(Volume 1) Chapter 2: Opportunity For A New Life.

(1 Month After The Events Of The Nightclub)

It's rather late at night, you placed in your application to Beacon Academy a while ago, of course you don't think they're going to pick you as A. You've never went to a fighting academy and B. You're only turned 17 last week and C. THE SEMESTER STARTS IN A WEEK! You feel stupid for sending it actually, you guess that Yang got into your head. You're laying in bed just looking at your Scroll, Yang's number is on the screen, you're debating on whether or not you should text her. You muster your courage and type on your scroll

You(Scroll):"Hey, I know it's been a while, and it's late at night and I'm sorry for that but I just wanted to tell you that I turned in my application to Beacon today." You sigh as you turn off your scroll and look up at your ceiling, you hear mumbling across from you, you look over to you see your little brother Jack in his bed across from yours. Poor kid, constantly having night terrors night after night, hot blue electricity has been activated from his Semblance and is now crackling around him due to his stress. You wish you could help but waking him up will just leave him drained for the rest of the day. You feel a vibration from your scroll and look to see Yang responded surprisingly.

Yang(Scroll):"Really!? Awesome! I'm sure you'll get accepted." 

You(Scroll):"I wish I had your confidence."

Yang(Scroll):"C'mon, we both saw that you were pretty great in that nightclub."

You(Scroll):"But you were even better, considering that you trashed the entire place."

Yang(Scroll):"Hah. You helped though. Anyways you're gonna do great I'm sure of it, if you make it in then be sure to call or text me like IMMEDIATELY and even if there's a small chance you don't then call me either way."

You(Scroll):"Alright I'll be sure to do that, well good night!"

Yang(Scroll):"Stay frosty dude. Good night." You smile as you turn off your scroll

You lie awake for a while, you think back to the night of that whole Nightclub incident and the very long lecture from your father that came afterward about how I couldn't go around punching his colleagues and yada yada yada, the following after the incident was rather odd, you went to Torchwick and he talked to you later on, he said that with your Semblance you could become very useful for his gang. You made it clear you wanted nothing to do with his gang, he didn't take it too well. But he didn't do much as some woman in red was there and wanted him for something...the feeling you had when you saw her...you knew that you needed to get as far away from that woman as possible. You would totally leave this thing altogether but you have to protect your little bro, you can't leave him so your father can corrupt him while your gone. Which is going to be problematic if you get accepted in Beacon. Well he's only a year younger than you and quite strong, maybe you could try to get him into Beacon too, just to get away from all the nonsense between your father, the White Fang, and Torchwick's gang. You get an idea and get up from your bed, you quickly change into your regular clothes and shake your brother awake.

You:"Hey Jack, get up." Jack groans as he sits up and the electricity around him goes away.

Jack(Groggy):"What's up (F)?" He rub his eyes sleepily (Jack Description-A:15 turning 16 in 8 months Hair:short black hair with silver tips at the ends/Eye Color: Light blue eyes with silver flecks in them((No he does not have the powers of a Silver Eyed Warrior))/Height: 5'5/ Clothing((Series Start)):Wears a wrinkled flannel button-up shirt with black jeans and a beanie.)  

You:"Do you want to train with me?" Jack looks over at the clock on the wall.

Jack:"Dude it's 2 AM..."

You:"Even better, dad won't protest and we can just slip out." Jack sighs and closes his eyes for a bit

Jack:"Sure." He gets up and surrounds himself with Cosmic blue electricity and his pajamas turn into his regular clothes

You:"I so wish I had your Semblance." He looks at you

Jack:"...You want to have electricity form around you and be able to craft items and have lightning speed? When you're able to have faster speed than me, have massive explosions with your left side, shoot out ice with your right and when you use your semblance with full power you gain the advantage of gaining immense physical power?" You nod

You:"Yep." Jack rolls his eyes

Jack:"You're weird, anyways let's go." You grab your Kitsune from underneath your bed as Jack creates a High Frequency Blade from his electricity. 

You open the window of your room(On the second floor of the house) and you jump out and land on the ground of the sidewalk. You look up as Jack blares down, blue trails of electricity sparks behind him. You look to see that the city is actually quiet for once. 

Jack:"So, we heading towards the usual training spot beside the edge of the town or?"

