Half A Discovery

Rapunzel

"Intruders!  Not only have they endangered themselves and others, they have snooped, and broken into our private meeting!" Mother Gothel yells, not at all surprised that they are at the meeting. The angry crowd murmurs in agreement.  "Where is the little bear?" asks Mother Gothel.

"She has more common sense than that. I was just one mistake, and has never happened before. Obviously she couldn't care less that you're having a meeting without her." Goldy says, for once having a little common sense of her own.

"She is not the one we have come to punish anyway."

"This is pure nonsense!" Snow shouts in a small pure voice.  All heads swivel to look at her.  The second everyone else's attention is off of her, Goldy pulls out her Swiss army knife.

"Psst!" Jack looks in her direction. "Here." She passes him her knife, after making an escape hole in her own net.

"Why❓" I  ask, as this is happening.

"We are in danger of death! We should be plotting out escape! Not how to punish little mistakes! Haven't you ever made a mistake Gothel?" Snow's voice rising with every word until she is screaming. Surprised by the usually meek girl's display. Goldy and Jack, take the opportunity to escape. The other people at the meeting agree, and soon we are bombarding Mother Gothel. "I only came because you said there'd be hexing, like a prank!" Cries Spammy.

"I only came cause you're my mother😡" "Stop! We cannot punish Gothel for a little mistake either! What kind of people are you, must you always give someone the blame? If it's anyone's fault it's mine! It was my stepmother's curse that put us in here after all!" Bursting into tears, Snow runs from the tent.

"Wait!" Cinderella, and Rosy yell chasing after her. "I understand! If my stepmother had magic, I'm sure I would have died alongside my father the second she got our money." Ella's cry could be heard from across the campsite.  Roary walks into the tent, immediately taking charge. "What is the meaning of this ruckus, I was trying to sleep!" Not the least bit sheepish, Mother Gothel starts to tell her of the plan.

"I was planning a pun-"

"Pure idiocy! Do you not realize the peril we are currently in?" Roary asks, not even letting her finish. "Well since we are here, we might as well plan our escape. Someone fetch Goldy and Jack-"

"What! They escaped?" In all the hullaballoo, I was the only one who noticed their escape.

"-Someone fetch Goldy and Jack." Roary repeats.  "I'm sure that Ella Rosy and Snow will return shortly." I  hop up to find Goldy and Jack, just as the threesome renter the tent. "Glad to see you've returned, Snow!" Roary says cheerfully. Snow nods and returns to her seat.  Long into the night, we discuss escape plans, but a feeling of dread pressed itself upon the us. One of our friends sitting around the table, was going to die.  The next morning we have no new ideas. The things said at the meeting were quickly rejected as too dangerous, or having no facts to prove they are at all possible. For breakfast we have some delicious zoom zoom, or blueberry pancakes prepared by Wolfgang.  After breakfast, as everyone packs up their things, there is an odd sound. It is the sound of when glass shatters, and we rushe out to find the cause of the terrible noises. An orb appears in the sky, this time quickly flattening. A young girl, looking to be about nine falls from the sky, and the orb disappears. Luckily, her pretty blue dress catches the air, and she floats slowly and safely to the ground. When the little girl alights upon the ground and sees the strangers surrounding her, she begins to weep.

"I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it." she explains, tears streaming down her face, after a long pause, and lots of comforting from Ella, Punzy, Rosy, and Snow.

"What do you mean sweetheart?" asks Ella.

"I told myself not to go back down the rabbit hole. I knew it was a bad idea. But I didn't listen. Now I'm here, surrounded by stangers, in a stranger world than Wonderland!" Fat tears roll down the girls face, as a freakishly large smile appears out of nowhere. Rosy shrieks, and the little girl looks up. "Oh don't worry. That's just Chessie."

"Chessie?" Snow asks. A head, then body, and finally tail grow from the smile. With a dark purple body, the cat looks even weirder than the smile could make it. Pink stripes ripple across the fur, making him a... purple tabby?

"I wouldn't say it's stranger. At least no one is mad here."  The cat laughs. "Wait a second! I'm mad. So I guess this place does have crazys, Alice." Alice drys her tears.

"At least I know you Chessie. I guess that means I'm not alone. Chessie disappears, although Alice doesn't seem at all afraid of being left alone again. Suddenly Goldy feels hot breath on her neck.

"Jack, stop breathing on me!"

"I'm not!" He says backing up to prove it.

"Then who is?!" Goldy asks unable to hide her worry.

"Stop it Chessie, you know people don't like that!" Chessie appeared on Goldie's shoulder and disappeared.

"Hey!" Dorian yells, quickly pulling up his pants, but not before everyone saw his froggy boxers.

"Chessie!" Alice looks so angry that the gigantic smile quick turns small and sheepish. The oddball cat reappears in Alice's arms.  Slowly but surely the crowd around Alice disperses, until it is just Alice, Snow, me, Ella, and Rosy.

"I'll clear your tents for you." I  say, eager to be helpful. The girls nod, then explain what has happened to Alice, who's bottom lip begins to quiver.

Chessie

"Oh no, don't cry!" Snow cries.

"Yes, you must have courage." Ella says.

"And crying will do nothing. it doesn't help." Rosy finishes.

Alice juts out her chin, saying, "I have courage! I won't cry!"

"Atta girl!" Ella smiles.

"What a brave little girl you are too! How old are you six?" Snow exclaims, knowing that children love to brag about their age, and purposefully guessing too low.

"No, Im almost eight! I'm already seven and a half!" She says happily, adding the half like without it it'd be the end of the world. Rosy smiles.

"A whole half a year! Wow! Your almost a grown up!"  Suddenly the mermaids emerge from the pond, looking flustered.

"What is it?" Ella asks.

"We've found an exit." They announce, once again causing everyone to run from their tents.

Roary

"But if you can't breath water then it is impossible."

"You have to go. If you don't go, that's an exit wasted." 'And we won't have to worry about you dying.' I add in my head.

"But what of you?" I am already done listening however. Mother Gothel lets Emerelda turn. When she  lets go of her protection, and Emerelda transforms into a small emerald green frog. She hops over to Dorian, who kneels, and kisses her on the forehead. He transforms, and they hop over to the lake.

"We will miss you all."   "Goodbye😢" We say our farewells, and the ten swimmers, enter the lake, never to resurface.
