(Volume 1) Chapter 10: Lacking Confidence

(Early Morning|Your POV)

You yawn as you slowly sit up, rubbing your eyes tiredly as you didn't think you really slept last night. You look at...Yang? She's sleeping still and is holding your hand but...when did you get in her bed?...OH THOSE DAMN SLEEP PILLS MAKING YA ALL LOONY! You sigh as you don't really remember the last parts of the night before you fell asleep. Only that Yang seemed really happy to be with you. You smile as you boop Yang on the nose lightly. She slowly opens her eyes as she sits up with massive bed-head. Aww, she looks so cute!

You:"Well, mornin' beautiful." You snicker at her adorably messed up hair

Yang(Tired):"Hey handsome...sleep well last night?"

You:"Good I think, but I honestly don't really remember. Hmm...don't even know how I ended up in your bed." Yang looks at you confused

Yang:"Wait...you don't remember at all?"

You:"Meh, it'll come back eventually but I don't remember much. I only really remember that I was  really happy while I was with you." Yang studies you still smiling.

Yang:"So you don't remember what you said to me?" You look at her confused

You:"No? Mind filling me in?" Yang sighs while slightly blushing

Yang:"Meh, like you said it'll come back to you eventually."

You(Mind):"Well I guess." You glance over to Ruby and Jack who are sleeping all cuddled up together all cute and such.

Yang:"Aww, look at 'em." You and Yang get close to their bed

You:"...This is a wonderful opportunity to cause some major embarrassment for our little siblings." Yang smiles deviously as she takes out her scroll as you do the same.

Yang:"Well time to wake up the two lovebirds." You grab Ruby's whistle and blow into loudly as you completely forgot about Weiss and Blake as everyone shoots awake.

Jack(Groggy):"Ah God...what time is it?" You snap a picture of them as the flash goes off as both Ruby and Jack look at you and Yang.

You:"Aww, look at you two. I'ma send this to mom, she'll loooovvveee seeing that her little baby is growing up." Jack's eyes open wide as he bursts over to you as you hold his head back with one arm as Jack continuously tries to reach for the Scroll with no success. You laugh as Yang has to do the same thing with Ruby as your younger siblings try to stop your elder sibling power.

Jack:"NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!"

Ruby:"You wouldn't ACTUALLY send that picture to dad, right Yang!?" She says as Yang raises her arm with her scroll in it as Ruby tries to jump and reach for it

Yang:"I would totally send this to dad. I'm sure he'd just loooovvvveeee it."

Jack:"COULD YA GUYS JUST STAHP!?"You smile smugly as you look over at Yang who's giving you the same look.

You:"Aw, but where would be the fun in that?"

Weiss:"OH MY GOD, COULD YOU GUYS SHUT UP!?" Weiss yells as she covers her face with a pillow trying to block you guys out. You being distracted gave Jack a prime opportunity as he uses his Semblance to speed his way up and grabs the scroll out of your hand, Ruby does the same as they both quickly erase the photos you took.

You:"Darn you guys and your speed stuff."

Jack:"Darn you two with your older sibling annoyingness."

You:'"...'Annoyingness'?"

Jack:"IT'S A REAL WORD, LOOK IT UP!"

Blake:"I can confirm that that is not a real word."

Jack:"DID I ASK YOU BLAKE!?"

Blake:"Well you didn't specify who you were yelling at to look it up so I figured it was open to everyone."

Jack:"YOU KNOW WHAT!? I DON'T NEED ALL THIS SASS TODAY!" Jack summons in his clothing as he storms off to the bathroom. You all watch him leave...as you all realize he left something quite important.

Weiss:"Did...he just?"

You:"Yeeeeaaaahhhh..." He left without pants. Well he has boxers on but still. It's a solid ten seconds of pure silence before you hear rapid knocking at the door

Jack:"GUYS! GUYS! LET ME IN! I FORGOT MY PANTS!" You all burst out laughing as you grab his pajama pants that are on his bed and also grab your uniform clothes.

