Chapter Two: Queen Zamaria
"There's more to it than good looks and sweet words. It takes time and effort to be the best. Though, I am getting the hang of it I guess."
-Queen Zamaria.
The tables were already set, and the two royals sat down before anyone else was ready. The chefs, maids, waiters, and cleaning crew had finished the cleaning that they all had to do before they were able to all sit down with the princess and the queen.
Eventually, they all sat down and waited for the queen to speak before eating. Once everyone was settled and dressed Zamaria began breakfast off with a toast.
“I wanted to thank all of you for putting up with me this year. I want everyone to have 50 Gold salary. I want you all to have the rest of the week off for Festival of Miracles.” Zamaria explained. “Now, let us feast on our gratitude.” There was a slight smile that crept over the queen's visage.
Everyone chowed down on their food before they were able to get their days started with fun.
The queen was in her study. Which was quiet, and warm.
There were a few knocks that came from the doors behind the queen. She looked up from her book and waved her hand with a sigh of disgust. The doors unlocked, and a couple guards stepped into the study.
"We are here at your command my queen." Both of the guards replied in unison. They stood where they were, eager to work on their next task.
"Yes I see that." Zamaria said with a sour bitter taste in her mouth. She closed her book of spells and ambled towards the two guards.
"What do you want us to do my queen?" The one on the left asked.
"Danny, and Frank. I need you to make a few deliveries across Normanway. Bring an escort with you since I need you to deliver my staff to another Wizard to fix it." They both nodded.
"Yes my queen."
"Good since you're here. Here's your payment." Zamaria waved her hand and a pouch of jingling coins appeared in their hands.
"T-thank you my queen." Danny said with a smile.
"Y-yes thank you my queen." They said with shaky voices. They wrapped them around their waists excited for the gold.
"Now go please. The rest of your escort is waiting outside the gates."
"Yes my queen!" They both said as they slid across the floor and stumbled into each other making noise. The queen shook her head with doubtfully. She hoped that they'll do their job well.
Now she needed to get back to her reading.
She finished her reading, and sighed as she placed her book of spells in her private box which is inside a private drawer of her desk. Which is also hidden from the naked eye.
"I'll be damned if they loose my staff. I can't have Salaria finding out about it. Though... I must check where she is before she gets suspicious. However I doubt that she's not already suspicious about me. Oh! How guilty I feel with this magic I have." Zamaria bled towards a glowing orb that was positioned inside a holder for the orb.
All Zamaria did was wave her hands at the orb and a cloud of smoke swirled inside it. "Now let me see if I can find her." Zamaria pleaded with a breath of determination.
An image formed, and Zamaria smiled. "Good." She was at the Harbinger Barracks. Which was one of the tallest buildings which is built in the standard Emsas style.
Salaria was talking to the commander. Rogers wasn't it? "I thought that I sent him along with the escort? Oh, but wait- he's the commander of the parade. That's right!" Zamaria said, pleased with herself.
The Queen waved one of her hands and the smoke vanished. The image of Salaria and commander Roger's was gone. She needed to go see someone, and she should do it before her sister returns.
Her body vanished with a cloud of smoke, and then she was gone.
"Oh!" Said a voice behind Zamaria. "Don't you ever use the bloody doors?" Zamaria turned around.
"Oh sorry about that," but Zamaria wasn't really sorry. She liked scaring people. "I've come to your for something Chronic. I need your help." Zamaria said with a grin.
"With what?" It was asked by a concerned looking Chronic. "You know I'm leaving town in a few days." Chronic said with his ocean blue eyes looking up to his queen from the office seat that he was sitting in.
His gaze was heavy and it was telling Zamaria that he wanted something in return.
"If you help me take down the Hill Giants that are roaming to close to my kingfoms' borders I'll give you your materials for what you need to do with your machine."
Chronic sat straighter his hands were cupped together and he rolled back on his office chair. Magic had so many uses.
"You've got my attention." Chronic said with a raised brow and another quick glance at the desk. He picked up his piece of paper, it was made with a nice silky texture and the image designed on it seemed to be a machine of some sorts.
"So do we have a deal? You help me. I help you. I can get the materials, and then you wouldn't have to leave..." Zamaria offered. She was playing with her thumbs and emerald green eyes glared down at Chronic's sapphire blues. He tapped his chin with his index finger after testing his hand under his chin.
"As long as you get me the blaze core rods, and fuel cells. I need those. Then you'll be able to see the invention work." Chronic said with a smirk.
"Yes, yes I can get it all. I have contacts. Fuel cells as you know are high in value and are only sold in the black market. However, I am a queen would knows the true value of power." Zamaria said with a half-smile.
Chronic rolled his eyes and looked elsewhere other than Zamaria. He sighed and threw his hands up with defeat.
"Sure I can help you defeat those Hill Giants. However we're going to do it my way. I have a plan."
