7- Down the Rabbit Hole

She laughed manically, her whole face contorting and writhing, like the serpent that snuck into the garden all those moons ago. But this one didn't bite the apple.

"Just keep calm Lucy." Cecilia cooed, looking down at her red, crisp legs. The burns were fresh- why couldn't she feel the pain anymore?

"You're numb," A deep, cold, slow, voice poured down her neck.

"What?" Cecilia attempted to jump up in panic, but her iron chains held her wrists in place and in turn stopped her body from moving. Anxiety was rising up her throat, the room was spinning round and round and round, her eyes begun to glaze over. Stay awake. She inwardly thought. Stay alert. You're mind hasn't been captured. Her eyes quickly flitted around the room, surveying it for potential ways out or- hazards. A rope? A shadow? What was casting the shadow- is there a window? Her heart skipped a beat at the thought.

"I would never do that to youuu, my love. Well, I could never let you feel the pain anyway." The voice purred down her neck. She could feel his soft, sticky breath by her ear. Inwardly, she shivered.

Cecilia didn't say a word. She looked up at Lucy. Her baby, blue eyes were wide with terror, as they focused on whatever was behind her. Cecilia's eyes bored into Lucy's unseeing eyes, longing for her to stand up, to grab something, to do something! Lucy stayed slumped against the wall, shaking all over like a whipped dog. She always knew that girl was useless. She almost pitied her for a moment. Sat there like an injured dishevelled animal, even though she was free to move! It'll have to be me- Cecilia decided.

"Thank you." Cecilia simmered slowly and sweetly.

Lucy's eyes widened still.

"Is there anything you need my love?" The voice rung in her ear, he could probably bite her ear off, if he so wished.

"Water." She croaked, trying to slow the adrenaline that was coursing through her veins.

"As you wish."

She felt his lips slowly brush against her neck and then the shadow was gone.

"Lucy!" Cecilia hissed, "Quickly, tell me is there a window behind me? Is there a key for these cuffs?"

Lucy whistled slowly, puffing out her cheeks. She looked like a deranged puffer-fish. So much for the fairest of them all.

"We're never getting out" Lucy shakily whispered, her eyes frantically flying around the room.

"Lucy. We will. Tell me now."

That smile crept across Lucy's face again. She's losing it, Cecilia inwardly groaned. But then, Lucy slowly lifted her skinny little arm and pointed at the ceiling, Cecilia's eyes following every movement.

The glare of the computer screen hit Cecilia's eyes before it touched her mind. That'll do nicely, for now.
