The jig is up
Isaac kissed her, for a second it was almost painful, his untamed lips kissed her wildly with such desperation and hunger. In his kiss she tasted the ashes of burning stars and vanished galaxies. He then gentled, kissing her sweetly, restraining himself, his hands caressing her cheek and her hands tangled in his hair.
He pulled her tightly and Amelia moaned, forgetting about where she was, who she was and what she was doing. This was what heaven felt like.
"I think they're over here!" One of the guards bellowed, getting closer to Amelia and Isaac.
Amelia gearing this immediately panicked and pushed Isaac once again. This time surprisingly he was caught completely off guard and landed on his behind.
The guards found Isaac sitting on the ground looking quite irritated and seemingly felt their imminent deaths as they took a few steps back. Amelia took this and walked right past them.
"Where do you think you're going?" Isaac called out.
"I'm tired, I want to take a nap," was Amelia's witty response, but truth be told, the sight of Isaac was tugging at her heart and she felt like one more smile from him would wrench it out off her chest, giving itself to him.
She walked along the forest, not making eye contact with anyone. She wasn't sure what to make of the situation. What did the pack members know? Were they angry at her for escaping? Did she lose the respect she had worked so hard to earn? What was the new relationship between her and Isaac?
Amelia couldn't think rationally about all these bulging questions because she felt a hot gaze burning a hole through her behind.
"Do you mind?" She huffed, emphasizing each word.
"Oh no, just enjoying the view," Isaac replied arrogantly.
"Well the view does not like being enjoyed so look somewhere else," she said, suddenly feeling very self conscious as she tried to shield her behind.
Isaac tried to disagree but the look she gave told him he was already walking on thin ice. So he turned his head sideways, pretending to be fascinated by a neighboring tree. Although Amelia caught him stealing a few glances every now and then from the corner of her eye.
The guards followed behind Isaac, keeping a distance from their Alpha, ever so often pushing each other forward as offerings of sacrifice. Luckily for them the Alpha was captivated by the brunette walking in front of him. How did the guards know he was captivated?
Well let's just say the last wolf to try and walk in front of the Alpha could no longer try to walk at all. The Alpha led, that was the law. And now he was following her around. Plus the massive smile he was trying to suppress wasn't helping his case either.
I mean what type of strange person smiles at trees like that?
When they reached pack territory, Amelia could see many pack members wandering around. The Luna had been found. The same one question clouding their minds, what will happen of her?
What they weren't expecting was Isaac standing front and center as he announced-
"WE WERE PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK. I HAD A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS GAME SO FUCK OFF."
Amelia had been dreading confronting the pack but after hearing his little statement she looked at Isaac for a second and then burst out laughing. From all the things in the world- hide and seek.
But she was in debt to Isaac for making up an excuse to try and protect her from their judgement. So she stood next to him and gave him a peck on the cheek.
The pack was rattled. One of the members physically dropped the dagger he was polishing, a woman had her mouth opened like a gold fish, the lady next to her was pinching herself to make sure this wasn't some type of illusion while a little old man in the corner munched on his sandwich. This was going to be good.
They had seen their Alpha angry, irritated, pissed off, blank faced, cruel, proud, fierce but affectionate? The idea seemed so bizarre.
Isaac, bothered by the idea of his pack seeing him look weak, grabbed Amelia by the arm and headed towards his house. They walked silently, not knowing what to say until an exasperated Jake came running towards them with a cellphone in his right hand and a scowling Iris dragging her feet behind him.
Before Isaac could take the cell phone from the Jake's hand, he handed it to Amelia.
"It's for you," he stated breathlessly.
"Looks like mommy and daddy have been hearing their little angel eloped with the Devil," Iris chuckled.
