Chapter Sixteen

I AWOKE IN A STRANGE ROOM. It was dark, and gloomy. It felt damp too, no lit torches along the walls, no light of any kind. An odor made not from man lingered and I wanted to plug my nose. I could not, my hands were bound, and my my legs were shackled. The metal was really clinging to my skin like a woman who was witnessing a stranger falling from the sky. No, it didn't really happen, strangers falling from the sky. It was just an expression. It was too dark for me to see anything at all. I coupd barely even see my own arms as my hands felt tied behind my back. Was I blindfolded too? No... I didn't feel anything around my face. My right ear perked up, as a heavy stone was dragged across the ground. I swallowed hard, as monstrous steps clomped against the earth, and shook the ground beneath me.

"You don' need to be erfraid." The Giant spoke. He coughed, and the room lit up, torches were hanging against the cavernous walls and I could see clearly now. I struggled to loosen up my hands.

"Untie me Giant!" I demanded as I attempted to free my hands.

"That's not how ye talk to ye rescuer now." The Giant said. He was really tall, with a nice dark complexion, but he had a few bent and crooked teeth here and there, and all the Giant had was a large piece of cloth that covered a small part of his body. I shivered, and looked around, and tried to find something  that I could use. There were scattered pieces of bones all around me, I could use one of them to cut my rope bindings free.

"Try not to struggle. I don't want to hurt ye." The Giant continued and rolled out a large stone and sat on it. "I am no bad Giant." The Giant claimed.

"Oh really?!" I called up to him. "Explain to me, why am I chained up, like a slave?!" I demanded answers. I wanted to know who sent this Giant to take me prisoner. Even though, this was how I imagined my prison to be when I was with the Queen, but not with a Giant. Giant's are ruthless, and are pleasure seekers. It's  a good thing I'm  a small being.

"I can not do that." The Giant said as he sat down and leaned over.

"Why not?" I asked stubbornly, and tried to stand, but the shackles pulled me down and my arse slammed against the stone. The rope stung around my wrists. Magic, I thought as I cursed under my breath.

"I was asked to not harm ye, or free ye, once I imprison thee." The Giant replied. Well, if he was answering my questions, perhaps he was good enough to not hurt me.

"I need to get back to my friends, they're  in trouble. I need to save them."

Out of nowhere, the sound of glass breaking echoed in the cavern. I looked around, and noticed a blind man who ambled towards me. He came into existence, really from nowhere.

I wanted to scream, but my voice was cut off.

"No need to worry my love." The blindman said. Did he know that I was worrying? Or panicking? The rope came undone, and my arms relaxed, and I rubbed my wrists with a breath if relief.

"You!"I pointed at him, and wanted to back away. "You knew?!" I was dismayed, and very confused. I had no idea what was going on. Did this old man have something against me or something?

"Yes I knew. I know all, and I can see all." The old man explained. "Even though, I am blind, I still have powers. My friend here had brought you to Giant Country, where you'd be safe for now. Away from the Queen. You're friends are going to be fine. Though, you might need to save them. There's one person who stands in the way that you've already met. You need to make sure to avoid him completely.Otherwise, your prophecy will never reveal who you truly are." He walked up to me, and caressed one of his hands against my right cheek. "Your skin is soft, just like how your mother's skin was." The old man said. I shivered, and goosebumps tickled across my arms.

"Who are you?" I asked him.
"I am a Prophet." The old man explained with a true voice of wisdom.
"That doesn't help me much." I insisted, and shook some more, though the shackles had only gotten tighter as I tried to move and they pulled me back closer to the wall.
"I'm just a Prophet of Gan'Dor." The old man said.
"So we're still in Gan'Dor? I can still save my friends, and who was this man you were talking about?" I fired questions at him, and he just put his hand up to silence me. I frowned.

"You ask too much questions my love." The man said and stepped towards me. "I can only see bits of the future, and there's  an outside world that's involved. You must stop the Evil Queen she's  bound to ruin your life even more."

"What's  worse than the death of my brother's, how could it be worse?" I asked him. The blind old man stepped back, and displayed a shocked expression. I looked at him, and his eyebrows expressed  a concerned look. "Well... there can't  be anything worse than the deaths of the one's  you've  loved?" I asked him. He shook his head.

"No, no, of course not." He said with a dismissal of a wave. I wondered if he was hiding something. "I should tell you anyways. After all, you're just going to forget things anyways." The Prophet said.

"Well, what is it?" I leaned forward, eager to know what the Prophet wanted to say, what was he going to say?

"Well... you're  the Queen's  Sister." The Prophet  said, and looked at me with a shrug. My mouth dropped open wide, and the Giant clapped his hands and the torch lights went out. I felt dizzy, and the last thing I heard was the Giant's  laughter.
