22. Flight of courage
With fragile wings and trembling heart,
A bird prepares for its maiden start.
Nestled in the safety of its nest,
It feels the urge to leave, to test.
With hesitant steps, it edges near,
To the edge of the nest, to the edge of fear.
Its heart beats fast, its breath a sigh,
As it gazes out at the boundless sky.
For days it's watched the world below,
Longing to join, to spread and grow.
But now the moment's here at last,
To spread its wings, to leave the past.
With a leap of faith, it takes the plunge,
Into the unknown, where dreams are spun.
Its wings unfurl, catching the breeze,
As it soars aloft, with effortless ease.
At first, it stumbles, awkward and unsure,
But with each beat of its wings, it finds allure.
The wind beneath its feathers, a guiding hand,
As it learns to navigate this vast expanse of land.
With practice and patience, it gains in grace,
Its movements fluid, its pace a race.
Higher and higher, it climbs the sky,
A symbol of freedom, of courage to fly.
And as it soars on wings of air,
The bird discovers it was always there.
The strength, the skill, the will to soar,
Were always within, waiting to explore.
So let the bird inspire us all,
To heed the call, to rise and fall.
For like the bird, we too can learn,
To spread our wings, and let our spirits burn.
