Arima Kousei POV:

If there's only one thing I was able to be happy about ever since I became Jupiter's heir to his throne, it was the absolute change he did to me. He helped me move on from my mother's death and it helped me grow stronger unlike before. Even so, he had made me into a dangerous person, too. I'm sure my fourteen- year- old self would keep staring at me uncomfortably and ask me why it was alright with me to use marijuana when I can get high with it. I'll reply 'I liked the taste and the addiction I get from it'.

"Kousei," Kaori sat beside me on the glass dining table and gave me a newspaper after we had wonderful sex that morning. "I think you need to read this."

I opened up the newspaper she gave me and that's when I saw a huge headline about Phoebe Yang: 'Leader of Yang Syndicate, Phoebe Yang, Arrested in Northern Gates in Japan.'

"She deserves it, didn't she? I heard you never liked her," Kaori told me. "What do you think?"

"Phoebe's people will eventually retaliate and I believe she planned to get arrested in Japan even if she's notorious here in the United States of America," I told her. "She's a dangerous human being. We can't keep her alive."

My girlfriend's mouth went open when I spoke those exact entire words. It was as if, she didn't expect me to say those words to her. "What are you talking about? How can you say those words, Kousei? I don't understand!"

"Secrecy is the rule in my world, Kaori. I'm not a spy but the other members of Jupiter's Inner Circle here in the 'Eagle Eye' are spies who get inside many syndicates that needed to be abolished or protected," I told her. "My uncle knows a lot of dangerous individuals and I haven't met most of them yet."

"You're more like your uncle, now," she told me. "I met your biological father days ago. He doesn't have an aura like you and your uncle."

"That man's merely a spectator in 'The Eagle Eye'. He needed to be protected since he might be used against us. I may not like him that much but he's still my father," I told her. "I forgave him for using my mother after he divorced Phoebe Yang. It's also one of the reasons why I needed to expose the truth about her. To tell you the truth, without my uncle, I may have never known that I am the son of his illegitimate wife. He visits us for some time but he never stayed."

"Mr. Arima Takahiko regrets everything he did in the past," she told me. "He misses you so much."

I drank the wine I had kept on my hand and straightened my body up. "They're divorced and I'm happy about it. Phoebe never deserved my father to be her husband."

"That is true," Dad suddenly spoke up as I leave the dining room. "I'm glad that you exposed her. You worked your best to tell me why you hated me."

I straightened my back and snickered at the same time. "That woman doesn't deserve to live at all. What will you feel if I choose to go back to Japan to kill her?"

He just looked at my eyes and inhaled a lot of oxygen. It's annoying that I'm staring at the face I may look like when I reach his age. He's old. He has too many white hairs and creases on his face. It's as if I'm staring at myself through a time travel mirror.

"I can't stop you, my dear son," he replied. "She's a syndicate leader while you're acting like a moderator between the public and the government."

"Young Master, Mr. Jupiter's looking for you, sir," spoke a young, male servant in our mansion in Las Vegas.

"Where do I meet him?" I asked him. "There's just too many places to see him here."

"He's in his office, sir," he replied to me. "Young master, he came to me... to tell you my job, sir. You see, I came from Big Dipper Syndicate and I was recruited here to serve."

Kaori, my dad, and I stared at the young man in front of us. We were all bewildered by what he's trying to say.

"What's your job?" I asked him. "Why were you hired here?"

"I was hired to help Ms. Seto Hiroko," he answered me. "I'm required to look after you whenever she's not around."

My guardians were all too pathetic and too overprotective of me. When I saw my biological dad's huge smile, that's when I knew that it's his influence, too. He wanted to make sure that I am well- taken care of.

"You're the reason why he's here, am I correct?" I asked him. "I don't need him. If you want him, let him take care of you."

I walked away from him but he just pulled my collar. "You may be your uncle's heir but now that I'm here, you're my son, again! Take him with you, Kousei. He's a good person and he'll take care of you."

"He's a member of a syndicate before!" I screamed at him. "Are you not afraid of my uncle's world?"

"Young master, I'm ready to work under you," he told me. "Your guardians, including Mrs. Seto Hiroko chose me to be with you."

"There's nothing to be afraid of," he told me. "Why will I be scared of this world?"

"Are you sure you're going to stay here, dad?" I asked him. "I've lived here for four years, now. I have seen a lot of things that changed me."

"It's the reason why I have to be here," he said to me. "We care for you a lot. Your uncle's the same thing and I had accepted that his concern on you is genuine."

"Alright, I'll take him with me," I replied to him. "See you, dad."

Kaori kissed me on my forehead and she smiled at me. "You see, a lot of us love you."

...

My uncle was grinning widely on his leather seat behind his office table that day while holding a newspaper regarding Phoebe's arrest when I arrived.

"Why did you summon me, Uncle Kuroshi?" I asked him. "I was enjoying my time with Kaori when a young man that's right behind me came to tell that you're looking for me."

"This is surprising," he said as he put the newspaper down. "You called me 'uncle' most of the time now ever since Takahiko became one of us. Have you already forgiven him?"

"There's no point if I stay angry," I replied to him. "He's still my father even if he did a lot of mistakes in the past. It's the past and it will stay there."

"Now, we have to look out to our present, my dear nephew," he told me. "I'm glad you brought River with you."

"River?" I asked him. "Who's that?"

"I'm River James, young master," the man behind me informed me. I was shocked to know that the older boy behind me has a very good name. "I apologize if I haven't introduced myself earlier."

"You can't do that again, do you understand?" I told him. "Better introduce yourself to others next time!"

"Kousei," Uncle Kuroshi stepped out of his seat and walked closer to me. "Study well in the Nevada Music Institute. I know you won't like this but—"

"I am a musician," I reminded him. "I don't want you to use my talent as a facade to your plans. Whatever it is, I know you want to shut that woman's mouth from telling the world about the 'Eagle Eye'!"

Uncle Kuroshi raised his voice and tightened his hold on my collar. "If I can't use you, what do you suggest we do?"

"Calm down and stop using useless actions!" I screamed at him. "A lot of us want that woman dead!"

I took a very deep breath while I remove his hands from my shirt. "I can still go there to do something to her but we have to be cautious. I'll do it alongside our favorite syndicate we protect and you do something alongside CIA. You're a CIA agent, right?"

"You're really one of us, Kousei," he proudly said to me. "You suggested something I have not imagined. If your plans don't succeed, that means we have to do a more drastic measure to prevent her from spilling anything."

"So, do you approve of it?" I asked him. "I want to do it."

"I'll think about it, Kousei," he answered me. "If I can't think anymore ways, I'll take your plan and execute it."
