Chapter 5

Later in the day Bow went her way home but decided to hang around the sea side. I noticed bird flying high in the sky; I wish I were that free. I breathed in the salty air and let the crystal clear water drown my bare feet. Nope too cold, so ran up at least three meters away from the water and stared at the sunset up at the purple sky then down along the beach where I saw a ship. From the flag I can tell its pirate ship. I hid behind big boulders that were close to the ship, I saw two of the thieves that were being chased down I searched all along the ship to find the head thief or pirate but he was not there. I held my breath when I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I slowly turned myself around and met the dark eyes of the man who I saved with a little pebble. He stood there his back leaning against a rock and his arms crossed. His scent smelt of dead fish and salt, which really put me off. He gave me smirk which made me even sicker. He started walking towards me; I stood my ground not threatened by some boy that steals treasure for a living.

"Well hello, we never got the chance to be introduced I'm Pete." He said I just looked at him blankly.

"Pete the pirate. Not a very threatening name." I finally said. He smiled showing off his glistening his white teeth. "I must say what you did out there was pretty... stupid" I commented and he started laughing.

"Yes well thanks to you I could have died but you saved me with a simple little stone." He said taking a step closer. I hesitated.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," I implied

"I saw what you did, I should thank you." I took one deep breath unfortunately he noticed.

"No! I did not although I am flattered that you think I could possibly throw a pebble that far." I exclaimed he took another step.

"Ah ha! I never said it was a pebble." He mischievously said. I swear I was about to blow. Oh why am I bothering with this mongrel I shouldn't even be here? My Gods what is the time I looked towards the sunset I could see the stars." Beautiful isn't it?" He asked his face towards the sea but his dark eyes on me. I walked past him heading for the path that led back to town. Sadly he followed running after me.

"Now wait a minute I never got your name!" I turned around to face him. I gestured him to come closer my lips at his ear.

"I never gave it you." I said then ran up the hill. This time he didn't follow, part of me wished he had.
