🔸Chapter 24

"What do you think if each dragon girl represents different product lines of our cosmetics? This one is unbelievably cute!" She points to my rough sketch of a dragon girl in a dragon costume. She has pink cheeks and hair (the girl is lifting the hood adorned with little horns of her dragon costume as if being shy or playful).

"It would be great to have a dragon girl for each product, not just one mascot everywhere."

"Wouldn't it be too much? I want to know your opinion, Suzuka-sensei, won't our customers get confused with multiple drawings and mascots?"

"No," I confidently say. "The style will be consistent. All the drawings, as you can see, are done in the same chibi style. All dragon girls wear the same dragon costume, but in different colors and with additional distinctive details like hair, eye color, or dragon wings."

"Very well, Suzuka-sensei," Sato-sama nods approvingly. She takes off her jacket, and sometimes I catch myself glancing at her nicely strong hands (she probably exercises a lot...). "And what about the peach she's holding?"

"Aah, I'm glad you noticed! This is another idea of mine, but I don't know if you'll like it."

Sato-sama delicately picks up a piece of fish with chopsticks and puts it in her mouth, leaning back on the chair. "Go ahead, share all your ideas!"

"I imagine that each product will have its own mascot embodying the main component or purpose of the product. This dragon girl, Momo-chan – accidentally a namesake of our hostess – can adorn the packaging of our peach cream. She holds a big peach in her hands like a ball. We can make it embossed and matte on the jar. And this," I open a new drawing, "Ringo-chan, she peeks out from behind a big red apple because this fluid contains apple extract and so on. To somehow unite them all, they need their princess as the main mascot and symbol of the company."

"The one that looks like me?" the princess asks quietly.

"Exactly! I added something to her. Look, Sato-sama. I drew a crown for her. We can use her image for our expensive elite cosmetics."

"That's amazing," Sato-sama and I lean over the illustration, not noticing that she's touching my hair with her head. "We need to write a story about them, a mini manga, and include it in gift packaging and tell about their lives and friendship during the holiday launch of a new collection and press conference!"

"How great! And who will draw and come up with the text for our manga about dragon girls? Will you hire artists? Matsui-san can draw, but she's a marketer by profession and monitors the integrity and image of our brand, and Midori is just a designer; she can create a good flyer or social media post, but she can't come up with text..." I contemplate out loud.

"You, of course, who else!" Sato-sama enjoys watching my surprised face. "Or are you not motivated enough to become my art director in the future?" she asks slyly, squinting one eye.

"I'm ready! I'll do everything!" I exclaim with such enthusiasm that I immediately cover my mouth with my hand, afraid of attracting the attention of other customers.
