Chapter Three

I was just too afraid to make decisions. Well,  obviously I needed the help.  I felt frozen inside,  and no I wasn't  cursed or anything.  I was just...  afraid. Well, shouldn't  I be afraid? We are talking about my life. Since I didn't make any choices, one of the men decided to go downstairs with a fork and descended down them carefully.  It seemed that he knew what he was doing. I could recall a time where I was playing Hide and Seek with my brothers, when we were younger. We played in the forest, it wasn't  all that creepy in the daylight, but it was annoying, trying to fins them; and I don't  know why that memory was recalled when I was thinking about saving my own life. It did seem a little selfish, but my brothers and I just needed to see our best friend's  wedding!  Was that too much to ask for?  We didn't  need to bring our fancy clothing, because our best friend was a Prince,  and he had purchased us all clothing. I jist wanted to visit Apharidge and get back home,  but these bloody pirates had gotten in the way.  I wanted to say something  to the man with the fork descending down the stairs, but I didn't bother to follow.  Chronic said he wanted my help, so I waited for a signal, but I also crept upstairs to make sure that everything was okay.

Though,  I could hear more booming sounds from the storm that was about to come. Some peculiar reason, I didn't  think anything of it. Though, something about the storm chilled my bones, and I could feel bumps tickle across my body as if cold wind was passing through. I rubbed my skin uncomfortably.  As I reached closer to the top of the staircase, I clasped my hands on the edge of the wall, and peeked around the corner. The middle of the ship was clear,  and when another men who was also captured and said that the armory was on the other side of the boat. "You, Mr." I pointed to the other guy, as I looked back and headed back downstairs- but I kept my voice low. Because we didn't  need to be heard,  not right now.

"Yes,  Ms. Salaria?" The other man answered and stood formally afterwards. I cocked a brow, and shrugged; his formalities didn't  matter much to me. "You said the armory was across the ship? You've  seen it?" I asked him in a low hushed voice.  I still didn't  want the other guards notice anything  suspicious. The thunder seemed to be less noisy, but it was still audible. Perhaps that was Chronics signal to let us get what we needed and attack. Even know I've  been enslaved for a day, I still wanted my revenge. They killed my brothers, and I will have my revenge.

"Yes, the armory is just across the ship. Down the stairs on the right. Second door." He replied, and he seemed honest. The dark haired man added, and I nodded.

"Nice to meet you." I replied, "anyone here know how to use a weapon? Follow me... "I said, "Eric your leading." I offered and he shrugged,  he crouched up the stairs cautiously, and checked the outside to see who was there,  and who wasn't. He told us the coast was clear, and it seemed that it was just Avangeline and I who decided to follow Eric. Avangeline told is she was good with a broadsword, so...  maybe there was a fighting chance?

Ferris crossed the ship first and waved us over, but I noticed a guard approaching and we sneaked downstairs quickly just before the guard noticed anything off. I peeked up the stairs and made sure that the guard was gone before we sneaked our way over to the other side.

Once we made it to the other side,  Ferris had lead us down the hall,  and we passed a few doors. It was tempting to look through them,  living in a low key hunting life didn't  really pay you much. Especially, when you're  hunting  in a jungle, the terrain was barely manageable.

"Here." Ferris explained and opened the door,  surprisingly, these pirates had never locked the doors. Oddly enough, why would they need someone for the  armory? I immediately spotted by shortbow. I barely kept my legs from jiggling, the second to last thing I have had of my brothers. My bow, I will keep it forever, and will never leave it. I rushed towards it and took it off the shelf where it was hanging by a small circular window. I could see the sky slowly darken. Flashes of purple and white streaks cascaded over the sky like dangerous sparks. They flashed on and off, but I couldn't  see the rain, not yet. We had plenty of time before the monsters of the sea to get rocky. I plucked the string of my bow to test and see if any of the pirate crew have tinkered with it, fortunately no one had played with it so I slung it around my left shoulder, pushed back my hair behind my head and smirked as I grabbed my arrows to. "I think we should test our limits? Chronic said he'd give us the signal,  I thought I saw him gather the attention of a handful  of crew mates. So I think our best chance would be a surprise attack." I offered, Erics seemed to be okay with the plan, and Avangeline seemed to be strangely quiet I didn't  know what was wrong with her; I thought that she would be excited to take back her life.

"It sounds good to me, "Avangeline replied slowly. I smiled, and followed Ferris who was carrying a longsword and a shield. I didn't  give ourselves time to slip on some armor, but I didn't  want to wear old smelly armor that probably  never got cleaned. Pirates, they never looked after themselves and taken care of themselves. All they want is gold and sex. If it were me, I'd  cut every pirate here just to prove to them that they can't  get what they wanted, though I contained my energy; and used it to focus my strength for what was about to come.
