(Volume 2) Chapter 4:Horrifying Presence

The Amalgamation slowly lands on the ground, you quickly unsheathe your Kitsune. 

You:"Who are you!?" you're trembling as the abomination of energies walks slowly towards you. You look at his right ring finger and notice he has a Ring that's is starting to glow a Mystic Green type color. 

Amalgamation:"Ah Equinox it's not a matter of who am I." He vanishes in a black mist and appears right in front of you as you quickly swing downwards onto him, your blade is stopped by his hand. "It's a matter of WHAT am I? " You use your Combustion side to explosively kick his side. It has no effect as he laughs, he then extends his palm as it trembles violently before blasting you back as a massive shockwave explodes from his hand. "Well if you must know, I am what your past incarnations could never defeat. And I don't intend to start changing that now." 

He blitz towards you in no time at all as his foot glows with a bright orange color and he slams his foot on the ground and the ground uproots around you and fly upwards as you get thrown up, he dashes after as one of his arms squirm as multiple bones burst out of his arm and completely cover his arm in a razor sharp fashion before stabbing it into your back as you cry out in pain. He slams you into the ground with the razor bones still in your back and the Amalgamation towering above you. 

Amalgamation:"Aww, that looked like it hurt, you are so much weaker then your predecessors." A massive lightning bolt is shot at him, you weakly look up and see Jack on the floor, weak, afraid, and injured. 

Jack(Weak):"S-stay away from him!" You feel such terror as you try to get up only for the Amalgamation to stab you down with more bones.

You:"Get out of here Jack!" The Amalgamation laughs

Amalgamation:"Isn't this precious...such a loving family. Perhaps if I inflict the same pain I put your previous predecessors through, then I can have more of a challenge." He yanks the bones out of your back and you cry out in pain. His other arm is engulfed with steel from the surrounding area and he begins walking towards Jack. Jack continuously fires at the Amalgamation with his lightning, but the lightning only seems to be absorbed directly into his steel arm which in turns heats up adding a red-hot glow to it.

You:"Stay away from him!" He towers over Jack with his arm drawn back "I said! GET AWAY FROM HIM!" You yell as your body instantly gains power and your body glows with white vein-like cracks forming as your Ring glows profusely and your shout sends out a humongous dense white fireball in the shape of a Lion's head at the Amalgamation. It hits him and it engulfs him as you burst over to Jack and then burst you both out of the way of the explosion. The explosion goes on for a while but it seems to be getting sucked into where the Amalgamation is. He walks through the explosion as the flames are absorbed and he brushes off his suit. 

Amalgamation:"What a shame..." You grow furious as your body explodes with Fire and energy on your right and ice forms around your skin and onto the surrounding area on your left. "It does seem like your connection to your predecessors grow when I threaten your loved ones. Perhaps I should go after your teammates next." Your mind flashes to Yang and your energy explodes as your white vein-like cracks flare with light and your Frost and Combustion begin to merge as the temperature around spikes and drops dramatically with your Flame becoming blue and your Ice becoming black and your eyes unknowingly switching from green to Lavender and Cosmic Blue "Ooh, touched a nerve, didn't I?" You explode at him and drop kick down and it goes straight through him as he turned into a black mist yet again. However your kick was so powerful that the ground completely shattered and caused a massive BlueFlame-BlackIce explosion that swirls around you and causing the entire warehouse to rumble. "It seems like you have someone quite important to you in your team, I'll be sure to take note of this in the future." You call your blade to you and coat it in your Blue flames as you frantically look around trying to find the Amalgamation, your chest hurting incredibly. 

You:"COME OUT AND FACE ME YOU COWARD!" The Amalgamation's laughter echoes throughout the warehouse.

Amalgamation:"I do admire your courage Equinox, but it won't do much good for you in the end, I was only sent to destroy any evidence of this place. Speaking of which..." He appears in front of you as you feel an intense amount of energy building above him. He brings his hand up and grabs the energy as it forms into that glowing Greatsword you saw in your nightmares. "Till we meet again." He plunges the sword down as you see his Ring glow and the result is a raging dome of energy to swirl around him as Jack grabs you and immediately bolts you out of the warehouse. Luckily he did as the warehouse is engulfed by a massive pillar of mystic green light. You feel that the Amalgamation's presence is completely gone...and so is the warehouse as all that remains is a smoldering crater. You look over at Jack worried.