You:"Actually I was think-" You hear a loud boom go off and look over to see that smoke is going over a building now...great. You look over to Jack "Well change of plans, let's check that out."

Jack:"Let's go." 

You use your right side as you cause small explosions from your feet to dash your way quickly over to where the smoke is coming from. You...see a girl with a red hood fighting off against a bunch of thugs. Huh, that's new, she's defeating them all effortlessly though, you look behind you to see that Jack's finally caught up, his electricity surrounding him as he's out of breath. 

Jack:"God I need to get more control over this." You look back to see...well an Atlesian airship is now hovering over one of the buildings.

You use your combustion side and cause a constant stream of explosions underneath you to propel yourself onto the rooftop of the building. Jack sparks up behind you, you look to see that the Airship's trying to get away now, someone on the airship is firing at the red hooded girl...and now a blond woman...huh. You can't focus on that as now you use your frost side and summon ice to surround your arm as you shoot it out and hit the airship, tearing through it's hull. You stomp the ground with your frost side and a huge wave of sharp ice comes from your foot and it hits the airship from underneath, it tips over before the ice is immediately evaporated as a huge ball of fire hits it from the ship. You can't tell who the person was that did it but damn they're strong, you burst over with your combustion side before getting knocked back by a fireball. You skid along the ground and quickly get up to your feet. Jack immediately sparks on to the top of the airship as his back trails with electricity as multiple lightning blades float behind him before sending them all into the ship. The ship lights up with electricity and the ship is smoking now but you can tell the person in there is pissed now as they swing the ship back and forth and knock Jack off, he falls on the ground and dusts himself off, the airship quickly speeds away, Jack's about to go after it but trips on himself and falls.

Jack:"Damn it!" He gets up as you both watch the airship get away. He sighs and you both look over to where the girl and the woman are now, both seem very confused.

You:"So...any of you want to tell me why that just happened?"

Blonde woman:"All three of you, come with me, now."

Jack:"B-but we just got here?"

Red hooded girl:"Yeah, I was just protecting myself...also CAN I HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH!?" She says while getting close to the woman. You look back to Jack who seems to be kinda...distracted by the red hooded girl. This...is gonna be a long night.

(A While Later)

You and Jack are sitting outside of an interrogation room...so...there's that. You're just worried that they're gonna find out that you and Jack are the sons of a high ranking White Fang member.

Jack:"So...at least we got some training, eh?" You roll your eyes smirking. :"Also turns out that woman was Glynda Goodwitch..." Jack's eyes widen.

You:"Really?"

Jack:"Yep, recognized it was her after a while after seeing her so many times on 'Hottest Huntresses Monthly'."....

You:"..." You look over at him with disappointment.

Jack:"Hey! It's not MY fault that dad keeps those in his office so damn much!"

You:"Whatever, you're a dude, it was bound to happen at some point. Though I recommend staying away from those."

Jack:"I know, I know...on another note, did you see how cute that red hooded girl was?" You look over at you little brother curiously

You:"Oh really, didn't really notice."

Jack:"Well she was like...really pretty." You smile at your naive little bro.

You:"Huh, you should ask her out."

Jack:"What!? No! I don't even know her name!"

You:"Learn it. Then ask her out."

Jack:"Yeeeah, no."

You:"Alright, have fun being single."

Jack:"You're single too, you can't talk."

You:"But I'm not the one looking at 'Hottest Huntresses Monthly' now aren't I?"

Jack:"I-I, I don't- I only- GAH! YOU KNOW WHAT!? WHATEVER!!!" He grumbles angrily to himself as he crosses his arms and looks down. You laugh at his frustration

You:"Ha! I win." All of a sudden the door to the interrogation room bursts open as the red hooded girl runs out with excitement.

Ruby:"I NEED TO TELL YANG ABOUT THIS!!!" You didn't register that at first as she runs out of the door of the building, but then your eyes widen

You:"WAIT HOLD UP, WHA-" Glynda Goodwitch stops you

Glynda:"If you two would come with me, please?" You think in your head for a bit before you and Jack head inside the interrogation room. You both sit down as there's an empty plate on the table...huh.

You:"So uh...any reason as to why we're here?"

Glynda:"Someone here wishes to speak with you." She steps aside as...Professor Ozpin steps out of the shadows.

