Chapter Five- For Better or for Worse?

David

Well... at least he had finally found his weapons. One of which was a great sword, and he was pleased to see his beloved blade back in his hands, it felt so long since he had had it. Eventhough, it had only been hours since he had last had his sword. He belted the sheath around his waist, and fumbled for his shortbow.

He would be damned if he would lose that shortbow. He wouldn't go anywhere without it, it was made special for him.  It was a beauty, just as much so as he does his sword. He found his quiver of arrows, and quickly strapped them, and just in time before another strike of the Zuklos' tentacles strike through the vessel, and through the room of which David was in. He jumped down to the floor, and just barely avoided the touch of the Zuklo. Their tentacles are so sticky, that it's like paste, it's very hard to come off.

David decided it was better to switch to his great sword, so he placed his shortbow back onto one of his shoulders and sheathed his sword. It made the ching sound as he pulled the blade out of it's sheath. David struck at the tentacle, and it cut clean through- roaring could be heard from the outside, and another canon sounded. The thunder seemed to be drained out by the roaring of the Zuklo, and the booming sounds of the canons as they focused fire on the Zuklo.

David hurried back down the hall, to cut down the other tentacle, he did it in one swift motion, and the Zuklo roared again, another tentacle shoved through the cargo hold, and it took some boxes of gunpowder with it, and knocked over David. The Zuklo also managed to tear down one of the walls of the vessel and David almost slipped off of the edge. He could hear the captain from above shouting about his ship and cursing the Zuklo. Hopefully, the sails are still in tact, and this layer of the ship wasn't exactly the bottom, so technically the boat won't sink, at least not yet...

David rushed upstairs and was surprised of the size of the Zuklo, the beast had been dealt some damage, but not enough, and David figured that he could harm the beast with enough damage that he could maybe get rewarded without being trapped in a cage again. This time, hopefully Captain Shram would not be so convinced of keeping him in a cell. David unsheathed his great sword, and quickly swapped for his shortbow and drew an arrow. The arrowhead was sharp, just as sharp as a thorn bush.

The Captain, consistently yelled out orders, but David couldn't hear him quite well, and as he readied an arrow, his right hand was beginning to glow a bright orange hue- the hand that he held to keep the arrow from slipping. The arrow was engulfed with the same orange glow, and he fired the glowing arrow at the Zuklo. It struck the beast, and one of its cheeks burnt up in flames. It screamed, and the crew and Captain Shram looked at David in shock. Although, the glances were quickly distracted by the Zuklo as the beast raised another elongated tentacle and slammed it on the ship. The flooring cracked and splintered as the Zuklo attacked the ship.

There was no turning back now, if anyone who would dare jump off of the ship would probably be dead once they made contact with the water. A Zuklo could smell prey for miles, and they like it more when prey can be easy to devour. So... anyone who dare would jump into the deadly sea would surely be dead themselves. It was an immieadte death sentence.

"Oi, what the fuck k do ya think your doing?!" The captain called out, he ambled towards David, and slapped him across the face. It stung pretty deep, and David bothered not to rub at his face, as he didn't want to display his weakness. Although... he did do a nice quick shot at the Zuklo.

"You fucking Mage! If I knew better, I would've fuckin' kicked you off my boat. Don't need your damn kind here." The captain sounded very very crossed. David stood, watching, as if he weren't listening- which in this case, he really wasn't. He stared at the Captain, whilst in the background the crewmen and the Zuklo were putting up a good fight. One force striking against the other, and shockingly, the boat was still standing.

"Well, are we going to do something about the Zuklo problem, or are you just going to stand there?" David said in a unbending manner, he looked quite calm and content really. The captain looked merely dumbfounded, and pulled out his scabbard, he swiped it behind him as a tentacle slammed into the boat, before the Zuklo raised that tentacle, one of the crew members had been caught, and he was thrown to the other side of the boat.

Shram sighed, "fine you can help, but I want you off my fucking boat once we dock. I never want to see you here on this boat, ever!"

"Land ho!" The swashbuckler announced, Shram looked up, and smiled.

"Ah... Everdale, at last. We've finally made it, and now that fucking Mage will get off of my ship." Captain Shram said in a pleased tone. He could taste the salt from the sea, and fortunately, the cargo was still safe. Aside from one crate... Shram suspected that it was David who had probably opened it up to check.

Speaking of... here comes the demon now.

"So you'll be leaving then?" Shram asked with hesitation, since David was one of those Mages, he didn't need that kind of business to deal with. David nodded, and made sure that he had his weapons and money back. Though... he needed to double check the crates.

The docks were busy this time of year, and the businesses alongside the docks are thriving with business. The Mage ambled down the plank and headed into the nearest building; a café. Not just any café. The Jumping Bean Cafe. The owner,  Mr. Blakemore, an older aged man with snow white hair, and a nicely combed mustache. He wore button down shirts, with a nice top hat, and dress pants. His face was rough, aside from a mole that's on his chin.

"David! Ma'boy, welcome!" The man greeted. "How was your travels?"
