Arima Kousei POV:

It was still a surprise to me when it became so clear that Kaori's truthfully about to go on her initiation to become a member of the Inner Circle of 'The Eye'. There was something inside me saying that I should stop her but her eyes were saying everything that's on her mind but it looks like she's serious to become a member of the Inner Circle of 'The Eye' since I am a prominent member of it. My blood says everything after all. He chose me since I'm his nephew.

All eleven members of the Inner Circle gathered around the secret tower of Calypso Casino. Calypso Casino's owned by Uncle Kuroshi and it was one of those casinos where I usually distract myself from my situation when I was still fifteen. I still go back at the casino to play poker game to anyone I meet whenever I have time to spare.

We have to wear masquerade masks to obscure our faces and hide our identities while Kaori isn't truly a member of the Inner Circle. She can't be allowed yet to know all members of the Inner Circle, after all. I'm aware that many of them still don't want to reveal themselves to me, too since they were still doubting if I can replace my uncle. I acknowledge that most of them wanted to be the next 'Eye' since they've been serving him longer while I just arrived three years ago. Even so, Uncle Kuroshi assured me that taking in someone who's young and easy to control was a better choice than choosing who's going to lead the organization.

It wasn't what I wanted but I accepted my fate. I let him have an authority over me. The organization had to give Kaori a bit of a taste of being a member of the organization and she had to pass it or else, she won't be a member at all. She would have to promise to keep her mouth shut about the group if she doesn't pass it.

"The Eye's initiation won't be easy, Kaori," I told her. "Are you certain about this?"

"Of course, Kousei," she answered me. "I can't keep myself far away from your world if I want to keep myself inside yours!"

It's an initiation on the kind of world where I can't get out anymore. I was forced to become who I am today but I don't know why I don't feel angry with my uncle for bringing me to Las Vegas, Nevada to totally make me into a very different kid. I was molded to do Jupiter's bidding and he's not yet done. Even if I choose to go back to Japan if give up my current life, living outside of Las Vegas, Nevada will totally be strenuous and taxing for me. I may even end up feeling so uncomfortable around a rather very peaceful atmosphere or even develop post traumatic stress disorder because of everything that I had experienced. It's safer for me to be in my uncle's custody and I'm sure my biological dad knows it. I've seen violence, savagery, masochism, sadism, drug addiction, deaths and a lot of illegal transactions in many Las Vegas casinos. I was even addicted to marijuana ever since June and August introduced it to me. Using it was something I always look for when my body was looking for it.

When I came here when I was fifteen, those things were still very strange for me. I wasn't used to my uncle's way of life but now, I don't care anymore. I tried to get away from it but my uncle's a very manipulative and cunning individual. He was able to mold me to who I am now. August was mostly the one who had been my companion ever since I arrived in this vast sin city and she was one of those people who brought out the darkness of my soul. I adapted and adjusted to my uncle's perilous world. I'm fine with my current way of life but I know that I was obviously stolen from my innocent world. That world was something that I miss but it's something I dread to go back. There was no chance that my uncle would allow me to roam free since he chose me to be the next 'Eye'. He's truly a huge 'Eye' since he knows a lot of things that no other person knows about except if he had many spies working within him.

"Don't worry about me, Kousei," she said to me after August was done helping her wear a brown shirt and shorts. "I don't even know if you had one."

"You're forgetting that I was abducted and forced to stay here for a few years until I got used to living here," I told her. "I had a very difficult life for the past three years and yes, what you will experience today wasn't as difficult as mine."

"Don't worry about her," August told me. "She won't abduct anyone like what we did to you before."

I sighed and breathed so deeply. My heart's thumping fast. Why am I more nervous for her?

"It's been a long time that I haven't seen June. Your initiation to get inside the Inner Circle was to abduct me."

"We were successful and you're still here," August told me while her eyes were glistening. "June and the other members are gathered here but our focus today is to put her in position if she truly deserves it."

"I wasn't initiated like you."

August chuckled. "You don't even need an initiation as you were slowly changing as years passed. Aren't you in Jupiter's custody for years?"

Kaori wore a red robe as a symbol that she's an initiate. "What are you both talking about? You're making me nervous."

"Your initiation would actually be easy in my opinion unlike what all of us experienced," August uttered. "You will only have an interview, a written exam and also, a physical exam since you aren't from any group. You're a normal citizen. Your role would mostly be staying around Kousei or be a CIA Spy if you are accepted. Even so, you'll have to give up your Japanese Nationality after that."

"Did you give up your nationality?" I asked Kousei.

"Kousei Arima is missing in Japan. I'm the exception from all of you since the truth of my existence was erased by the American Government and the Japanese Government ever since I arrived here," I told her. "My name was legally changed here in the USA. I tried to escape it but I can't go away from it, now."

I heard her gulp a lot of saliva after she realized how difficult it would be for her to pass the initiation. I don't even know if she's well and fit to be a member. I wasn't even fit to be a member when I was fifteen but my uncle did his best to keep me healthy and ready on the roles as his heir apparent to his position.

"You said Kousei didn't have an initiation," she asked as she look at me. "I was surprised he didn't experience getting it."

"You heard that our initiation was to kidnap him," she said to her. "Kousei was confined by his uncle for years and that's enough for him."

"He reformed and changed me so much that I know I can't return to my old life in Japan," I told her. "It's my reason for staying here. Living outside of Las Vegas, Nevada and Los Angeles California will be very difficult for me."

"Isn't he requiring you to stay as a regular college student after I had my initiation, Kousei?" Kaori told me. "It looks like living as a pianist was something that will never change, isn't it?"

"Sam's with me," I told her. "We always gamble in many casinos when I was homeschooled. Gambling was my distraction when I was here and I've been doing that for years. This casino was second to my home. I'm a minor but I'm an exception. You don't have time to pity me. The physical exam will be very difficult for you as it changed me."

"Run now if you can't kill a death row criminal," August warned her. "Some CIA Officials will test your stomach and they're going to be present on your initiation, too."

"CIA?" Kaori stared at me. "The Central intelligence Agency's going to be here?"

"'The Eye' is a secret branch of CIA," I told her. "They'll look at it if you can really be a part of us."

"Why didn't CIA do something when Jupiter abducted you???" Kaori asked me. She sound alarmed. "They should have done something about it!"

"'The Eye' is above the law," August explained to her. "Jupiter Ashworth is a shadow in many countries. The Inner Circle is the only person who knows who he really is."

"We have to go," I told them after I received a text from my uncle that all ten other members had arrived already. I wore my black mask that only hides my eyes and a black leather coat. "They're waiting at the conference room."
