Chapter Two

Emma sat on the front porch of their house, her suitcase and duffel bag at her feet. They were going to be meeting Skillet at the site of the music video they were filming, Back From The Dead. Then, they'd be going to the buses, and they'd leave for the next tour. Finally, after what felt like forever, her parents and siblings came out on the porch. Jude, who was almost five, Phoenix, who was about three, and Ruth, who was only a couple months old. Her mum smiled, looking at her daughter.

"Well.....Have a good time, Em. And call when you can, alright?" She smiled, nodding and hugging her mother.
"Will do, mum. Love you." She hugged her brothers, and then, after saying goodbye, she and her dad got in the car. As they pulled up to the warehouse place, she heard music coming from inside.

"Dad, can I go ahead in?" She asked, and he chuckled at her eagerness.
"Go ahead." She grinned, kissing his cheek and running in. She found the source of the music, grinning again as she watched them doing the first verse. As they got to the chorus, she started singing along quietly.

"Light it up, light it up, now I'm burning. Feel the rush, feel the rush of adrenaline. We are young, we are strong, we will rise to come back, Back from the dead tonight." The music cut off, and the lead singer, John, hollered at someone.
"We got the song?" There was a bit of talking, and then someone yelled back at him.
"Yup! Now we've got to get the beginning, and the scenes with you four." The guys dressed as zombies that were climbing all over the outside climbed down, high-fiving John, Korey, Jen, and Seth, and each other. John spotted Emma, and froze for a second. She looked like a younger version of his wife. Then, his brain clicked. Emma Smallbone, Luke and Courtney's daughter.

"Hey, Emma!" He hollered, waving, and she grinned.
"Hello!" Jen spun around, and grinned, heading towards her.
"Emma! How are you, love?" The teen girl grinned, hugging the red haired, British drummer.
"I'm doing good. So....Y'all are doing Back From The Dead?" She nodded.
"Yes, we are. John's just not happy about having to wear contacts at the end." She gave Jen a confused look, and she chuckled.
"We're doing a post-apocalyptic kind of thing, and there are zombie things that have eyes that are all white. No pupils or anything. So....John becomes one of them at the end." Emma smiled.
"Cool. You guys mind if I watch?" Jen shook her head, and gestured to a pile of blankets.
"You can crash there. I brought what Korey called 'half of my bed' with me, so I dropped them there temporarily." She laughed, snuggling into the pile of thick blankets. A little later, the sleeping bags were set up, and everything was ready just as John and Korey came back out. She watched, excited, as they got into place, and they started filming. Her dad came in, sitting beside Emma, and they watched as they filmed the video.

"Okay....Cut!! John, you've gotta get the contacts in!" He groaned, but came off to the side, and after about three takes on that part, they got the end of the video. The four of them went to go change, and then came back out.

"You guys ready?" Korey asked, and Luke and Emma nodded. They got out to the buses right as Libby pulled up with Joel and Moriah. Within twenty minutes, they were all on their way, and a few people were bored.

"Hey, guys! I've got an idea!" Timmy said, sitting up suddenly.
"Let's do truth or dare!" He said, and Luke groaned slightly.
"I'm not playing. You all can if you want, but I will not." Emma gave her dad a pleading look.
"Aww, come on, dad! Please?" He shook his head.
"Nope. Last time, I got stuck wearing that bright pink shirt during a performance. Remember?" She giggled, and Joel laughed.

"Awe, dad, that was funny! Even mum and the boys enjoyed it." He rolled his eyes, leaning back.
"I'm going to just watch. You all have fun." She shrugged, and dropped into the sofa beside her dad. After almost an hour playing, Emma started feeling a little dizzy. She lay down, her head spinning, and she closed her eyes.

"Hey.....You okay?" Her dad asked, and she nodded, standing.
"Yeah. I'm gonna get some sleep. I didn't get much last night." She said, and she headed to the back. As she lay down in her bunk, she had a bad feeling. A feeling that something bad was about to happen. She just had no idea what.