You:"Are you alright Jack?" Jack nods as his body is still somewhat covered in soot, he coughs violently before looking at you terrified

Jack:"I'm fine. But what happened to you and most importantly who the hell was that guy?"

You:"I-I don't know when I saw you in danger my instincts took over and so did the Ring's power I guess, as for that guy I have no clue...he knows I'm the Equinox and his Ring looked similar to mine so I can only guess that this isn't going to be the last time we see him." God...that entire fight felt like you were fighting against an entire arsenal of different abilities and energies. You look down at yourself as your flames flicker and fade and your ice evaporates, the vein-like cracks fade as well and your eye color returns to normal. Your chest aches incredibly as now you feel all the pain coming from your incredibly injured back and you groan in pain.

Jack:"We need to get you to the hospital with those wounds." Jack coughs violently before continuing "We better report this back to the others."

You:"Good idea." You take out your scroll and are about to contact the Team but all of a sudden you get a call from Blake.

Jack:"Well that was convenient." Jack coughs lightly afterwards.

Blake:"Everyone! If you can hear me we need back-" She gets interrupted by Sun screaming.

Sun:"HEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! They got a robot, and it's big, really big. The Torchwick guy is in it! But not like, it didn't eat him- he's like, controlling it or something!"

You:"Torchwick? We're on our way!" You look over to Jack as you both nod at each other and begin sprinting over to where Blake and Sun are.

Jack:"At this rate we won't make it there!" Jack's body becomes covered in Lightning and you start charging up a massive blast in your right hand. 

Jack bolts off in incredible speed and you send off a massive explosion in your right arm propelling you into the sky. You feel intense pain as you look at your arm and see that it has that ash color to it again, your Ring glowing lightly as the ash is still slowly fading away. You'll have to work through the pain as you use multiple explosions and catch up to Jack who is now bolting across rooftops and you both can see where the rest of the team is fighting. Which so happens to be on a highway...great. From what you can tell it's getting rather intense. 

Jack:"Hey (F)!" You hear Jack yell, you look down and Jack bolts upwards and flies up next to you "Grab on to me!" You do as he says and quickly grab onto his arm as he focuses and closes his eyes and you guys begin falling, a Lightning dome forms around you both as a storm forms above you both, the lightning from the storm hits the dome and the dome lights up brilliantly before blasting you both in immense speeds with a trail of lightning blaring behind you and you both almost immediately head dome-first into the...oh it's an Atlesian Paladin that Torchwick's piloting, that aim't good but regardless, the Paladin already seemed like it was going to fall down onto the ground below the high-way as the ground seems frozen over by Weiss's Myrtenaster. The dome crashes against the Paladin and it gets flung off the edge as the sound of thunder explodes from the collision. Problem is that you and Jack were sent hurtling down with the Paladin, the dome disperses as you both collide on the ground and unluckily you landed on your back and scrape against the concrete, massive pain screams out from across your back but you get up and unsheathe your Kitsune. Jack springs up with Lightning trailing across him.

You:"Nice move Jack!"

Jack:"Thanks I've been working on that for awhile, I'ma call it Thunder Burst." You roll your eyes smugly before getting serious and looking over at You and the Paladin to see that it's crashed into the ground, electricity sparking from it. It quickly gets up though and from what you can tell Jack's 'Thunder Burst' didn't seem to hurt it that much. The rest of Team RWBY jumps down next to you all

Yang:"Where did you guys come from?" She notices your bleeding back and Jack covered in soot. "And...just what happened to you guys?" You all notice the Paladin is starting to charge at you all.

You:"Uh, fighting first, explanation later!" You all stand ready and Ruby yells

Ruby:"Freezerburn!" You jump out of the way as Weiss plunges her Myrtenaster into the ground and ice forms as Yang jumps violently into the air before readying her arm and slamming her arm into the ground as she fired an explosive shot from her Ember Celica. The entire area explodes as its covered in an icy mist. Ah, getting rid of the Paladin's heat tracking. Smart. Anyways, You begin setting off massive explosions near its limbs before the Paladin fires missiles at you, you slam your Frost foot down as Ice explodes upwards and freezes the Missiles in place before they explode and sending Ice everywhere. Jack summons his Tempest and switches it to its Greatsword mode as he swings it back before filling the blade with Lightning before bolting upwards and unleashing a spinning tornado attack on the Paladin's face. The Paladin gets knocked back before recoiling and slamming its face against Jack and gets slammed into the ground, embedded in the concrete.

