They push them just enough so that they almost just almost break.

Every year, students race to secure a place at Caldwell University, the prestigious institution that is the crown jewel of the Valmont legacy. Only the best of the best go from Valmont to Caldwell.

But for the top students of Valmont Academy, it's not just about making it into the university. It's about becoming the very best. The top ten students all aspire for that coveted spot at Caldwell University, but only two can make it. The pressure is unimaginable, and as the year progresses, the stakes only get higher.

This year, however, there's something different. The competition is fiercer than ever. The students ranked at the top—ambitious, brilliant, and lethal. They are far more determined than the past candidates. They each hold a unique skill or talent, from impeccable leadership and flawless debate skills to groundbreaking research and near-perfect grades. And yet, they all know that only two will be chosen for Caldwell University. And that makes them ruthless, because to them they have nothing to lose.

There was no doubt that Laura Monroe would get accepted into Caldwell. She had been ranked number one since she was a freshman, and never went down. She was consistent with her grades, making her the very best, and everyone hated her for it.

Many hated her, so why were they all so shocked when she ended up missing just days before the final selection process? It seemed as if the entire academy was thrown into chaos. Is she hiding from the pressure? Or has something far darker occurred?

As rumors spread, suspicions rise among the top ten. In the highly competitive world of Valmont Academy, no one can be trusted. With the final rankings looming and Laura's fate uncertain, the other students are forced to confront their darkest fears. Did someone in the top ten orchestrate her disappearance to secure their place at the university? Or is something more sinister at play?

The academy becomes a battleground not just for academic achievement, but for survival. Each of the top ten students is forced to ask themselves: What would I do to get into Caldwell University? The competition becomes more than just a race for success—it becomes a fight for the truth, as students are drawn into a dangerous game of manipulation, betrayal, and perhaps even murder.

Will they be able to uncover the truth of what happened to Laura, or will a new student rise to the top in the end?
