"Haaaaa..."

Sans spoke out, as he looked up at the horizon, and sees the city that is next to the mountain. It has been about a week since he and the others had escaped back to Mount Ebott. They were able to successfully avoid detection, and were able to use Sans' portal to get inside of Ebott. Right now, they are currently at Waterfall, and Undyne was thankfully able to make a home for the group, and luckily, there is a lot of food for the group to have, so they won't have to worry about Akame getting immense hunger. But even that is not enough to make Sans happy, as he had just fought against his friend, Winter Schnee.

Of course, Sans had already told Weiss what had happened, and...surprisingly, she does not get mad at him for that. In fact, she understood that he had to do that in order to help the others get away, and to make sure that the Ace-Ops do not find out about Night Raid. Not to mention the fact that Sans never wanted to fight her in the first place, and was in fact, against having to fight her at all. But that does not make Sans' feel better, and he still feels guilty of having to fight someone that he cares so deeply about.

Right now, he is trying to get his mind off of what had just happened, but it seems to not be working. He than stood up, and spoke out.

"Haaaaaaaa...I hate doing this...but this is the only place that can help me get my mind off of what had just happened."

He than stood up, closed his eyes, before the area around him turned black, and he reappears in the one place that he hates to go to: Union City. The place from where Union Academy had once stood in. Sans shook his head, as he had to come here, but this is the only place that he can think off that can help him with getting his mind off of this memory. Sans began to walk around for a bit, marveling the beauty of the place that he is in. He looks and sees children playing with each other, a kid playing with his pet cat, who is licking his face, and he sees a group of siblings with their parents, and they are happy with each other. Sans looked happy, yet...sad, as this scene reminds himself of when he had fun with his dad. It made him very heartbroken that he now has to think about him now. He than looks down, his hands clenched into fists, before he spoke out to himself.

"Dad...whenever you are...I really hope you are proud of what I have done."

But as Sans stood...he sensed something. A soul, hurt, and they are running.

"Huh?"

Sans spoke out, as he turned to the direction of the soul. Sans' eyes snapped open, as he can feel the thoughts of the kid. It is filled with fear and pain. He than narrows his eyes a bit in concern for what is going on with the kid, but he then teleports to the soul's location, and sees himself in an alleyway. As he looked around, he hears footsteps and panting, as they seem to get closer and closer from the darkness that is surrounding the end of the frightening alleyway.

This caught Sans' attention, as he look to see where it is coming from...only to see something that he was not prepared to see. Coming towards him...was a young child. But not like any young child that he has ever seen before.

The child was a little girl with bluish white hair, red eyes, bandages on both her arms and her legs, and a medical outfit. But what caught Sans' attention, was the horn that is on the girl's head. The girl noticed Sans, and Sans looked and walked up to the girl.

"What in the...what happened to you, kid?!"

Sans spoke out, as he grabbed the kid, before she can fall down.

"H-help me...please..."

Sans looked horrified, until he looks to see that...there's a man, coming towards the kid.

"Do not try and one away, Eri. Come back, now."

Sans looks up, and as soon as he did, the girl, Eri, looks down in fear, shaking very, very rapidly.

Sans has heard of this guy before. His name is Overhaul. Sans once met him in the past, but Overhaul turns out to be very nasty, and almost got him killed. Sans snarled, and he looks to see the girl's reaction, and he saw that she is very frightened of Ovthaul coming towards Eri herself. She is even crying, fearfully.

Sans looks as shocked at the reaction, and than, he snarled angrily, sensing the corruption coming from the is approaching the horned child. Sans grabs the kid, and spoke out to her.

"I'll take care of this, kid. Just don't look at what I am about to do."

Eri looked, and nodded shakily, before she hid behind a trash can and closed her eyes. Sans looks up, and spoke out.

"Trying to kill me was not enough to me, was it, Overhaul. Now you decide to try and torment a kid, and make her traumatized?"

Overhaul than spoke out.

"That girl has something that I need, Gaster. And I will not stop to get it. So hand Eri over to me, and I will make sure that there will be no trouble."

But Sans simply smiled, as he spoke out to Overhaul.

"But that is the thing, Overhaul..."

Sans closed his eyes, before he opened them, and spoke out.

"You just walked into trouble itself."

