Erica's POV

I woke up with painful head arch. I was feeling extremely dizzy as I sat down to see that I was no longer in the throne room. It seems like I was in a barrier room.

There was a window and two bars beside me and a bar in front of me. I crawled backwards as I rested my head and back on the wall.

"Damn it, now I'm in the donjon." I muttered out.

"Me too but I'm glad you're okay," a small voice said.

I can recognise that voice.

"Nora is that you?" I questioned as she crawled out from the dark into the light of the moon which peaked out through the small window.

"Yes It's me. Are you okay? I heard what the king did to you. Your head is still bleeding," she said in a worried tone.

"I'm okay. I'll get use to it."
"Why were you hiding in the dark? Are you okay?" I also asked in concern.

"I'm good, It's just 20 lashes. I was bleeding so bad so I didn't want to cover you up with it." She told me.

"I'm glad you're okay." I smiled at her.
"But I thought you vampires heal yourselves?"

"Yeah but vampires have different species."
"I'm half human half vampire. My mum is a vampire and my dad is a human." She told me.

Now I understand, why she's different. She's a half breed and she didn't let the devil in her consume the humanity in her.
If she was thought so, that means she have got good parents and she lost them because of this kingdom.

My family wasn't taken away from me also hers at a young age but the funny thing was, she was adapting to it fast.

"I get. Sorry dear. I guess your stronger emotionally than I am." I replied to her.

"But you're way better than I Erica. I like you so much, you're so brave and strong. I like that your courageous sprite and beautiful potential. I like you that way." She told me.

I was mesmerized by her words as I opened my arms for her to hug me and she quickly did.
I guess she isn't that bad.

"Enough of the love, come out punk." A male guard spoke as he opened the bar door.

"I'm not going anywhere." Nora restrained.

"Are you challenging me?" The guard asked angrily.

"What part of leave her alone, you don't understand brute." I replied back.

"Shut up human slave. You're just as useless as your kind. Very soon, I'll like to see you die," he said arrogantly as he dragged Nora out of my arms.

I got up to drag her back but another guard kicked me with his leg in a harsh manner. They quickly closed the gate and replied. '' Just wish for death stupid human, because you're going to die there."

And that's how Nora left me. I was left in the donjon to suffer, to starve and mostly to die.
Well that's exactly what I wanted.
What was life again?

I was given a square of meal once in two days and I didn't eat them because they were covered in blood.
What I could only take was unclean water.

I'm sure I was going to have decentry.

Everyday I was tormented with out rest.
Eachday those guards would place snakes or scorpion in the donjon to bite me but I'll kill them all.

Sometimes I'm been thrown wine or food at my face.

"Slave princess." They all mocked.

"Oh Slave princess how is the donjon? Do you love it? Enjoy your chambers. It's so lovely."

"Stop trying to leave in regrets. Just die," one of them said throwing me an iron cup on my forehead.

They all kept this for a month. I didn't see Nora anymore. I was lonely and I didn't care. They can say all what they want.
I'll avenge my families death.
Just let me get out from here first.
But my regrets are weighing me down.

I rested my back on the wall as I brought my legs to my chest and rested my chin on my knees.

It still was a shock to me, how my family was killed in front of me. I couldn't do anything, I'm just too useless as a woman. Just too useless.
If I was born a male, I would have done better.
I want to die, I want to have my revenge but nothing to figure out.
I'm so ashamed of myself.

"Hey, human slave." I heard a woman authoritative voice speak.

I raised my head to see her standing in front of me with the bar door opened.
When did she open the bar door without I noticing?
I need to stop this lack of not being conscious.

"Crawl out human." She ordered as I hastily did.

Now I was standing before her.
She was indeed a good looking woman and towered me just with little itches.

She hard a dirty blond hair and nice brown eyes. She was dressed in a mini length dress which showed some of her cleavages.
Just staring at her, I can see how prideful and powerful she could be.

But I never felt low esteemed.
I never felt low ranked around her.
But I kept my mouth shut because of how dry my throat was.

"Slave princess. It borders me that you're out of the donjon in quite a short time." She told me.

I cared the less.

"You're meant to live in that rotten place for another 6 months but the king requesting for your release, is a burden on my shoulders." She told me once again.

Why the hell is she telling me this crap?

"Now, lets head to the chase."
"Kneel down." She commanded.

She must be joking.

"I said on your kneels." She ordered once again In an arrogant tone.

I swallowed my saliva to lubricate my throat a little even though it hurts a bit.

"Don't feel cocky woman. If I can't bow down to your devil of a king, who are you for me to do so?" I answered.

"How dear you challenge me you irritating good for nothing human being." She insulted landing a slap on my face.

I cared less.

"I said bow down now." She screamed making my ear drums cry for help.

"And I said I will not." I replied stubbornly.

"GUARDS... GUARDS." She screamed louder as three guards came rushing.

"Get her down on her knees and give her 15 lashes for disrespecting me," she said in a wicked tone.

The three guards kicked the back of my legs and I landed flat on the floor. Without any pity the three guards flogged the living day out of me with horse tails.

One whip from them was counted as three, then another whip landed on my back till I was beaten 45 times.

My eyes were red as blood because of the pain they inflicted on me and I vowed not to cry. I could see my blood on the tiled marble floor.

Suddenly the guards eyes glittered red as they where now ready to feed on me.

"Enough, you may leave." She told the guards as they left.

"Now I hope you know your place slave princess," she said with a delight tone.

I was in so much pain not being able to utter a word. She stared at me in disgust.

