🔸Chapter 27
Sato-sama leans against her car, and I continue to stand in the night shadow of the tree.
"Forgive me for not talking to you anymore, Suzuka-sensei."
"It's fine. You're my boss, you maintained hierarchy. I know for sure that you have no favorites – it's a great quality for any leader. You made the right choice. It would have spoiled me, and it wouldn't have been fair to other employees who work for the company just as hard as I do," I say. "I must apologize for not recognizing you on our first meeting day; I wouldn't have behaved so improperly with the company owner."
The princess gazes thoughtfully at the moon, "You don't have to apologize. I was afraid to start talking to you again because when you found out who I was, you might not genuinely be friends with me anymore. That's how everyone else acted: knowing that I'm a wealthy woman, people deceived me, shamelessly flattered me to get closer to my money or get a promotion. It happened not only at work but also in my personal life. As if I am indeed a dragon princess where everyone needs not me but my gold and treasures. They try to either "cut off my head" or bring something as a sacrifice, anything just to gain something from me, either by force or flattery."
It's bitter to hear her words, and I'm a bit scared at how much today resembles my morning fantasy, only in a modern setting. Can our thoughts and fantasies really materialize?
"Suzuka-sensei, please tell me what you're hiding from me. Please be honest with me."
The princess approaches me standing again under the magnolia branches.
"My secret is that I don't need gold; I only need my dragon princess and no one else."
"Suzuka..."
She silently looks down at me, letting the distance between us be about an arm's length.
The wind blows, the shadow of leaves runs like a wave across Sato-sama's face, distorting it, and her emotions are unclear to me.
"I knew I shouldn't have told you about my feelings. Now you won't want to work on a project with me. Please, just leave me at the office; it's enough for me that I can be near you, see you sometimes even from a distance."
"Suzuka-sensei, I won't change my decision. If you leave, I'll leave too." She takes a step forward, and it seems to me that there are tears in her eyes. "Don't leave me alone. I don't want to be alone anymore."
I coyly look up at her, stand on tiptoe. My trembling hands touch her cheeks. My lips uncertainly touch hers. We both freeze as if unsure that everything is happening for real. Sato-sama hugs me around the waist and pulls me close. I interrupt the kiss and press my face into her nice breasts, inhaling the natural scent of her body mixed with rose soap or body lotion.
"I won't leave you alone. You are my dragon princess, and I am your peasant girl..." I realize she won't catch the reference to my morning fantasies, but it doesn't matter to me.
"May I invite you, Suzuka-sensei, on a date tomorrow? Will you officially become my girlfriend?" she says it to the top of my head, lightly brushing her lips against my hair, sending pleasant shivers down my body.
"So, I'll have to leave the company after all, as I really want to be your girlfriend and go on dates with you," I sigh. "You can't leave – the company is your creation, many people rely on you, and I'm just a minor employee. I don't want people to think that you offered me the rebranding project just because you have a special relationship with me. I don't want you to have problems."
