Eurovision 2018 | Top 29
I know I could have waited for Portugal but I know that I will need quite a lot of time to remember their entry as no matter what they choose, it will be forgettable :')
29. UNITED KINGDOM | SuRie - Storm -6
➞ There's something about her that I don't like, probably the way she delivers the song. About Storm, I only like the verses, as the chorus leaves me completely cold.
28. MONTENEGRO | Vanja Radovanović - Inje -6
➞ Every time this song starts to grow on me, some better songs are added and I completely forget about this one :/
27. FRANCE | Madame Monsieur - Mercy -8
➞ I'm begging you, Europe, don't let this win. Please.
26. ICELAND | Ari Ólafsson - Our Choice NEW
➞ Oh, sweet Iceland, what have you done? Have you no love for your country? Must you go on and killing your chances of getting to the final? You can be the best singer in the world, but when you're given a bad song, there is just no way you can make it work (except for Azerbaijan 2011, but the singers were as bad as the song, actually...). At least, he's sort of cute, but unfortunately for him, it's not a beauty pageant, so bye bye Iceland, you are dead to me now...
25. MALTA | Christabelle - Taboo -9
➞ Yeah I'm really starting to get tired of this...
24. SPAIN | Alfred & Amaia - Tu Canción -9
➞ Still way too cheesy for me, and his voice is still annoying.
23. CZECH REPUBLIC | Mikolas Josef - Lie To Me -6
➞ Same as Montenegro actually, as soon as a new song pops up, I forget about this one.
22. SLOVENIA | Lea Sirk - Hvala, Ne! -1
➞ I still can't believe they sent this...
21. SAN MARINO | Jessika & Jenifer Brening - Who We Are NEW
➞ Who on earth had the idea to fire IROL and to put this Jenifer Brening instead? The chorus isn't bad but she ruins everything with her cringy rap part.
20. SERBIA | Sanja Ilić & Balkanika - Nova Deca =
➞ What can I say? Dragi dragi.
19. ARMENIA | Sevak Khanagyan - Qami -6
➞ Oh how I wish Tamar could sing...
18. MOLDOVA | DoReDos - My Lucky Day -7
➞ Not a fan of the staging but the song is fun.
17. ALBANIA | Eugent Bushpepa - Mall -3
➞ I want the revamp!
16. ROMANIA | The Humans - Goodbye +1
➞ Will this Goodbye become the song that everybody hates but I secretly enjoy?
15. AZERBAIJAN | Aisel - X My Heart NEW
➞ I wish it was more memorable, because I quite enjoy listening to it. Not a masterpiece, but with a good staging, it will qualify without problems.
14. GERMANY | Michael Schulte - You Let Me Walk Alone -6
➞ I'm not super fond of ballad in general, that's why this one dropped. It probably still has my vote though.
13. ESTONIA | Elina Netšajeva - La Forza NEW
➞ If casual viewers respond to this song as well as the fandom did, this is a serious contender to the win.
12. SWITZERLAND | ZIBBZ - Stones =
➞ I'm really wondering how they will stage this, as their national final performance was mainly based on LED screens...
11. GREECE | Gianna Terzi - Óneiró Mou -1
➞ I'm already starting to get bored of this to be honest...
10. DENMARK | Rasmussen - Higher Ground -1
➞ I really hope they won't change their staging, it's perfect this way!
9. BELARUS | Alekseev - Forever -5
➞ This song is constantly moving between tenth and fourth spot, for some reason :')
8. LATVIA | Laura Rizzotto - Funny Girl -3
➞ Same for this one actually.
7. ITALY | Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro - Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente -1
➞ I just love the instrumental of this song...
6. CYPRUS | Eleni Foureira - Fuego +1
➞ This song will grow on me even more when I'll get used to that burning car of the music video... And by the way, someone has to make a mashup of Fuego and Cool Me Down **
5. POLAND | Gromee & Lukas Meijer - Light Me Up NEW
➞ I'm not a fan of the live version, a bit too messy for me, but the song itself was awesome and deserved to win! Now let's see if people will respond positively to this or not...
4. THE NETHERLANDS | Waylon - Outlaw In 'Em -2
➞ I just can't wait to see what the staging will look like!
3. HUNGARY | AWS - Viszlát Nyár =
➞ There are some moments when I feel I'll never understand the majority. This song is awesome people, stop putting it last!
2. UKRAINE | Mélovin - Under The Ladder -1
➞ I still love this song and performance, but I think it's time for me to start looking for a winner. This song is appreciated by a lot of people, but except ESC Marissa (shout out to her and her usually amazing taste), I don't remember seeing anyone really rooting for Ukraine. Besides, we just won two years ago, so we're not returning to Kiev anytime soon (well, you never know but hey). So as much as I love this song, it's not winner material, unfortunately :/
1. FINLAND | Saara Aalto - Monsters NEW
➞ Oh boy, where to start?
This song is amazing. And so is Saara. But the performance... Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the staging - which was indeed a bit messy, but at least something was happening on stage; let's say it was a demo. But vocally... it's just not the Saara I'm used to listen to. You know, when I hear an audio version of a song, my main worry is actually the way the singer's live vocals will sound like. But as it is Saara Aalto, I wasn't worried. Now, I'm starting to be. Some people say it's UMK's sound system that is bad, others say it's stress. I'm really hopping it's one of those reasons and not the fact that Monsters is simply not made to suit her voice well enough. If nothing is changed in May, I still believe it will qualify, because it's a quality song. But I'm talking about winning, now. Everything has to be perfect. So I really hope that everything will be fixed by May, and that she will slay everyone, and win the whole thing. Because I want to - virtually - go to Finland next year (well, technically, I will go to Finland next year, but it won't be in May). Let's face it, this year has a lot of good songs, but it doesn't really have a song with "WINNER" written all over it - I know that not all of the songs are released yet, but still - so it might be everyone's chance (or almost... Yes, I'm looking at you, Iceland), so don't screw up, Finland, I'm counting on you...