Ruby:"Checkmate!" She yells as she fires her Crescent Rose as the resulting recoil sends her flying back as Blake and Weiss run up to it and start carrying out a flurry of attacks on it. Weiss uses her Glyphs to lift her up and stab into one of the main guns in the front of the Paladin before using her Glyph to send her backwards along with Blake who was about to be crushed by the Paladin's foot. The Paladin sends missiles outwards and you shoot a few out of the air by sending controlled fireballs at the missiles. Weiss then uses a time dilation type Glyph on Blake and Blake pulls off a frenzy of attacks and the resulting attacks causes all of the missiles to explode.

Ruby:"Ladybug!" Ruby yells as she slashes above over the Paladin and Blake and Ruby start slicing simultaneously at its legs before jumping up and both of them slicing at its arm as it gets cut off.

Ruby:"Storm Flower!" That sounds familiar.

Jack:"Wait isn't that Ren's-"

Ruby:"JUST DO IT!" Jack swirls lightning around himself before bolting over to Ruby and they both run at max speed and activating their Semblances and Jack's lightning engulfs him as he becomes a pure bolt of Lightning and they burst at the Paladin with blinding speed Ruby's cluster of Rose Petals merges with Jack's Lightning Bolt as they cause a Sonic Boom in speed and crash straight into the Paladin's chest as it causes a massive dent and it falls over.

Ruby:"Meteorstrike!" You and Yang both run at the downed Paladin as you burst upwards high into the air before causing rapid explosions at an angle to cause a Flame tornado to engulf you, Yang then jumps and uses the recoil from her Ember Celica to fly towards your Flame tornado and her hair becomes fiery and send her fist rocketing into your tornado as the Tornado explodes into a massive Fiery Meteor with you and Yang inside it, you feel your Ring burning against your skin as the Meteor's flames turn into a raging blue color. The Meteor blazes down at the downed Paladin, but before the Meteor could hit the Paladin gets up and dodges back with surprising speed. The Meteor ignites against the ground causing a giant explosion to go high into the sky and causing a fire wave to burst from it and knocking back the Paladin and consequently the Team as well. You and Yang emerge from the massive crater caused by the meteor, Yang's eyes are red, obviously annoyed at the fact it got out of the way. Ruby quickly gets up and yells

Ruby:"Firebolt!" You feel your power rising as you build up energy and your eyes change back to Lavender and Blue before your vein-like cracks appear yet again and you explode over to Jack as you hold out your hand as multiple explosions riddle across your hand before the explosions focus and form a potent unstable blue fiery glow in your hand, the fiery glow is sending out mini-explosions across its surface and core, you focus all of your energy onto it as it forms an icy black aura surrounds your palm and an Icy Black core forms in the center of your palm. Jack holds his hand up as a Storm brews over you both and Jack shoots down a massive lightning storm into his hand as the Lightning engulfs his hand. You both burst over at the Paladin as it has no time to dodge to the side as your entire body is engulfed with Flames and Ice and Jack's body is shrouded with Lightning. Jack then merges your Fiery glow with his Lightning and he uses his remaining aura to give you a mini Thunder burst and you immediately burst straight into the Paladin.  

You collide your Fiery glow with the Paladin downwards and the resulting collision causes a HUMONGOUS explosion with Lightning blasting out everywhere and it throws everyone back with the massive shockwave that quickly followed as the air was then rapidly cooled causing all that energy to come rushing out Rubble is thrown everywhere as the Paladin HAS to be gone. After the smoke cleared you see that the Paladin is crushed deeply embedded into the ground as a gigantic crater is formed around it...it seems to be down? Maybe? Anyways you look back to see that the team is looking on in slight shock. You see that the Paladin...still isn't down as it gets back up with it struggling to lift itself as it is covered in ice and most of its defensive and offense capabilities have been either fried or burnt to a crisp, it smoking heavily as well.

Yang wastes no time for it to recover as she jumps on top of it and punches the Paladin repeatedly firing off her Ember Celica as some of the ice starts to melt from the Paladin and it gains more movement due to it and then ends up Throwing up Yang into the air and smashing through a pillar. She slides onto the ground, your eyes widen.

You/Blake:"YANG!"

