Acknowledgments

First of all, I would like to apologize seriously if this story was a bit too complex and the using-too-hard-to-understand-type. Just let me add that it was sort of inevitable, since Alex Mars is a Prodigy and thus, needed his perspectives to be written in the exact style he thinks. I myself had some hard time becoming him and seeing his dystopian world all around him and making his fast-paced decisions. Also, the story may be a bit hard to understand, for I kind of 'hid' several allusions referring to current life(ex: COVID19->COVID65/discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and African Americans->discrimination against Prodigies/BLM movements and others protests->the protests for the rights of Prodigies/Lyra's mental 'disorder' or ability->how some people feel the world around them/Thomas' extreme violence and instinct to harm->the illogical hatred and violent tendencies of some people these days(ex: Derek Chauvin), etc.)
Thus, please, I would like you to understand my story properly, instead of taking it in as a '49-part-story that has so many italic-ed words and hard-to-understand dialogues'.

Second, The Expatriate has been a giant leap amongst my 9 years of writing in English, and it has become a milestone on my amateur online writing very easily-I even think it's much much better than my first book posted on Wattpad, Virtuality(to be honest, it was quite a mess, I have to say).
However, this story never came out without the help of people so near(virtually) and so far(literally).
Primarily, of course, I would like to thank my laptop and Ipad and Grammarly in helping this story to get out into the world. Second, I'd like to thank some humans for this creation: my parents, all of the Wattpadders whom I got to meet and talk to thanks to the Write to Rank 2 contest held this year, and all my friends who wanted to read my stories at last.
Also, I give credits for @forest0198 for the cover provided for my story. I would like to apologize that I caused you to make about 4 or 5 covers to let me choose-I know I have to be less picky.

Thank you all for reading and encouraging me in your individual ways until now. This work would have never come out or have been short-lived with my usually-short motivation without the help of you all.

During this work, I just listened to the songs I have listened for months-Justin Bieber's Changes album, Camila Cabello's Romance album and Selena Gomez's Rare album-well, I guess I don't like to discover new songs when writing. :)
Here are my personal favs among those albums:
-Changes
-Take It Out On Me
-Yummy
-Life is Worth Living(ok, that was in the 'Purpose: the Movement' album, but it's the only exception)
-Available
-Should've Said It
-My Oh My
-Havana(another exception)
-Señorita
-I Know What You Did Last Summer
-Rare
-Lose You To Love Me
-Souvenir
-Feel Me

Well, guess that's all.
Next, I'm already working on 'The Arcane'. It's going to be more action-packed adventurous, though the Expatriate was quite good to write, too. Also, I'm planning on writing a sequel to the Expatriate, this time written more exclusively from Lyra's perspective.
Once more, thanks, y'all, and I just hope COVID19 is erased off the face of Earth as soon as possible. 😷
