The story
The Sum swayed to and fro. Ethan wasn't sure that it was just a thunderstorm on land. The air was thick. He didnt understand why there was so much Magyk in the air. Alice was telling Torri a story, he knew she could feel it too. There was enough Magyk to make someone sick. The amount of darkeness made him dizzy.
Torri listened like a child at a puppet show. Her eyes were wide and she felt small. She was lost in the story of Tod.
"She bumped across the desert in her- erm- seldder. Yes, Tod traveled the desert in her seldder looking for the....Lerm!" Alice continued. She was having trouble coming up with fake names for the things in the story. The thick air and boat swaying didn't help. Torri didn't seem to notice the long pauses and stuttered words though. That was all that mattered.

Marcia held her hands to her head as the thick Magyk in the air messed with her head. She felt like her whole body was loosing control. This wasn't good. Marcia tried to cast an identify on the darke Magyk, but it was too strong. Her whole head throbbed. Then it didn't. Marcia didn't have control over herself. She forced her body to stay, but it went. This wasn't a living being they were dealing with. Whoever this was, was beyond life and death all together.
Snorri pulled on the tiller to turn away from the shore. The sky was dark, too dark. This worried her. There weren't even the ghosts to help them. She loathed the fact she let them stay on her boat. They had said they'd help. Some help. In her thoughts of anger, Snorri had lost a bit of hold on the tiller.
Nicko felt the boat turn. He saw Snorri strggling to regain her grip on the tiller. Her grip was slipping in the rain. He was forced to let go of the rope that was holding down the sail at the moment. Nicko ran over to his wife and helped grabbed the tiller. The sail inflated. Marcia tripped over another rope. Nicko cursed to himself as the smaller sail opened. Something grabbed at his and Snorri's hands. They let go of the tiller.
"I just got this boat cleaned." Snorri said. They were headed for shore and couldn't reach the tiller. Underneath the deck, the book started to glow. The story began. Torri brushed her hand against the bag and quickly pulled it away. She had burnt her hand.
