Chapter 13
< Lia's POV >
I stood up on my own for what seemed like the first time in years, a grin breaking onto my face as I looked out the door,"These legs aren't goin' yet!"
Mira had told me I might've broken my legs, and that they may not heal if I wasn't careful, but I was, I was very careful.
I had stayed in that damned bed for three months.
THREE.
MONTHS.
That's such a long time when you're someone like me, who is always doing something. Mira actually taught me how to play the guitar I was here so long, Gajeel tried, but Natsu said his ears might bleed.
The kid hasn't come back yet, I think she thinks I'm dead. Natsu went out looking for her with Gajeel multiple times, just trying to pick up a scent of her, anything to lead us towards her.
They didn't find anything, and once Natsu came back the day she left, it started to rain. We lost all hope of finding (Y/N).
She's too good at hiding, half of her life was in hiding. She's gone, not a wisp of her cheery laugh, a sight of her sparkling (E/C) eyes, not a strand of her (H/C) hair anywhere.
She's basically disappeared.
We've all tried to move on, but it's hard, the least we can do is act as if everythings alright when, really, it's not.
Natsu and Gajeel even managed to get the help of Sabertooth to find her, but they said she wasn't anywhere in their town, then they went to Blue Pegasus, Quatro Cerberus, so on and so forth.
Now, here we are, three months later, and I'm going after her now that I'm walking.
I walked out the door shakily, leaning against the doorframe as the guild looked up at me. I grinned,"Hey! I'm alright!" I yelled, the guild erupting into cheers.
I went down the stairs, and almost tripped a few times, my legs seeming foreign and new to me after so long. I sat at the bar, grinning at Mira,"Glad you helped me out. I appreciate it."
"It's no issue! I'm glad to help!" She tilted her head as she smiled, giggling.
"Glad to hear it."
< (Y/N)'s POV >
I've been sheltered at Sabertooth, Sting and Rogue watching over me like protective brothers. They told me one time that Fairytail came by, looking for me, but they steered them away, which I was grateful for.
I haven't grown close to anyone in my time here, minus Sting, who I barely knew when I came here. He's visited me, usually with Rogue, at my dorm room in the guildhall, checking in on me.
It's made me feel better about everything that went down, but one thought continued to nag at my mind, 'What if Kylo and Rose weren't lying.'
The thought came often, sharp, like a knife being quickly dragged across my mind and cutting my thoughts open, invanding them. I didn't like the feeling, it made me feel... Vulnerable, which I hate feeling.
I've been sitting in this dorm room for a long time now, getting up once to open the door for Rogue, then sitting back down when he left.
I kept being left alone with my thoughts, which isn't a good thing. Once, I lashed out at Sting for being such a, and I quote,'Dirty whore who only wants to get to know me because of my fabulous body'
I mean
Really?
THATS WHY I LASHED OUT AT HIM?!
FOR BEING A DIRTY WHORE.
WHAT AM I IN, MIDDLE SCHOOL?
(How dare I insult myself)
God above, save my sanity, I need it, now more than ever.
Anyways...
I was currently standing at my door, hand hovering above the handle as I stood there. My mind raced, should I even go down there? I need money, but what if people recognize me? Oh, god, why is it so difficult to just leave?!
Whatever! I dropped my hand onto the handle and pulled the door open, walking out of the dark apartment and into the light of midday, sunlight filtering through the large windows of the guildhall. I closed the door behind me, walking down the stairs into the lively area.
Unconsciously, I started toying with shadows on one hand, nervously looking for a familiar face, almost a family resemblance.
Walking over to a table off to the side, I slid down across from Rogue, my head on my forearms,"Hi Rogue."
"Hello, (Y/N)." He said, as if not noticing this was my first time out of my room.
"Wanna go on a quest with me?"
"I can't, Frosh is sick and I need to take care of him."
"Tell Frosh I hope he gets better! Poor thing," I pursed my lips, before letting them return to normal,"Do you know anyone else who's not busy?"
"Well, there's Yukino,-" Nope, barely know her. "-Minerva,-" Absolutely not. Excuse me she looked at me and hated me. "-And I'm sure Stings just relaxing in his office at the moment." Bingo.
"Alright, thanks Rogue." I said, smiling and standing up,"Uh, where's his office, exactly?"
"Down the main hallway, first door to the left."
"Got it, thanks again!" I said, moving away from the table and back up the stairs.
Bumping into someone, I stumbled down a step or two, managing to grab the railing and not fall down the stairs gracefully,"Hey!" I said, glaring at the person I bumped into.
He just looked down at me, and tsked, before walking around me,"Watch where you're going, Fairy scum."
"What did you just say?!" I shouted, and the guildhall went quiet, now interested in the scene playing out.
"I said, watch where you're going, Fairy scum. Do you need a hearing aid or something?" He shot over his shoulder, glaring back.
As a light blue soul made it's way onto my hand, Sting rushed out,"Joker, (Y/N), stop it! I don't need more paperwork!"
The man, Joker apparently, just rolled his eyes and tsked,"She's not worth my time anyways." He said, walking down the staircase calmly.
