Covered in wounds and bruises, this soldier entered a cave in order to seek for shelter, to recover himself.

Upon crawling much deeper, he suddenly saw a dim light, coming from the bottom of the cave.

"Find me..."

The soldier gasped.

"Was I... imagining things?" he said to himself, while crawling much deeper into the cave, trying to find the source of light.

When he reached the source of light, the soldier slowly got down to the hole in the ground. It was difficult, but he managed.

His eyes set sight to a little floating, dim light.

"Follow me..."

That voice again, echoed in his mind. He made it his goal to find the source of the voice, even if it's his fantasy.

Slowly but sure, he followed the light, and he was led to a short altar with a book, laying down flat.

"What... Is this?" the soldier slowly reached the book, trying to open the very first page, saying...

"नित्यता प्रतीक्षते"

It didn't take long for him to understand, somehow...

"Eternity... awaits..." he chanted.

Butterflies.

White butterflies sprouted from the book, landing on his wounded eye and chest.

In his eyes, bloomed a single silver flower, where vines sprouted. His skin turned pale, his hair turned white as ash.

The butterfly that landed on his chest sprouted a black mud from his wound, spreading vines as well.

His eyes turned pale white as the snow. His emotions of pain turned into a grin.

"To be... Into an eternity of living."

"Did you fail capturing his soul?"

"Yeah, as they said, his soul is somewhat impossible to earn..."

"Told you! It didn't even took seconds for him to send me back to underworld..."

Sighing everywhere. It's not a myth anymore that this one human is impossible to retrieve to the final resting.

"How does a single human can make the whole underworld worried??"

A single grim reaper who just happen to be first time stationed just felt confused.

A mexican grim reaper, Norton Campbell. He's previously a miner in his human life, somehow he made it in to be a grim reaper, but his previous life memories were erased for good.

"He's no normal human! He possessed a powerful magic, strong enough to even make a grim reaper kneel on his feet!" one of the grim reaper said, in tone of fear.

"What happened to you when you went to harvest his soul?" Norton asked in his curiosity.

"I don't know, his soul somehow rejected my scythe and it's power almost destroyed it!" the senior grim reaper said.

"When he noticed that his soul is going to be harvested, he literally mocked us for not being able to harvest his soul! Somehow he can see us, although no normal human can..." other grim reaper joined in the conversation.

"And then! He used his hands and literally throwing me around! Fortunately we grim reapers are unable to feel pain..." another one said something about his experience with this man.

"He sounds like a tough nut to crack... I would love to handle this case myself..." Norton said with self confidence.

"If you want to, you can. Just ask permission to the higher upper." a super senior grim reaper joined in the conversation. Clothed in black, having a red gem in his chest, makes all his junior fear him in an instant.

"Sir Jack! Fancy seeing you here, sir..." one of the grim reaper who's in the conversation said, and bowed to the senior grim reaper.

"No need of formalities. I shall accompany you to see the higher upper." Jack lend his hand to Norton, taking him to see the higher upper.

Knock, knock.

"Just enter, it's not locked."

The door opened slowly, revealing a demon, clothed in a dark, starry night like colored attire. His horns are pretty big, and his eyes are blue like sapphire.

"Oh, it's you Jack... And a newbie?" the demon said.

"This is the head of the Soul Harvesting Department, his name is Joseph, and he's an Azrael." Jack introduced the demon to Norton.

"No need to make me look so big. I'm just your office and tired demon. State what you need, I'll check if I let you get the permission for it." Joseph gestured his hand to make it quick.

"Are you still fussing about the immortal human?" Jack asked.

"Pretty much... Even our most senior grim reaper are unable to go and harvest him..." Joseph just straight banged his head on the table.

"Sorry for asking this, but have you tried harvesting him, sir Jack?" Norton asked.

"Yes, and even though I was given time of 1 year to try and harvest him, he was... What should I say... A very difficult man." Jack tried to remember what happened back then with him and the man.

"That even sounds more fun and challenging. Give me 6 months and I'll harvest him down! If I fail... You can reborn me as human and give me the most miserable life." Norton asked for a challenge to Joseph. Joseph's jaw drop in an instant.

"You WHAT?!" he suddenly shouted out of surprise.

"Not even Jack here is able to harvest his soul, you? Someone who just joined? You're out of your head!" Joseph banged on the table, furious of Norton who's making fun of this job.

"No, I'm not. I know what I'm doing." Norton seriously said.

"You haven't even started harvesting a single soul and you're already asking for the worst job. Are you really sure you wanted this?" Joseph warned, with a furious face.

"Yep, super ready. I always love challenges." Norton reacted with a grin on his face.

Joseph tried to calm down and rethink about this.

"Alright. I'm not that cruel, so I'll give you 9 months to try and harvest him down. If you are not able to, you know the consequences, the one you chose yourself." he spoke in a calmer tone.

"Haha, you're being too generous. But since you're the higher upper, I will follow your rules." Norton smiled.

"Jack will be the supervisor. Every end of the month, he will come and retrieve a report out of you. I hope you don't disappoint me." Joseph sighed, but his face seems relieved for a reason.

"Alright, game on."