You:"Alright I better go change and also help out my genius brother. See ya'll." You open the door as Jack is looking around frantically as you toss his pants at him and ruffle his hair as you close the door behind you.

Jack:"My God thank you." You both walk towards the bathroom as Jack quickly puts on his pants.

You:"Hold up, why DIDN'T you have pants if you were in the same bed with Ruby?"

Jack:"Before I got into her bed, It was hot, took 'em off. Then when Ruby invited me over to her bunk I forgot to put 'em on."

You:"Mmhmm, suuuuurrrreeeeee."

Jack:"What?" You smile smugly

You:"Are you sure you didn't have your pants off for other reasons?" Jack looks at you very confused "Whatever, I'll explain when you're older."

Jack:"Alright weirdo." You and Jack both walk off to the bathroom.

(A Few Weeks Later|Sparing Room)

Well as of right, life at Beacon's been strange as now you've been having weird dreams lately. Involving you and your Ring...in these dreams you feel as if your Ring is speaking to you, training you, and grooming you to become...someone greater. Weird, right? When you wake up from these dreams you feel exhausted yet you feel stronger...(Sidenote: Your height is now 5'9) you'd really like to know what exactly is with this Ring. Anywho, You are next to Yang -who you've gotten very close to in these few weeks with her-, Ruby and Weiss in your combat training class as Jaune and some asshat who pisses you off, Cardin or something like that, are currently sparing...and judging by Jaune's Aura meter...he's definitely not doing well. As the fight is drawing to a close and Cardin is simply taunting Jaune at this point now, you then start to hear whispers in your head slowly calling out to you as you look at your Ring, it's glowing again, you look around and sure enough it seems like Izunia and Caedis are both in this class as well...Caedis is focused on the fight at hand and Izunia has his eyes currently closed...well Ozpin did say he wasn't going to be able to separate your teams from every class but he'd try his best. Izunia's amulet begins glowing vibrantly as he opens his eyes and examines it, after a brief look around he looks directly at you. He smiles smugly. You narrow your eyes at him before turning back to the fight as it seems it's about to end as Jaune's Aura is about to drop into the red. Apparently Cardin said something but you weren't paying attention but it riled up Jaune.

Jaune:"Over my dead-!" He's is cut short as Cardin knees him in the gut, making Jaune drop his sword and fall to the ground in pain. Ouch...Cardin raises his mace and is about to slam it down on Jaune buuuuttt then the buzzer rings, the lights come back on, and Glynda's terrifying voice causes him to stop.

Glynda: "Cardin, that's enough!" You can see the hesitation in Cardin as he walks away as she comes onto the stage, tapping her tablet "Students, as you can see, Mr. Arc's Aura has now dropped into the red. In a tournament-styled duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle, and that the official may call the match." You look at Jaune who's still on the ground, you sigh and whisper to Yang.

You:"I feel like Jaune's been having a rough time here in Beacon." Yang leans over and whispers

Yang:"Yeeeeaaaahhhh, poor dude is getting beat by almost everyone when he fights in a training match."

You:"Also is it just me or does it seem like that Cardin guy is an asshole?" Yang smiles smugly

Yang:"Don't worry, it's not just you." She winks as you both focus back as Glynda turns her head to look at the Jaune as he pulls out his scroll showing his Aura gauge along with the rest of his entire team

Glynda:"Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now. Please try to refer to your Scroll during combat. Gauging your Aura will help you decide when it's appropriate to attack, or when it is better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, now, would we?"

Cardin: "Speak for yourself..." You can barely hear what he said but you still heard it...Aaaaannnnddd you want to punch him badly but nooooo apparently according to Ozpin that's 'not mature' and you should 'refrain from drawing attention to yourself'. But where's the fun in that!? Anywho Glynda begins speaking again.

Glynda:"Remember, everyone, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away! It won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale!"

You:"Aw, darn. I wish I could be in the tournament."