He than extended his hand, and Overhaul was suddenly pushed into a wall. Sans than lofts Overhaul up into the air, and slammed him onto the ground multiple times...before unleashed a punch, and Overhaul coughed up blood. Overhaul than landed on the ground, and cold barely stand up.

"You little son of a-"

But Sans slammed Overhaul onto the ground again, before using Blue Magic to make blue glowing spikes come out of the ground. Overhaul tried to move, but he is met with purely immense pain. Overhaul looks up at Sans, who simply responded back with a smile present on his face, as if to mock Overhaul for his misfortune right now.

"And that is what you deserved, Overhaul, for trying to kill me back then."

Sans than turned towards Eri, and went to her, as he spoke out.

"Hey, kid."

Eri looks up, as Sans spoke out.

"I took care of that bad man. He ain't gonna hurt you."

Eri looks up with wide eyes, but she does not smile. This made Sans very sad, as he than snapped his fingers, as he has an idea.

"I'll get you out of here, kid. Don't worry."

He than picks Eri up, and looks at Overhaul, as Sans than spoke out.

"Don't move...and wait until the cops get here."

Sans spoke out, as he looks down at Overhaul who is looking at Sans with immense hate.

"You...I will kill you! You here me, I will-"

Suddenly, the sound of Police Sirens were heard, and Sans grabs Eri, and teleports back to his house, before the cops were able to see Sans. But they did see Overhaul, and the blue magic is gone from his arms and legs.

"Come quietly...and do not attempt to flee."

The cops said, as Overhaul looks up with immense rage.

Back at Sans' house...

"Oof!"

Sans landed on the couch, with Eri right on top of Sans. The noise was loud emojify to catch Papyrus' attention.

"Sans, what on Remnant was-OH MY GOD!!!"

Papyrus's shouted, as he see Eri.

"What happened to this girl?"

Sans looks up.

"Overhaul somehow had this girl in custody, and did something very bad to her. Overhaul called her 'Eri.'

Papyrus looks down, and Eri looked scared. Papyrus looked sad, before looking up at Sans, and spoke out.

"We need to bring this girl to Alphys, right now."

Sans looks up and nodded.

"Okay."

Sans than touched Papyrus by the arm, and all 3 of them, Sans, Papyrus, and Eri teleported out of the house, and right to where the Labratory is at: in Hotland.

A few minutes later...

"S-So...l1let me g-g-get this straight..."

Alphys spoke out, as she spoke to Sans, her longtime friend.

"Y-You are telling me that...th-this kid was owned by Overhaul?"

Sans nodded, and spoke out.

"Unfortunately..."

Sans than looked at Eri, who he is holding hands with in order to hopefully try and calm her down slowly. The bandages are off, and Sans was horrified to see the scars on her limbs. Clearly, Overhaul took his nature way to far, and it completely disgusts him that he would do that to a child, a child of all the things he had victimized.

Alpha continued to speak.

"I...I manage to scan her blood, and it is unlike anything I have ever seen before in my life. Her blood, it's mutated by her quirk."

Sans was shocked.

"She has a quirk? That explains why she has the horn. What does it do?"

Sans looks at Alphys, who than pushes her glasses back, and spoke out.

"W-Well...apparently...I manage to find a file on Overhaul's research into this one, and...apparently...it is said to have the power to 'rewind a living organism back to its's previous state, in the way Overhaul made note of it."

Sans looks to see a video of Eri using her powers on a mutated civilian, which than reverted back to their usual selves, their bodies looking normal as if they were never there in the first place.

Sans looks down, as he than thought to himself about the power that Eri had demonstrated, with Eri holding Sans' hand tightly, looking down, as she does not want to see her powers in action.

'This Quirk's almost like it is manipulating time on a certain individual. Never thought this mutation exists.'

Sans looks at Alphys, as he than spoke out to her

"Alphys...do you mind if I can have some alone time with the kid right now?"

Alphys nodded quickly.

"A-Ahhhh...yes, of course."

Alphys spoke out quickly, before she sped walked out of the room. Sans sighed, before speaking out to Eri.

"Hey...Kid. Can you talk to me for a bit?"

Eri looks up at Sans, with a sad expression on her face. Sans was heartbroken, as he too once had that expression when his own father had been murdered.