Jack:"Wait hold up are you...?"

Ozpin:"I am Professor Ozpin, and you are Jack (Last name) and (First Name) (Last Name), correct?" You both nod as he takes a seat across from you.

You:"So, what do you want with us, sir?"

Ozpin:"I saw footage of the fight that occurred on the rooftop. You both have rather outstanding Semblances from what I saw."

Jack:"Meh, wasn't that impressive." Ozpin looks over at Jack

Ozpin:"Well I find that creating a massive ice wall to tear into an Atlesian class airship easily and a flurry of weapons created from electricity is quite impressive if I do say so myself. So I'm going to ask you, why did you both interfere?"

Jack:"I mean, it seemed like something was wrong so we had to see what happened."

You:"Yeah, we couldn't just let something like that happen if there was something we could do about it." Ozpin analyzes the two of you before focusing on Jack for a while.

Ozpin:"Jack, what do you want to become once you're older?"

Jack:"Never gave much thought into it sir, but I considered becoming a Huntsman." Ozpin looks over towards you

Ozpin:"And why's that?"

Jack:"Well with so much hate in how this world treats each other whether it be from how Faunus and Humans treat each other to what Kingdom we're from because of the Great War, I feel that we need to start making a difference rather than not doing anything while the rage and fear of everyone starts to boil until one day it explodes, and I feel like being a Huntsman will give me enough authority for my voice to be heard."

Ozpin:"So you wish to join to change the minds of others?" He asks with a curious look in his eye. Jack nods timidly "Well that's going to be quite the challenge, I'll be eager to see what you have in store...Now moving onto you (F)." He shifts his look over to you "We've received your application... why is it that you, who has never been to a previous training facility and never shown any history of extraordinary fighting skills, want to be in one of the most prestigious academies in Remnant?" Oh crap he knows about the application

You:"Well...I've always wanted to be one, but our parents couldn't spare the time nor money to take us to a training academy, so we decided to train ourselves. And though yes we haven't shown any spectacular feats, we still fully believe that we can rise above the others and become fully fledged Huntsmen."Ozpin leans over and studies you

Ozpin:"And why do you want to become a Huntsman?"

You:"Well, to be honest I find life to be too...regular, I want to go somewhere where I can challenge myself and others to be the best version of themselves and my own self."

Ozpin:"So you want a life of adventure where you can help those around you to be better?"

You:"Yes sir." Ozpin looks back at Glynda, Glynda slowly shakes her head and looking at Ozpin with a stern face. Ozpin smiles as he focuses back on the two of you

Ozpin:"Well you've both just been accepted into Beacon Academy...if you want to join of course." He smiles while readjusting his glasses. Jack looks at you with his eyes lit up in excitement.

You:"We'd be honored." You and Jack both lightly bow in your chairs. Ozpin gets up from his chair and walks away.

(Even LATER That Night)

You haven't talked to dad about the fact that you and Jack are leaving for Beacon in less than a week...that's...going to be rough, and you wouldn't be surprised if he tries to get physical, of course you'd fight back but your Dad's semblance is what worries you, last time he used it on you you got knocked out for a week. Anyways you're back in bed, with Jack actually sleeping for once and not having that constant night-terror. You take out your scroll and text Yang one more time

You(Scroll):"Well, you're probably asleep but I got into Beacon." You sigh as you turn off your phone...then immediately get a notification

Yang(Scroll):"REALLY!?!?!? NO WAY!!!!! OH MY GOD, I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU, CONGRATS!" 

You(Scroll):"Heh, thanks Yang."

Yang(Scroll):"We definitely gotta meet up at Beacon then, I'll be waiting, see you soon! Good night!"

You(Scroll):"Definitely! Good night!" You sigh, no longer worrying about your dad and about Torchwick and about the White Fang and everything...you just close your eyes and just focus on the fact that you'll see Yang again soon...weird how there was that one silver eyed girl who seemed like she knew her...but again that's a worry for another day, for now you just rest and fall asleep with the fact that you're going into Beacon Academy as your new life as a Huntsman will begin.

(Huh well, I guess the next chapter is when the story actually starts to pick up, well next part will be rather long as I'll most likely be combining the rest of chapter 1, and 2, and 3 of the main story as they're rather short episodes, but anyways stay tuned and thanks again for reading!)