Yang:"Maybe actually get a chess piece." You roll your eyes will smirking

You:"Yeah suuurrreee, I'll get right on that." The bell rings, and everyone starts leaving while you look over to Izunia who's glaring over at Cardin oddly enough. "Well let's go get the others and eat for now."

Yang:"Yaaaaasssss."

(Later|Cafeteria) 

Well you and the rest of the team are in the cafeteria with Team JNPR sitting across from you as Blake is currently reading, Weiss is filing her nails and Ruby is currently terrified as Jack is currently inhaling 20 plates of fried chicken...huh. Anyways you and Yang are sucked into another one of Nora's amazing stories

Nora:"So! There we were, in the middle of the night..."

Ren:"It was day." He yells as he sits with no emotion on his face and holding a coffee cup.

Nora:"We were surrounded by Ursai..." You gasp dramatically

Ren:"They were Beowolves."

Nora: "Dozens of them!" She screams this as she stands up and slams the table.

Ren: "Two of 'em."

Nora:"But they were no match... And in the end, Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of Lien selling Ursa skin rugs!"

You:"That was the greatest story ever of all time Nora!" You and Yang clap as she bows slightly and sits down. Ren sighs

Ren:"Please don't encourage her. She's been having this recurring dream for nearly a month now."

Pyrrha:"Jaune? Are you okay?" You look over at Pyrrha and Jaune to see that Jaune is currently out of it and messing around with his food. He snaps out of it and panicly turns towards you all

Jaune:"Huh? Oh, yeah! Why?"

Ruby: "It's just that you seem a little... not okay..."

You:"Jaune, you do know you can talk to us right?" Everyone at the table is now staring at Jaune. Except for Jack who's looking back at something.

Jaune:"Guys, I'm fine. Seriously! Look!" he holds up a thumb while laughing nervously...he then looks past us as you look behind you to see that Cardin and the rest of his douche team is picking on a Faunus girl, you glance over to Jack and see that he's been staring at this for a while now and seems immensely pissed as sparks start to come from his body.

Pyrrha:"Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the first week of school!" You look back at Jaune.

Jaune: "Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... He just likes to mess around! You know, practical jokes!"

You:"...You really call some of the things he's done to you 'practical jokes'?"

Ruby: "Yeah. He's a bully."

Jaune: (scoffs) "Oh, please! Name one time he's 'bullied' me." You sigh

You:"Well how about the constant knocking your books out of your hand. Cliche yes but still happens. There are the times where he gets you caught in between doors by extending your shield. OH! And I don't know, that good ol' classic 'practical joke' WHERE HE SENT YOU FLYING OFF IN A ROCKET-PROPELLED LOCKER!?" The others are totally focused on him now except for Jack who's still looking back.

Jaune:"I didn't land far from the school!" He says while trying to laugh it off as you groan and look at him disappointed

Pyrrha: "Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask."

Nora: "Ooooh!" she gets up from the table and smiles with a not-entirely-sane grin "We'll break his legs!" You smile deviously

You:"GREAT IDEA!" You look over at Jack "Hey Jack, by any chance in your seemingly infinite pockets do you have a sledgehammer?" You smile but realize Jack looks quite angered. You glance over at what he's staring at and see that Cardin's still bullying that Faunus girl...

You:"Jack,calm down. We can't get into anymore fights." He side-glares at you before exhaling loudly and looks down before you place a hand on his shoulder. You glare at Cardin and you realize that this is the living embodiment of everything your father wanted to destroy...and because of the time you spent on the White Fang now some of that hatred is in you. You and Jack glance back at Jaune as he gets up

Jaune:"Guys, really, it's fine! Besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me; he's a jerk to everyone." You and the others hear Team CRDL's laughter grow louder and hear someone yell in pain. You all look back to see that he's pulling on the poor Faunus girl's bunny ears...aaaaannnndddd now that hatred is coming out in full-force. Jack has lightning emanating around him as you place a hand on his shoulder.