"Listen...kid...I know you don't trust me...and I...I understand that...I am a stranger to you...but I want to help you. So please...tell me what happened."

The kid looked down...she was silent for a few moments...before she began to speak out. And needless to say, Sans was horrified at what he had heard.

Apparently...Eri was born with a very unusual Quirk of her own, which played a very, very terrible role in ruining her life. What it did, was that her quirk went out of control one time, and it caused her to rewind her father, erasing his existence. This caused the mother to disown Eri as her daughter, but the Grandfather was not pleased with what the mother had done. And so, he took care of Eri. But when he got Overhaul to take care of Eri, Overhaul, after seeing what it could do, ended up going behind the Grandfather's back, and did some very terrible experiments on her. Eri even admits that...she is scared of her own power, and is ashamed of it.

Sans was horrified at this, and...remembered that...he himself was scared of his own power to.

"Kiddo...listen."

Eri looks at Sans, as he than spoke.

"You are not the only one who is afraid of his own power, and it having a negative effect on your life."

Eri's eyes widened, as she spoke out.

"R-Really?"

Sans nodded, as he spoke out.

"I, too, was the same. I was born from a human, and something, that is not a human at all. It was Abe entirely different being, and because of this, people became afraid and...maybe disgusted about me because they had sense my power. It made my life bad...but a year ago...I too lost my father...but...it was because someone else...took him away from me.

This made Eri hold her mouth with her hands, as she spoke out.

"I-I'm so sorry!"

But Sans shook it off.

"Don't be. You are not responsible for what happens to my pops. But...when I realized...I could not be afraid my powers, and I learned to control it...I realize that...they can also be used to help. They can be sued to save lives, instead of destroying the lives of those surrounding me."

Eri looks up and spoke out.

"Really?"

Sans nodded, as she held her hand.

"Really. And I can believe that your powers can also be used to help people as well. Listen...I can help you. I can fix what has happened to you. Okay? I can give you something that can give you some happiness, Kid."

This made Eri look up, and spoke out.

"A-Are you able to help me?"

Sans nodded very softly, as he spoke out.

"Really. But first...I need to give you some clothes. These one do not work. And I know just the person to help you with this, kiddo."

Eri gawked at the side, as Sans smiled.

Timeskip...

"Oh, you poor thing."

A female voice spoke out, as Sans' friend, Toriel, looked at Eri with a pitiful expression now present on her face.

Sans than spoke out.

"Do you think you can give her some new clothes, tori?"

Toriel nodded, as she spoke out.

"I can. Come on, my child."

She grabs Eri by the hand, and Eri flinched a little bit, before dragging Eri to her room. Sans waits outside, for Eri to be done.

A few minute later, Sans was sleeping, before waking up, and saw the door opened. And out, came Eri.

"Umm...does this look very good on me?"

The clothes that she is wearing are much more nicer than the clothes that Sans had found her with from before. Eri now wears a white dress shirt with a frilled collar and a plain red pinafore with two large, golden buttons on either side of her chest. Under this, she wears gray tights and a large set of tan boots, and a small dark red messenger bag with the strap sitting over her right shoulder, and a little floral pattern decorating one of its sides. Her hair is now much more better, and is not as messy as before.

"You look nice, kid."

This made Eri surprised, as no one has ever acted so kind to her. He than extends his hand out, and spoke out to her.

"C'mon kid, I'll take your someplace that is very great to you."

Eri was hesitant...but he took his hand, and spoke out.

"O-okay."

Sans smiled, as he looks at Toriel.

"Please be careful with the child, okay, Sans?"

Sans nodded.

"I will, Tori."

Sans than smiled, as he held the kid in his hands, and spoke out.

"Let's go, okay?"

Sans than closed his eye, and teleports to Ebott City.

The instant they teleported there, Eri was looking around in awe of what she is seeing. As she has never seen a city like this before in her life, due to being secluded, Eri never witnessed the outside that much. Sans looked down, as he spoke out to Eri herself.

"Hey, kid."

Eri looks up at Sans, as he spoke to her.

"Have you ever smiled before?"

Eri lowers her head a bit, and...she shook her head, no, with some tears coming out of her red eyes. Sans than spoke out to her.

"Well, you're seeing me smile, right? Try it."

