Chapter Eighteen
I WANTED TO SCREAM! What were they doing here, what the bloody hell was going on. What did my necklace do? How.... I was out of words when my brothers reappeared into the living room I tossed the bowl of rotten apples at them and the apples rippled right through them.
"Salaria, calm down!" Gilbert cried out, and walked towards me. I backed up into the wall, and freaked out. My hands were shaking.
"What the bloody hell... Is this some trick?" I asked, and stood upright against the wall in shock. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was sure that I was still living in the Queen's Castle, the Prophet never took me away from there, and J was never back home. This was insanity. I couldn't be back here, no I couldn't be back here. Who would dare send me back home, no... I knew who dared. I just wanted to know why. Why did he send me back home, and why did my necklace go off like that.
"This isn't real."I said through sobs.
"It is my pumpkin." Francis said with a cheery smile. "Just because we're dead, didn't mean that you couldn't see us." He pointed towards my amulet, and I thought again how this seemed to be fake, and I just wanted to curl up in my bug slave bed.
"Why are you here?" I asked the two. They both looked at each other, and smiled. Why were they smiling, and why were they so happy.
"Once we realized we were dead, and those pirates impaled us with their blades, we were watching you." Francis said. Gilbert was a little quiet than usual.
"We... found out some things that you should probably know, but for now-" Gilbert began, "-if you look under the floorboards under the table, there's a chest under them." I did as asked, and crawled under the table, I have seemed to have calmed down a bit.
I was surprised, the floorboard that I tugged on was loose, and what did you know? There was a small chest under the wood. I pulled it out, and a small noise echoed and I looked around and noticed a gold key. I picked it up and accidentally bumped my head. My brothers were still here as I cursed. They were both chuckling and grinning. I wish I could slap them.
"Ow!" They both yelled and rubbed their cheeks. I was shocked, I didn't do that, did I?
"Yes, yes you did." Francis said with a philosophical tone, he seemed to know what my necklace did.
"What did I do?" I asked them with a smile, "You slapped us." Gilbert replied and rubbed his face.
"Well, you two were laughing!" I didn't really understand what I was doing, but it sure felt like I was back at home again. "Is there something that you forgot to tell me about too?" I asked after I placed the chest back onto the table, and gazed at it.
"Are you talking about the chest-"
"-Or the necklace?" Both of them asked in unison and scratched their heads. They didn't seem to understand me too well when I asked questions, mostly because I was always a bit non discreet when it came to asking questions.
"Both it seems." I answered them. "So first things first. I want to know if you two are okay." I asked them, with a worried look on my face. Even though, I was the younger sister of the two I was normally the most mature one. Though, my brothers took extra jobs in Riverdale just to look after me and make sure that I would live. I appreciated that, and hopefully I can repay them with whatever way I can. I hoped I can, even though they are dead.
"We're fine, we have been in a better place since we left Gan'Dor. Have you seen Prince James get married yet?" Francis said with a cheerful smile and looked up at me, but I only shook my head no.
"Oh, that's right... Queen Zamaria. Her staff was on that boat?" Gilbert asked and I nodded.
"Yes, and so was the Captains daughter, Lilly. She's only like ten years old, and she's been on more boat adventures then I have ever had." I replied with a frown, and was a little upset about it. Though, I was glad at the same time to. Since I didn't do well with water anyways.
"You always got sea-sick, there was no way we could get you to come. Plus, you had a big fear of the ocean, and when we did get you to come... we had to bribe you with more than one fancy dress." Francis admitted.
No, they weren't going to buy me own, they got hand me down's from the Queen and King of Apharidge, which was Prince Jame's mother and father who were still in rule. If we hurried, we could possibly make it to Apharidge to make it to coronation day to see James and his beloved wife get married. Though, there might not never be a chance to see that happen since I was destined to prevent the Queen from casting an evil curse.
"Point made... so the chest? How did you two manage to save up- bloody hell you two." I was shocked to see the amount of gold and silver in this chest. I could put the chest in my backpack for safe keeping, just in case we ever needed any money. Maybe I could get Chronic to enchant it somehow. Speaking of, I bet those three were suffering. They probably wanted to know if I was safe. I was a little ways away from the Queen's Castle, I won't be able to send them any form of communication without the Queen knowing.
"We worked hard to get that extra money. Someone at the market told us to save what we earned, and we weren't sure when we needed it for emergencies. It seemed like this was an emergency, so it was a good idea that we did save up the money."
"We'll talk about the necklace later, but for now I think it's time for us two to go."
I looked at them with another frown, and wished they wouldn't leave, but if they had to go then they must.
"You promise you'll visit me again wouldn't you."
"As long as you're always wearing that necklace, and always keep us in your thoughts. We will always be there for you, no matter what." They both vanished afterwards with a flash of bright orange light and my necklace hummed, then went silent. I was left alone in my old house once again.