Faunus Girl: "Ow! That hurts!" She yells as Cardin continues yanking on her ear "Please, stop..." Jack begins to get up but Ruby pulls him down. You hold yourself down as your Ring begins glowing

Cardin:"I told you it was real!" You feel your chest ache as vein-like cracks form around your right arm. You stop holding yourself back as you get up and the rest of the table stares at you.

Yang:"(F)?" You walk towards them as your right arm is coated in frost.

Russel:"What a freak!" You grab Cardin's arm and glare at him.

You:"Let her go. Now." You say as your Frost side activates and you lower the temperature of your hand dramatically that's on Cardin's arm and end up giving him severe Frostbite on the area you were holding. He yells in pain and he lets go of her, holding his arm in pain.

Cardin:"GAH! YOU LITTLE-!." He swings his good arm at you as your Combustion activates and you grab his other arm and heat it up dramatically and giving him 1st degree burns. "AGH!" 

You:"Well you now have one side with burns and one side with frostbite. You wanna try messing with her or me again or have you had enough?" Cardin reels his head back...he's gonna headbutt you isn't he? And you assumed correct as the vein-like cracks rush towards your head and your ring shines brightly as Cardin slams against your head and he gets sent flying back into a nearby table and smashes into it. You look at Cardin as his head's bleeding now and he seems to be unconscious...huh. You glare at the others of Team CRDL as they all look at you angrily, Ice Shards shoot from the ground and surrounds them "Do you guys wanna end up like him?" They stand down "I recommend helping him to the Nurse's Office." They nod as they run past you and run off with Cardin as the cracks in your skin fade and you look down at your Ring as it stops glowing. Everyone in the cafeteria is staring at you as you approach the Faunus girl.

Faunus Girl:"T-thank you."

You:"No problem Miss.."you wait for her to say her name, 

Velvet:"O-oh! I'm Velvet Scarlatina."

You:"Well Miss Scarlatina, I'm (F). And I don't think they'll bother you anymore and if they ever do bother you again just come find me, m'kay?"

Velvet:"Y-yeah. Thank you."She walks off and you notice Team ICRS out of the corner of your eye and see that Izunia's...smiling? Well it's like a creepy evil smile but it's still a smile. You sigh and return to your seat like nothing happened as everyone stares at you.

Jack:"Hey, thanks for dealing with him."

You:"Let's just hope he won't remember what happened with that concussion he's gonna have."

Nora:"Meh...you didn't break his legs, I give it a 7/10...eh 6.8/10." You smile while rolling your eyes.

Pyrrha:"Well...though I detest that type of violence, I suppose if you hadn't stopped him then he would continue believing he could get away with these actions." She sighs "Simply atrocious. I can't stand people like him."

Blake:"He's not the only one..." Blake glances at you "Why would you even do that for a Faunus."

You:"My dad's a Faunus and I've grown up with Faunus as friends so seeing them being ridiculed for no reason is just idiotic to me. Not to mention cat ears are pretty cute and awesome." You glance up at Blake's bow as she looks down, blushing ever so slightly. Yang lays her head on your shoulder as you run your fingers through her hair slowly.

Yang:"It must be hard to be a Faunus." She sighs before giving you a kiss on the cheek and smiling, you blush and smile back at her "Thanks for helping out that girl." You smile smugly and look off into the distance, trying to look all heroic

You:"Well it's a job for a big strong hero like me to uh help lovely ladies who are in trouble." You kiss your bicep as Yang laughs as she punches you in the arm playfully.

Yang:"God you are such a dork, I love it." You both laugh and smile while staring into each other's eyes. She closes her eyes and rests her head on your shoulder as you see Jaune who gets up from the table, Jaune looks back at you all and sighs to himself before moving on with his tray table.

You(Mind):"...Well, I hope this will help Jaune in standing up against Cardin." You sigh as you all watch Jaune walk away.

(Chapter's shorter than most of my others one, mostly cause not much really happens in this episode and there's not much I can do for the episode, and next episode is too long to combine both of them so this'll have to do for now. But the next part should be out soon. Peace ya'll.)
