The Escape
Amethio and Ceruledge were walking down the corridor with many doors, heading to their room. "Hey, wait a second, Amethio!" called Liko from behind him. He and Ceruledge turned around and saw that Liko, with Floragato and Terapagos, had stopped in front of them. "What's going on?" Amethio asked grumpily. "Well, I just wanted to tell you that we're about to leave again," Liko replied kindly. "Okay, good to know," Amethio said dismissively and wanted to continue walking.
"Wait!" Liko called out, stepping into Amethio's path. "What now?" Amethio asked, annoyed, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "Well, I just wanted to thank you for saving me, and I thought we could maybe figure out what's going on with your visions," Liko said, a little uncertain. "But you haven't told anyone, right?" Amethio asked angrily and accusingly. "No, of course not," Liko replied firmly. "And what about your visions?" "I already told you everything about the visions," Amethio said seriously. "No, you didn't," Liko contradicted. "You didn't tell me when and how it all started." "What's there to tell? The first time I had a vision was when I was watching you guys fight, and the second time was when we were at the Naranja Academy. The third time, you know what happened," Amethio explained, annoyed. "Yeah, but did you notice anything before you had these visions?" Liko pressed on. "Well, every time before I had a vision, Terapagos was with me. Maybe it has something to do with him," Amethio thought aloud, distracted.
Suddenly, Terapagos jumped out of Liko's arms. It nervously darted back and forth between Amethio and Liko. "What are you trying to tell us?" Amethio asked frantically. "Okay, maybe it has something to do with Terapagos, but that still doesn't answer why you're having these visions. Did you have any before your injury?" Liko asked thoughtfully. "No, of course not!" Amethio replied, shocked. "Then it might have something to do with that, and maybe also with your eye," Liko said carefully. Amethio stared at the ground, long and quietly, before he decided, "Liko, it's nice of you to want to help, but the only person who can figure this out is me. And I can't do that if I stay here." "What do you mean?" Liko asked, concerned. "I'm going back to the Explorers," Amethio said with determination. "But what about your wound?" Liko asked, worried. "It's not even a problem anymore. It's practically just a scar now. Besides, the others are probably wondering where I am," Amethio countered firmly.
Suddenly, Amethio heard footsteps behind him and turned around. He saw Friede with Pikachu and Mollie with Chansey quickly approaching them. "You can't leave," Mollie said irritably, stopping in front of Amethio. "What do you mean I can't leave?" Amethio snapped angrily. "Your wound isn't even close to healing. Like I said, if you don't get treated, it could have serious consequences," Mollie threatened. "Please, Amethio, be reasonable," Friede begged him. "They're right," Liko added. Before Amethio knew it, everything around him began spinning, and he felt the space around him growing smaller. His heart was racing, overwhelmed by all the words. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Amethio screamed, furious and completely overwhelmed by the situation. He pushed past Liko and hurried into his room, with Ceruledge following closely behind.
Amethio grabbed the key to his room, which was hanging next to the door, and locked it as soon as he and Ceruledge were inside. He leaned against the door and slowly sank to the ground. Exhausted, Amethio began to calm down and said, determined but desperate, "I have to go back to the Explorers. I can't let my grandfather throw me out." Ceruledge came over to him, sat down next to Amethio, and looked him in the eyes calmly. It seemed like it was trying to reassure him. "Thank you, Ceruledge," Amethio said, relieved that Ceruledge was there, "I will leave. Tonight. No matter what!"
The hours passed, and Amethio carefully thought about how he would escape. Every now and then, someone knocked on his door to check on him. But each time, Amethio stayed silent. The last thing he needed now was the other Rising Volt Tacklers. Around 8 PM, there was another knock. This time, it wasn't anyone asking how he was doing, but it was Liko. "Hey, Amethio, I'm sorry about earlier, but we all just want you to be okay, and we're worried your wound will cause problems. Please open the door; I brought you your dinner," Liko apologized, sounding guilty. Amethio looked at the door and briefly considered whether he should give in to her request but then decided it was better not to. After about ten minutes, Liko left the food in front of his door and walked away.
At 11 PM, Amethio said to Ceruledge, "Are you ready, Ceruledge?" It nodded in readiness. "Good, let's get out of here," Amethio decided firmly. He returned Ceruledge to its Poké Ball and opened the door carefully and quietly. "Just don't wake anyone up," he thought. He walked slowly through the corridor with many doors and made his way to the lower part of the airship. He saw countless glowing stars in the sky, which seemed to illuminate Amethio's path. He gazed at the sky for a long time, hoping, "Please, Grandpa, let me stay with the Explorers. I'll make you proud. I promise." He released Coviknight from its Poké Ball and quietly and apologetically said, "Sorry to wake you up so late, but we have to leave urgently." Coviknight nodded understandingly, and Amethio climbed onto its back. With several powerful flaps of its wings, Coviknight took to the sky, heading toward the Explorers' base.
Amethio's silver-black hair was swept by the cool night wind. But he didn't mind. He was glad to be heading back to the Explorers, though he also wondered what it would be like to join the Rising Volt Tacklers. "Would they even accept me?" Amethio thought uncertainly. Suddenly, Amethio heard the rumble of thunder above him, snapping him out of his thoughts. He only now realized that he had flown directly into a thunderstorm. Lightning struck the ground all around him. "Watch out, Coviknight!" Amethio shouted in fear. But it was too late. A bolt of lightning struck right in front of Coviknight, hitting it with such force that it was thrown backward. The strong wind caused Amethio to fall off its back. He was now in free fall, plummeting toward the ground. "NO! PLEASE, NO!" Amethio screamed, terrified. The wind pushed him from side to side, and he saw the ground rushing toward him. He shut his eyes, thinking, "I'm going to hit the ground!" His heart raced, and his pulse quickened. He fell faster and faster, until, after what felt like an eternity, he landed. But the landing wasn't hard, as he had expected. Instead, it was soft. "Where am I? Why is the landing so soft? OR AM I DEAD?" Amethio wondered, panicked, before cautiously opening his eyes.
Amethio wasn't dead. He was lying on the back of a shimmering Rayquaza. Amethio was so startled that he almost fell off its back but managed to hold on. Rayquaza stopped, and Coviknight flew to Amethio. Quickly, Amethio climbed onto Coviknight's back. He stared at Rayquaza for a long moment before asking, confused, "Why did you save me?" But Rayquaza didn't answer. It simply looked at Amethio. "Thank you," Amethio said with gratitude in his eyes. Rayquaza didn't respond with joy but instead flew off in the opposite direction.
"Come on, Coviknight, let's keep going," Amethio decided calmly. He flew for a while longer through the night sky, this time paying careful attention to where he was going. However, the question of why Rayquaza had saved him kept nagging at him. After about an hour, Amethio spotted the Explorers' base. His worry that his grandfather would throw him out resurfaced. Coviknight landed right in front of the entrance, and Amethio dismounted. He returned Coviknight to its Poké Ball and swallowed. "It'll be okay," Amethio reassured himself, running a hand through his hair. He took a deep breath before entering the base without another word.
