Chapter 4
It was the Monday back, another school day closer to the day when I wont be looking back for a crack.
The memory of what I felt when Josh was suppose to leave my house. Resurfaced. Where I now stand, was in the very aisle we stood when he requested the book from my hand.
What was it that I felt? and why am I feeling it?
"Good morning Violet."
Pam greeted, the front desk lady whom allowed me to meet Josh. She had left to use the rest room, and is now wearing a bright smile awaiting my reply.
I gave her a toothless smile.
"Good morning to you too Pam."
Her smile grew even wider, this only annoyed me.
"Ah you remembered... although it seems as though you aren't that much of a morning person, is something the matter?"
She hadn't been around her desk since she came back from the rest room, she was standing a few steps away from me and I was closer to the front of the library, in an aisle.
"I promise you everything is-"
"Violet?"
I turned to find that Josh was behind me with a shy smile on his face.
"I'll leave you two love birds alone."
I heard Pam's voice from behind which only made me look at Josh in an irritated manner, accidentally, as I was facing him and not that nuisance.
"A-am sorry, should I... should I come back later?"
By now the memory had lifted and I could tend to my emotionless demeanour, I turned to the shelf to avoid anything intimate that might go on between us.
"It was enough that you came to my house on Saturday, I dont need to see you this often."
I was upset, upset that my father altered my confidence, I am starting to think that I need him more than anything because to be straight, what was that?
"Oh... I- I am sorry I shouldn't-"
"Say Chad?... your last name is Purple Stone, why not get a stone to symbolize it, that would be sick."
The voice was coming from the next aisle and had distracted me from what Josh was saying.
This only tug the anger Pam had caused earlier, getting a purple stone? an Amethyst... If he gets that crystal it will serve a reverse of the torture I am willing to inflict.
He must not!
I was listening to the words and not whom it was coming from, I later realized it was Pam.
That would be sick?
She doesn't seem to have a problem with embarrassing herself, then it hit me. I need to get around to the other side, but then luckily...he came around to my side and walked over to me.
That was when I noticed that Josh was gone, where he was standing was where chad came to greet me.
"Are you new here? your eyes looks freaky."
I looked at him from his head to his toes. He looks like a younger version of Josh, but with his hair down in his face, ear length with green eyes. He folded his arms and looked at me in a challenging way, I narrowed my eyes.
Fully aware that they might've been:
Blood red.
