The Suspicion
Amethio breathed out with relief. "That was close," he said to Ceruledge, who still looked a bit reproachful. "I know, Ceruledge. But the book will definitely help us with Terapagos," Amethio said.
Suddenly, a faint tone rang out, followed by an announcement from Friede: "Please come to the meeting room. I'll explain where we're heading next." Then the announcement ended. "I've been wondering the whole time where the ship is going," Amethio said, annoyed. "But where should I put the book? Do you have an idea, Ceruledge?" Another tone sounded, and Friede's voice echoed through the speakers again: "When I said 'everyone,' I meant you too, Amethio."
Amethio quickly shoved the book under the blanket of his bed and, with Ceruledge, left the room in frustration. They walked down the hall with the many doors, getting lost a couple of times before finally arriving at the meeting room. The Rising Volt Tacklers were already waiting for them.
"Oh, you're finally here," Friede said in an irritated tone. Amethio gave him only a cold look before Friede began: "Our plan is to fly to the Naranja Academy so that Liko, Roy, and Dot can make it in time for the final Terastal Training course." "Good, then we still have some time for me to treat Amethio's wound again," Mollie said, somewhat begrudgingly. Amethio sighed in annoyance.
"Once we're at the Academy, you'll accompany the kids, Amethio." "What?!" Amethio exclaimed angrily and shocked. "I'm not accompanying them!" "Don't be so negative all the time. You might even enjoy it," Roy insisted. "Enjoy?" Amethio asked angrily. "I already have my Tera-Orb. Besides, what's going to happen there anyway?" "They'll fight against each other in the final battle of the Terastal Training course," Dot explained nervously. "I'm not going!" Amethio said stubbornly. Ceruledge came closer to him and seemed to look him in the eyes, as if trying to tell him to go. Amethio sighed, defeated, and finally agreed to accompany them.
"Great, then we can all prepare for arrival," Friede said calmly. Everyone left the meeting room, and Amethio and Ceruledge followed Mollie to the treatment room. Just before Friede could leave the room, Liko stopped him. "Hey, Friede, I can't find Lucius's diary. I thought I had put it on my desk, but it's not there," Liko said worriedly. "Hmm, strange. I'll search for it," Friede decided. Pikachu agreed with a nod. "Thanks, both of you," Liko said gratefully and left with Floragto by her side and Terapagos in her arms.
Friede paused for a moment and said to Pikachu: "I think I know who took it. It was probably Amethio. Why else would I have seen him in Liko's room earlier? He was hiding something behind his back. I think I'll search his room." Pikachu began to think and tilted its head, as if asking how Friede would sneak into Amethio's room. "I'll go when he watches the battles," Friede decided. Pikachu gave a thumbs up. It seemed to want to help Friede. "Good, we'll do it like that," Friede said determinedly.
A few minutes later, the Naranja Academy was in sight. Liko, Roy, Dot, Amethio, and their Pokémon were ready to disembark. The airship landed on an open area with green grass. Before they got off, Friede and Pikachu approached them again. "When the battles start, we'll join you. We just have some things to do on the ship first," Friede said. Everyone, except for Amethio, nodded in understanding. They left the ship and walked to the academy's sports field, where the battles would take place.
There, Director Clavell was already waiting for them. He greeted all the students and explained the rules for the battles. He also mentioned that those who hadn't passed the course would have to give up their Tera-Orb. The students received the battle lists on their Rorom Phones and found a place to watch the battles. Throughout all this, Amethio stood off to the side, and every time someone passed by, they gave him a curious look. This was due to his wound and the pink eye.
Amethio was completely annoyed and angry by all this but walked over to Liko, Roy, Dot, and their Pokémon when they called him. He sat down next to Liko, who had Terapagos resting on her lap. "Hey, Roy, Dot, and I are in the second half," she tried to cheer him up. He just sat there, arms crossed, and glanced at her briefly. Liko sighed and turned her attention back to the battles. After about three out of five battles in the first half, Amethio noticed that the Rising Volt Tacklers had arrived.
When the first half of the battles finished, two girls Amethio didn't know came over to Liko, Roy, and Dot. They were Ann, Liko's friend, and Nemona, a Champion from Paldea. "Hi! How's it going?" Ann asked cheerfully. She tilted her head to the side and looked toward Amethio and Ceruledge. "Who are your new friends, and what's up with his eye?" Ann asked curiously. "Hi," Liko greeted them. "We're doing fine. These are Amethio and Ceruledge. He has a bad injury to his eye." "Oh. I didn't know. I'm sorry!" Ann apologized.
Amethio remained silent and just gave her a cold look. Nemona then spoke up and asked, "So, how's it going for you guys?" Roy immediately started telling them about all her adventures, and everyone listened intently. Well, everyone except Liko and Amethio. Liko looked sadly at her hands. Amethio noticed this immediately, turned to her, but hesitated for a moment before asking, "What's wrong?" "Nothing," Liko said, surprised, trying to appear happy, but she wasn't convincing, as Amethio continued to stare at her. "Alright," she sighed sadly, "I didn't pass my exam against Grusha, and now I have to give up my Tera-Orb. How am I supposed to help Terapagos like this?" "So, you're giving up?" he asked, challenging her. "No, of course not. I'll make sure Terapagos gets to Rakua. I won't give up," Liko said determinedly. Terapagos stretched its head out of the bag and let Liko pet it. Amethio watched this for a moment before turning away from Liko again.
"Something's different about you compared to the other explorers. You're not like them," Liko remarked. At this, Amethio turned back to Liko. "I'm doing all of this for my grandfather, Master Gibeon. He desperately wants to go to Rakua, and I want to be the one to make that happen. I want to make him proud," Amethio said with firm resolve, and Ceruledge looked at him as though it were saying it would help him.
"Who's Master Gibeon?" Liko asked cautiously. "Master Gibeon is the leader of the explorers and my grandfather," Amethio said seriously. Terapagos immediately reacted to the name and looked Amethio in the eyes. "It's okay, Terapagos," Liko said calmly to Terapagos. "He's doing this for his grandfather. I want to find Rakua for you too, and for my grandmother." Terapagos looked at Liko for a moment before retreating back into her bag. "But if the Rising Volt Tacklers have the same goal, why can't we work together?" Liko asked Amethio. "We have completely different ways of achieving our goals than you," Amethio said seriously.
Suddenly, the voice of the director rang out. He announced that the battles would continue. In this battle, Dot was competing. Liko and Roy cheered her on as loudly as they could. Amethio glanced briefly at the Rising Volt Tacklers, who were watching the battle with interest. Upon closer inspection, however, Amethio realized that one of them was missing: Friede. Suddenly, a pain shot through Amethio's body. It was another vision. The pain wasn't as intense as the first time, so he only placed one hand on his head. Amethio saw Friede searching for something in his room and eventually finding it. The book he had taken. Then the vision faded.
Liko noticed and asked worriedly, "Are you okay, Amethio? Should I get Mollie?" "No," he answered and stood up. Quickly, he and Ceruledge made their way to the ship and explained what he had seen. Once on the ship, they ran as fast as they could down the hallway with all the doors toward Amethio's room. But it was too late. Friede and Pikachu were already standing in front of the room. Friede held up the little book and asked with a serious expression, "Does this look familiar to you?"
