Chapter Thirteen
Eric's POV:
LIVING IN A DUNGEON FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE? I don't think so. To hell this would happen to me. The anger filled inside me overwhelmed me, I shook the bars, but alas no use. Of course, they were used to hold prisoners. Slaves too, it seemed. It pissed me off, and Chronic is in his own room, away from me, and Lilly was somewhere else, possibly with Salaria. I would kill that witch to get Salaria back, we all need her.
Avangeline? I don't know where she was, the guards carried her further down the corridor. I could still here crying, or at least whimpering.
"Shut up back there!" It was one of the guards, laying back on a mossy chair that was kept down here for so long. The guard was sitting two cages down, playing with a deck of cards, and his feet up against the table. A few golden Yolan's (gold coins in Yolanda) were stacked together on top of the table.
"That's not fair," my stubbornness took over. I shook the bars in front of me again.
"Life ain't fair my guy." The Guard turned and looked at me with a smirk saying 'screw off poser.' I glared at him with disgust, and would love to punch the life out of him.
It was amazing how I stayed patient this long, and I couldn't handle it any more. Once that guard opens the door for the second time, I'll jump him any chance I get. Yes, he has a sword strapped around his waist, that doesn't mean that I can't disarm him and take him out. I could rescue Avangeline, and Chronic. Though, I don't know how to rescue Salaria, and Lilly. That was a problem for later, as I need to determine what to do right now. That would be good, of course.
"Where's your pal?" I snapped back. "Can't play a game of cards with just yourself?" I asked rhetorically.
"You think I'm bloody stupid, you street urchin. I don't need anyone to play solitaire with." He said back. The guard kind of looked like me, but with longer hair, and more muscles underneath that suit of black armor. I continued to stare at him, and thought of my next remark.
"Your stupid enough to not be on guard." I stated, clearly... even though, being a guard sucks (trust me, being a guard for the Royal King up North it he Kingdom of Anastasia, it's not fun). "For the record, he is not my pal!" He snapped, and grunted, then he went back to playing his game of solitaire.
Just as he finished speaking, the other guard ambled down the corridor.
"I'm not your what, Jason?" Guard two asked as he came to view with his right hand rested against the hilt of the sword.
Jason turned and stood up from where he was sitting.
"I said You. Are. Not. My. 'Pal'." Jason made the gesture of quotes with his fingers. The other guard looked at Jason with dismay, and utmost bewilderment.
"I thought you loved me Jason?" The second guard replied.
"It I didn't mean that Spencer. No, no." Jason stepped back.
"Well, what did you mean?" Asked Spencer as his hand grilled the pommel of the sword. He was ready to pull it out. If I didn't notice it earlier, Spencer had the keys to the doors, and they were loose at his hips as he had them hooked to his belt.
"I've always loved you." Jason insisted. He looked at me for help, and I cocked a brow at him. Spencer turned to me with envy.
"What did you tell him?!" Spencer demanded and pulled the sword out. His blade nearly touched my neck as I backed away. The cold touch of the steel blade was close enough to my neck, my skin would turn numb if I stood behind it for any longer. The sound of the sword making that ching sound was just too inaudible, Spencer pulled the blade out before he spoke his first words to me.
"Don't look at me, I was only asking where you were." I protested, and looked at Jason. "Thought you two were pals, or something... Didn't know um-"
"Silence!" The guard said and playfully poked the tip of the blade at my neck. I sensed the odor of fresh iron oxidizing. It tickled my nose, and I sneezed. "Dammit boy, you got mucus on my sword!" Spencer grumbled, and sheathed his sword back into its sheath. "As for you, Jason. You say any other shit like that again, I'll take your head." As he spoke, I reached in grabbed the keys, I yanked his belt off, and pulled Spencer against the cage door. That was something he totally wasn't expecting. Neither was Jason, I slipped the keys into my pocket, and quickly picked up Spencer's sword.
"Hold it right there!" Jason commanded and withdrew his sword. "You dare hit my boyfriend, and take his keys?!" He yelled the obvious, and I shrugged.
"No hard feelings man, maybe next time the Queen should make these bars bigger." I advised him. He thrusts his blade through the open space between the bars and I deflected it with my, um- Spencer's sword. I spun it around and quickly disarmed him. The sword fell and clattered against the stone floor, the hit had even busted. "Plus you should get that sword fixed." I said and grabbed the keys. Jason looked St me dumbfounded, and surprised that someone like me had defeated him. I shoved the cage door open, and made sure to hit him in the face as it swung out. Jason fell on his back with a loud thump, and I smiled.
Now, I was free, and now, I needed to find everyone else and set them free. That wasn't so hard, at least not yet. Once I get to Salaria, and Lilly. Things would be tough, and they'll be even harder once they find out that we've escaped.