Ruby:"Don't worry! With each hit she gets stronger, and she uses that energy to fight back! That's what makes her special!" You see Yang get up slowly with her hair glowing, her eyes red...You never realized how terrifyingly beautiful that woman can be...ANYWAYS the Paladin stomps over to her and goes to smash its fist into her. But Yang stops it effortlessly. She punches it with full force and it easily shatters its arm with ice and metal shards flying everywhere. You are SO in love with her right now. It kicks her backwards and flies past you as Ruby yells "Bumblebee!" For some odd reason that name somewhat bothers you in this situation. Blake throws the chain of her Gambol Shroud at Yang and she grabs it. She flings her around so fast that you can hardly believe that the Paladin was able to dodge the drop kick Yang was about to deal. The Paladin shakes off the remaining ice from it and is now fully able to move around again, Yang then goes around for another spin As she goes around for another spin Ruby yells "We have to slow it down!"

Weiss:"And how do you purpose we do that?"

Ruby:"Ice Flower!" Ruby slams the blade of her Scythe into the ground as Weiss places three Ice Glyphs in front of it. When Ruby fires massive ice chunks explode into the Paladin, slowing it down. You look back to Yang to see that she is going SO DAMN FAST THAT THE FLAMES FROM HER HAIR ARE TRAILING BEHIND HER AND SHE LETS GO AND SLAMS HER FIST INTO THE PALADIN AND FREAKIN' DECIMATES IT! Your mouth hangs open as you didn't think you could love her even more BUT YOU WERE SO WRONG! Jack snaps his fingers in your face as you snap out of it before you run over to Torchwick who is seems defenseless.

Roman:"I just got this thing cleaned." Yang reloads her Ember Celica and fires a homing shot at him only to be stopped by...Neo?

You:"Neo?" The rest of the team stares at you curiously as your eyes widen as Neo smiles at you and winks at you as your anger grows and your flames flare across your right side and ice engulfs your left. 

Roman:"Ladies, Gentlemen...Ice Queen. Always a pleasure, Neo if you would?" Neo bows and Yang runs up and hits her...only for both of them to shatter.

You:"...Damn it Neo..." You hear the sound of an Airship leaving and see that Roman and Neo are on it.

Yang:"So, I'm guessing he's got a new henchman..."

Weiss:"I guess she really made our plans...fall apart?" You groan and...you think Jack just straight up broke as he's not responding and his face is buried within his hands

Blake:"No, just no." She walks away

Weiss:"What? But you do it."

Yang:"There's a time and a place for jokes."

Weiss:"Was this not it?"

Yang:"No, it just wasn't very good..."

Weiss:"Well at least I'm trying." She walks away and looks back at you "So... you seem to know who that girl was?"

You:"...Yeah, her name's Neo...we used to be close." You say while still looking off in the direction of the airship. The entire team's just staring at you, your eyes return to its normal color as the Flames and Ice fade away. Jack breaks the awkward silence

Jack:"Hey guys have anyone seen Sun and Neptune?"

Ruby:"I mean, they probably aren't dead." You just begin walking off silently as Yang walks right beside you, look at your bloody back.

Yang:"So...eventful day for you huh?" She just barely touches your back and you flinch in pain

You:"OW! A-and yeah, you can definitely say that."

Yang:"Sorry! Anyways...how'd that happen?"

You:"That seemingly empty warehouse wasn't fully abandoned."

Yang:"God...how many of them were there for you to have taken this much damage?" You flash back to the Amalgamation.

You:"One." Yang looks at you concerned and looks down for a bit, she looks up and tries to smile to make it seem like everything will be fine.

Yang:"Well...that ain't Ominous? U-uh...listen." She holds your hand and looks into your eyes "We're here to protect you, and I will lay down my life for yours and anyone else on this team, understand?" That's exactly what you're worried about...

You:"I would do the same...thank you Yang." You both walk back as you realize that a whole new nightmare has just been unleashed on your team...

Yang:"So I'm guessing you were 'pretty' close to that Neo chick huh?" You remember the kiss at the Warehouse

You:"...I..." Yang looks on worried "Whatever happened in the past between us is gone now, I'm grateful that I have you." Yang smiles and leans her head against your shoulder.

Yang:"Looks like I don't have to worry about her then." You both lightly laugh but in the back of your mind, you know that Yang isn't going to let this go so easily.
