cricket. She finished cooking her chicken and pulled it out, placing it on a piece of bark that looks to have been smoothed many times. She looked up to see a girl with golden brown hair run into the clearing, dropping a bunch or sticks and giving me a confused look before --

I was falling, my hair whipping around me as I fell.

Suddenly, I was standing in a field, full of tall grass.

There was a farmilar woman standing there, her short blonde hair moved with the grass in the wind, as she stood before it with her head down.

Holding her hand was a young girl, seeming to be about two or three. She had long dirty blonde hair and the same eyes as the woman. She clutched a little fox plushie in one arm.

"Is this where mommy sleeps?" Asked the girl, looking up at the woman.

"Yes. This is where mommy sleeps." Replied the woman, turning to face the girl.

"When will mommy wake up?"

"I don't know, honey."

Silence settled between them, before the little girl yawned cutely. The woman smiled briefly, before bending down and picking up the girl.

She walked away, leaving me in a stunned silence.

"Temperance...?" I snapped back into reality and chased them, seeing the woman get into the driver's seat. I climbed through her to the passenger seat.

She began driving as the little girl slept, snoring lightly. Her heart melted when she saw the little girl.

"How long was I out?" I muttered, watching her.

The driver turned in the radio quietly, as it went onto a news channel.

"Today, three years ago, Paradox's beloved hero Foxi was shot and killed." Said an announcer, and my jaw dropped.

"Three years...?"

"In honor of our lost hero and her Squad, we will be telling the story of The Squad again. It was recently updated after we received some more evidence, so keep an eye out for that coming after this short break!"

The driver shook her head, turning down the volume as a insurance ad came on.

"Dangit Skipper. Why'd you have to die?"
