Chapter Twenty
The three Jedi appeared out of hyperspace in front of a blue planet which she assumed was Kamino. Alina detached her fighter from the hyperspace ring as she, Sylvie and Obi-Wan made their way into Kamino's atmosphere. "There it is. Right where it should be. Our missing planet" Obi-Wan said. They descended further down. There was a thick layer of stormy clouds. Lightning flashed and rain beat down on them while the sea churned. Alina was normally very fond of water, it was a very pricy thing on Tatooine and there was nearly never enough. Rain was something completely unheard of but here it seemed to be in plenty as they flew down to one of the places that the Kaminoans resided in, landing on a large grey circular pad.
Alina exited the fighter, she pushed her damp hair away from her face. Unlike the two Jedi knights and Anakin she didn't have a robe or a hood. As they approached the glass doors slid open to let in the Jedi. They were greeted by the sight of a tall, slender alien with skin as white as the walls who walked towards them "Master Jedi" from the way their voice sounded Alina made the assumption that the Kaminoan was a she. "The prime minister is expecting you" she stated. "We're expected?" Obi-Wan asked in surprise "Of course. He is anxious to meet you after all these years we were beginning to think you weren't coming" She responded "Now please, this way" The Padawan glanced at the knights. Obi-Wan gave her a look that told her to play along while Sylvie looked a bit uneasy despite the Kaminoan's soft voice.
The Kaminoan led them through many hallways. They were all sparkling white and identical. Alina couldn't help but feel a bit self conscious in her damp form, trailing bits of water and mud behind her which tainted the otherwise sparkling hallways yet the Kaminoan seemed not to notice. Fnally entered a room where in another Kaminoan was seated in the center. The Kaminoan stood up as they approached. "May I present, Lama Su. Prime minister of Kamino" The first Kaminoan said. The Jedi exchanged looks as they bowed respectfully. "And this is Master Jedi..." She allowed them to finish
"Obi-Wan Kenobi and this is my Padawan learner Alina Skywalker" The Jedi knight lied. Alina nodded playing along. "Sylvie Kryze" Sylvie said, offering a small respectful bow to the prime minister. "I trust you're going to enjoy your stay" The Prime Minister said as three chairs floated down. He gestured to them "Please" The Jedi moved to sit on their chairs while the Prime Minister sat on his again "And now to business. You will be delighted to hear that we are on schedule" he stated. "200,000 units are ready with a million more well on the way" Alina exchanged glances with Sylvie then looked at Obi-Wan who had visible confusion plastered all over his face "That's uh good news" he said. "Please tell your Master Sifo-Dyas that his order will be met on time" The Prime Minister said. "I'm sorry, Master Sifo-Dyas?" Sylvie asked. "Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas is still a leading member of the Jedi Council is he not?" Lama Su asked. "Master Sifo-Dyas was killed almost ten years ago" Obi-Wan stated. Alina tried and probably failed to keep the confusion off her face, who was this Master Sifo-Dyas?
"I'm so sorry to hear that but I'm sure he would have been proud of the army we have built for him" The Prime Minister said. "The army?" Alina echoed "Yes, a clone army and I must say, one of the finest we have ever created" Lama Su stated. "Tell me, Prime Minister when my Master first contacted you about the army did he say who it was for?" Obi-Wan asked. "Ofcourse he did. This army is for Republic but you must be anxious to inspect the units for yourself" The Kaminoan said. The three Jedi exchanged yet another few looks "That's why we're here" Obi-Wan lied. The Prime Minister stood up as he left the room to lead the two Jedi knights to see the army that was built.

Sylvie walked alongside Obi-Wan and the Kaminoans on the glass walled hallway, overlooking the thousands of clone birthing pods. Alina walked closer to the glass, cocking her head to the side as she peered down at the (admittedly handsome) clones. "Very impressive" Obi-Wan remarked. "It's amazing how you managed to do all this" Sylcie said 'Without anybody knowing' she added to herself silently "I'd hoped you would be pleased" Lama Su said. "Clones can think creatively. You will find that they are immensely superior to droids" he said the word 'droids" with disdain "We take great pride in our combat education and training programs. This ground was created about five years ago" he looked pointedly down at a group of identical children. "You mentioned growth acceleration" Obi-Wan said. "Oh yes, it's essential otherwise a mature clone would take a lifetime to grow. Now we can do it in half the time"
"I see..." Obi-Wan murmured as they surveyed a ground of older looking clones all dressed in red "They are totally obedient, taking any order without question. We modified their genetic structure to make them less independent than the original host" The Prime Minister said. "And who is this, original host?" Sylvie asked. "A bounty hunter called Jango Fett" Lama Su answered. Alina looked away from the clones, looking at Sylvie and both looked at Obi-Wan. It was clear that they were thinking the same thing. Zam Wessel's mystery hirer and killer. "And where is this bounty hunter now?" Obi-Wan asked. "Oh we keep him here" The Kaminoan responded "Apart from his pay, which is considerable, Fett demanded only one thing: An unaltered clone for himself. Curious isn't it?" He asked. "Unaltered?" Obi-Wan asked "Pure genetic replication. No tampering with the structure to make it more docile and no growth acceleration" Lama Su stated.
"We would like to meet this Jango Fett" Sylvie said. "I would be very happy to arrange it for you" The first Kaminoan, Taun We responded. They finally came to a spot on a balcony and what it overlooked stunned Sylvie. There thousands of clones, all dressed in white armor. Some marched forward or up and down ramps while many others stayed still and others moved to stand to attention. "Magnificent, aren't they?" Lama Su asked. "Very" Sylvie said quietly before looking at Obi-Wan. Despite the Kaminoans claiming that this clone army was for the republic as Sylvie looked down at the identical white clad figures she couldn't help but have a bad feeling about it.