"Just look how pathetic you're."
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Nika. Lady Nika. I'm supreme over every servants and staff workers here. And you being the only slave princess here..." She laughed.
"I'm also your boss around here." She told me.

"Linda and Rosa." She called out as two young ladies wearing a maid uniform came rushing.

"Her assigned job is too fetch fire woods for the royal kitchen. She won't clean or wash the dishes her work is to fetch fire woods and water every day and all alone." Nika told them as the 2 girls stared in shock.

"She'll also clean the guards halls and campus all alone and when she's done she sleeps outside. Is that clear?"

The 2 ladies nodded their heads.

"But lady Nika can't we help her,  she's a human, it's too much for her." The lady named Linda spoke.

"Shut up fool and let her do as I say." Nika told her and left.

The 2 ladies stared at me with pity. "Sorry." They both apologized.

But for what?

I got back on my feet and kept looking at them.

"My name is Linda. I'm a full breed vampire. Nice to meet you," she said nicely.

Why the nice act? That won't deceive me.

"And I'm Rosa, a half breed," she said in a giddy mood.

Why the giddiness?

"So what's ya name?" Linda asked as I took in her appearance.

She had brown hair and warm eyes. While the girl named Rosa had black hair and warm blue eyes.

She definitely looks like a half breed.

"I'm Erica." I replied plainly.

"What a beautiful name." Rosa complimented.

"Lets go change you." Linda told me.

"It's not necessary, take me to my assigned duties." I told her in an emotionless tone.

"Okay, If you need help we are here to help you okay," Rosa said.

"Not appropriated, I'm not a weakling." I told them plainly.

"Alright." They responded in confusion.

They both turned around as they lead me to my assigned post. Once I was in the kitchen all the maidens attention where now on me.

"Good evening everyone." Linda greeted.

"Good evening." They all replied.

If I'm not mistaken there are 6 maidens which works in the kitchen.

"This is Erica our new assistant." Rosa announced.

"Wow!" They all exclaimed.

"Yeah," Rosa said proudly.

"She's beautiful," one of them said.

I didn't expect that from them.

"She's got nice hair." Another complimented.

"Isn't she that human salve?" Another asked.

"And so if she is? From now you all will address her as Erica. Did you get that." Rosa warned being annoyed.

Why is she annoyed on my behalf?

"Yes Rosa."

"I really like the stories about you." Another spoke out shyly.
"You're one brave woman." She complimented.

"I appreciate. Kindly show me what to do." I told them.

"Oh, I apologies. See you later girls." Linda said dragging me out from the kitchen back door as Rosa followed suite.

We kept walking forward until I met a rectangular gate with a nice design. Rosa opened it as we stepped in to see like a camp site but it was like a building arranged scatteredly.

I could see guards moving too and fro.

"This is the guards domain. I apologies that you've got to clean it alone." Linda told me worriedly.

"The guards here are assholes. Please don't let them touch you." Rosa pleaded.

"They won't." I replied plainly staring around.

"Don't let them trample on you okay." Linda added.

"They can't." I replied with a blank expression.

Linda and Rosa stared at me worriedly and in shock.

"Trust me, you blood leashes won't get a chance." I told them with a hard tone.

And proceeded to fetch water and fire wood.
I'm strong, I get that but it was truly too much for me.

I'll cut the woods and gather them in bundles then carry them all to the royal kitchen which was way far from where I was gathering the woods.

Once I was done.
I'll fill in 12 drums of water which was far from the river as well.

I was finally done and moved to clean the guards hall way and the surrounding.

"If it isn't that slave princess." A guard spoke 3 feet away from me.

"She is truly pretty just like the story tells." Another guard added.

"I can smell her blood, it will taste worth it," Another guard added.

Hearing the name blood 3 more guards gathered around me.

Now I was against 6 blood suckers.

"I would be polite if you all retuned to your goddamn post." I told them nicely as I quietly swept the dry leafs at one spot.

"A weakling like you shouldn't talk back at us." One of them spoke angrily.

"And if you near me I'll show you that I'm not as weak as you think, fool ." I replied being irritated with their presence.

"Did you just Insult me you stupid slave?" He questioned as he charged towards me with his sharp claws and teeth.

I rolled my broom in my fingers and hit him across the face and he stumbled sideways.

What a vampire, with slow reflexes?

"Beat her down." One of them ordered angrily.

I picked up my bucket, threw it the air and kicked it with my legs sideways as it hit one of the guards.

2 down, 4 more to beat.

As they all came closer, I used the end of my broom and hit one of the vampires eyes, which made it bleed. I rolled my broom in the air as each end hit their disgusting face.

3 down already, how poor.

Before I could turn to attack the last guy, I was trampled to the ground by the rest.

They held my both hands and kept me put.

"You stupid human." One of them yelled ready to land a slap on my face.

"Don't touch her." A familiar voice ordered.

The vampire in which intended to hit me stepped back in fear.

"Commander David. This brat..."

"Beat the sense out of you all, that show how useless you could be." David interjected sternly.

"Please, don't think of us as such, the only useless person here is this human." Another vampire added.

"Enough of yuh nonsense. I'm disappointed on you all. You all are weak and useless. This human here have proved it here today. Let her go, I won't repeat myself." He ordered once again as they did.

Why did he speak on my behalf? That's stupid.

I picked up my broom and my bucket heading out of the guards domain.

"You okay Erica?" David asked running towards me.

I turned around and eyed him up and down. Regarding his good doings they are all the same.

Blood suckers.
Humanity killers.
Wicked bastards.

"I could handle my situation without your help." I told him, opened the small gate and stepped out.

They are all same.