Eri than looks a little bit hesitant, unsure if she can really smile, but...she than tries to make a smile on her face anyway. And...needless to say...it...really isn't working.

Sans was a bit hurt, and he sighed, knowing that this is going to get him nowhere if she tries to keep on smiling, as he than stops her, as he spoke out to her in a gentle tone of voice.

"Hey. I'll help. I'll take you to some places that could help make you smile. Alright, kiddo? And if that doesn't work...than I have something that found out a smile on your face.

Eri looks up, a little unsure, but she spoke.

"...okay."

Sans smiled, as he lifts Eri onto his shoulders, and began to walk towards where he wanted to take her to. There was a festival going on at this time of year, so...with luck...Sans should be able to cheer her up way more so.

The festival was pretty packed, but now crowded, and Eri looked a bit afraid, before Sans used his scarves to run her head in order to calm her down.

"Don't worry, you're safe with me, kid. No one'll hurt you."

Eri looked a it uncertain...but she lets Sans give her a chance, and they began to all sorts of various activities. Some of which Eri wanted to keep on doing, and Eri...actually began to feel more emotions during their time at the festival. She began to look curious, she looked surprised, she became amazed at stuff...but it was during the sun down...that the emotion that Sans wanted to see finally came out.

Hours later...

The sun was coming down, and the festival just ended, everyone was beginning to leave, and both Sans and Eri came out.

"Well...that was fun, right kiddo?"

Eri looks up and nodded, her eyes having a little bit more shine in her eyes than it had did form before.

"I...it is fun."

She sounded a bit more positive, but she is not smiling. Sans than smiled, as there is something that he wants to give to Eri, before they start to do their other stuff. And hopefully...this one will make the little girl smile.

"Hey, kid...I got ya somethin'."

Eri looks confused at what it was that Sans is about to pull out from nowhere, until Sans pulled out something that Eri has never seen before.

"Tada."

Eri looked surprised. It was a candy apple. Sans gives it to her, and spoke out.

"It's called a Candy Apple. I got it for you to eat back at that carnival. I know you'll like it. Come on...just try a bite, even if it's one."

Eri was a little hesitant, but, Sans encouraged her to do so. And so...she took a small bite out of the edges, and Sans waits to see her reaction. The result, gave Sans a very wide smile on his face, with his accomplishment.

"It's even sweeter!"

Eri spoke out, and she smiled...for the very first time of her youthful life. This made Sans immensely happy, as he finally was able to heal the kid's mind, and gave her happiness, which she was never able to have. Sans than puts his hand on the kid's head, and ruffles it for a little bit.

"I'm so happy for ya, kid. And I know you're happy as well."

Eri smiled, as she than hugs Sans, and Sans hugged back, and Eri...she felt warmth in her soul, for the first time of her life. She now has someone that cares deeply for her, and would do anything to make sure that she gains a happy life. Sans smiled, and looks down at the kid, and saw that the horn has shrunken a bit. Sans than looks at her, and smiled.

"C'mon kiddo...let's go through a couple more places, and than...we'll go home. Capiche?"

Eri smiled and nodded.

"Yes, please!"

Sans smiled wider, hearing her excited tone, before speaking out.

"Alright, Eri."

Eri than looks to see Sans' scarves turn into wings, as Sans than spoke out.

"You wanna have you fly over to where I will take you?"

Eri's eyes widened an awe, as she sees his wings. Sans can fly, and Eri never knew what it is like to sore through the sky.

Eri  than jumps on Sans' back, as Sans than smiled.

"Well, hold on as tightly as possible."

Eri did as Sans told her to do, as Sans than couches down, as he holds her legs with his arms, before leaping into the air, and start to fly. They went up, and Eri looked around, as she sees the city in the air.

She extends her arms and hands into the air, as she feels the powerful breeze of the wind flowing onto her body. She had never felt this excited and joyful on her life, to see what it is like to fly, and spreads her wings, as she feels the sense of freedom take over her. To be like a bird and not be grounded in her prison, and to be able to do nearly anything in the air. It was a sense of feelings that she now likes to feel.

Sans smiled, as he than continued to their destination. And needless to say, Sans is proud of himself. From the kid that had been broken by her owner, to a now, nearly repaired, happy kid that is now filled with joy and smiles, by the person that can relate to her, Sans felt like this is his greatest accomplishment yet.
