Chapter 14: Another Good Super Soldier

On the plane, the three heroes just sat in silence for a bit.

"You two alright?" Sam asked.

"As alright as we can be," Y/N responded.

"Let's take the shield, guys. Lets take the shield and do this ourselves," Bucky said.

"We can't just run up on the man, beat him up, and take it. Do you remember the last time we stole it?" Sam pointed out.

"Maybe," Bucky answered.

"I'll help you out there," Y/N said then enlightened, "Sharon was branded enemy of the state, and Steve and Sam were on the run for two years."

"Yeah. I don't know about you, but I don't wanna live the rest of my life la vida loca. We just got our asses handed to us by Super Soldiers, and we got nothing," Sam replied.

"Not entirely true," Bucky said.

Sam and Y/N looked at him in confusion. Bucky then brought himself and Y/N to sit by Sam.

"There is someone that you two should meet," Bucky told them.

They then headed in that direction, which was in Baltimore, Maryland.

They walked through the streets in their regular clothes.

(A/N Your outfit.)

After Sam messing with some kids in a good way, they came upon what looked like an abandoned house. Bucky then knocked on the door and it didn't take long for a young man to answer the door.

"We're here to see Isaiah," Bucky said.

"Nobody named Isaiah live here," the man told him.

"Look, we just want to talk to him," Bucky continued.

"You must not hear what I just said. You ain't getting in this house. Y'all can leave now," the man remarked.

"Tell him the guy from the bar in Goyang is here. He's gonna know what that means," Bucky replied.

The man sighed and said, "Alright. Wait here."

He then left to get him.

"Nice kid. How do you know this guy?" Y/N asked.

"I used to. We had a skirmish during the Korean War," Bucky explained.

Then the man came back.

"Today's your lucky day. He said he wanna see for himself," he said.

They went inside to see an older black man.

"Isaiah?" Bucky asked.

"Look at you," Isaiah remarked.

"This is, uh, Sam and my wife, Y/N. Sam, Y/N, this is Isaiah. He was a hero. One of the ones that HYDRA feared the most. Like Steve and Y/N. We met in '51," Bucky introduced.

"If by met, you mean I whooped your ass, then yeah," Isaiah remarked.

Bucky managed a small smile.

"We heard whispers he was on the peninsula, but everyone they sent after him, never came back. So the U.S. military dropped me behind the line to go deal with him. I took half that metal arm in that fight in Goyang, but I see he's managed to grow it back. I just wanted to see if he got the arm back. Or if he'd come to kill me," Isaiah explained.

"I'm not a killer anymore," Bucky said.

"And you never were. You were under HYDRA's control. That wasn't Bucky Barnes," Y/N said.

"You think you can wake up one day and decide who you wanna be?" Isaiah asked.

"It's worked for some people," Y/N commented.

"Well, it doesn't always work like that. Well, maybe it does for folks like you," Isaiah said.

"Isaiah, the reason we're here...is because there's more of you, me, and Y/N out there," Bucky replied.

"You, me, and your wife," Isaiah repeated.

"And we need to know how," Bucky continued.

"I'm not gonna talk about it anymore," Isaiah snapped and threw a tin can into the wall where it stuck.

They all looked at it in shock before looking back at Isaiah.

"You know what they did to me for being a hero? They put my ass in jail for 30 years. People running tests, taking my blood, coming into my cell. Even your people weren't done with him," Isaiah snapped.

Y/N, on instinct, gently grabbed Bucky's arm in comfort.

"Isaiah.." Sam tried to say.

"Get out of my house!" Isaiah yelled.

"Let's go, guys, let's go," the man said as he lead them out of the house.

They left, two of them in confusion.
