Even though he was not part of our pack and we didn't know his name, Theo and I decided to bury the rogue on our land, under a tree, by the lake on the next day. As we walked back to the pack house my thoughts went over at how brutally he was killed, his throat was slashed open and his guts were spilling out when they found him that morning. I shiver a little as the image imprints in my head.

I see three figures standing by the pack house as we walk up to it. I leave Theo's side and go to them, ''Hey guys, you left the party without saying goodbye yesterday,'' I state. They all give me wary looks before Hazel speaks up, ''I'm sorry, I didn't realize we needed your permission to leave Luna Athena,'' she says with spite and I stare at them shocked.

''You guys.... I...'' I start to say but Cathy interrupts me, ''I don't know about you two but I've got a class to teach, ''she says and walks away as the other two follow her. I see Rachel making her way towards the pack hospital and Hazel goes to the training area. I'm left standing out there alone, looking like a fool.

I go up to Theo's office in the pack house and slam the door in irritation as I walk in. ''Well aren't you a ray of sunshine,'' exclaims Charles sarcastically from his desk and I shoot him a glare. ''I managed to piss off the only girl friends I've had in a long time.'' I say dejectedly as I plop on one of the couches.

''What did they say to you love?'' Theo asks as he looks up at me from the pile of papers on his desk. ''That's the thing you guys, they all just stared at me, Hazel spitefully jabbed me and they all walked away. I know they are mad at me for not telling them that I was your mate, but they should understand my position shouldn't they?'' I question as I look at them both.

''How do you expect them to understand if you don't explain it to them love? They aren't mind readers. You need to go to them and explain why you did what you did. I 'm sure they'll understand then,'' He advises. I hold his gaze for a few seconds and nod in understanding.

''So what are you guys doing?'' I ask as I walk over to Theo's chair and peer over his shoulder. ''Well love, these are papers for the pack medical supplies that need clearing, I will be going to the pack hospital later to speak to Devin about it,'' He replies as an idea pops up in my head. ''Tell you what, why don't I go to the hospital and re-confirm this with Devin, that way I can speak to Rachel too and try to reconcile,'' I conclude and see Theo smiling at me, ''thought you'd never ask love,'' and he hands me the list.

I'm about to walk out the door when Bruce rushes in panting, '' Alpha, Beta; we have a lead on the rogue murder! One of the guys thinks he saw something,'' He says quickly. Theo and Charles are immediately on their feet and out of the door, ''will talk during lunch love,'' Theo says hurriedly and I nod.

I make my way to the hospital and get lost a few times too since I haven't been there before. Turns out it's not too far away from the pack house. The hospital is a fairly big building and is located on a secluded part of the pack. As I walk inside I see some nurses going about their daily jobs. I try looking for Rachel but couldn't see her. Some nurses bow in respect as they recognize me as their Luna and I smile in return. I continue walking until I get to Devin's office. I knock twice and hear a muffled 'come in'

I walk in and see Rachel and Devin discussing something and they both look up. ''Hey,'' I say and give them a small wave. ''Hii Athena, what brings you here?'' Devin asks while flashing me a smile and I catch Rachel elbowing him. ''Ohh sorry; I mean Luna; how can we be of service to you,'' He corrects himself as he stands up and bows his head a little. ''You don't have to do all that, you don't even have to call me Luna,' I say with a wave of my hand.

Devin smiles and gestures for me to take a seat as Rachel attempts to leave his office. ''Rachel?'' I call out, ''I'm really sorry for everything and I want to make it up to all three of you, I want to explain everything to you guys. Please just give me a chance,'' I practically beg her.

I see her soften a little as Devin speaks up, ''I think you guys have a lot to talk about, maybe you can finish it up and then find me later,'' He voices. ''No Devin, I'm here on pack business too. If you don't mind waiting for 5 minutes, I'll be with you shortly,'' I say and walk out grabbing Rachel with me.

''What now?'' she asks in displeasure and I sigh, ''Rachel please, if you guys ever considered me your friend, just please come to the lake in the afternoon at 2:00. I will explain everything to you, whatever you guys need to know. Please tell this to Hazel and Cathy too. I will be waiting,'' I say and walk inside Devin's office.

''They seem pretty mad at you Athena,'' He states. ''They have every right to, I hid an important truth from them,'' I say dejectedly and he gives me a pitiful look. ''Anyway, we will have the pity party later; right now we have work to do,'' I say and he chuckles, ''Let's get to it then.''

We go through some files and do a stock take of all the supplies. I take inventory of everything the hospital needs and by the time I'm done its almost noon. I walk out I see a man getting carried in on a stretcher. Well that looks bad as I eye his dislocated arm. ''What happened?'' Devin asks worriedly. ''He got caught between a crossfire during training and dislocated his arm doctor,'' One of the guy replied. ''looks like a fractured arm, will have to take him in,'' he declares as he gets into work mode. ''I'll take your leave then,'' I say and walk out of the hospital to head home.

As soon as I walk in, I notice Theo and Charles talking to Noah and another man who looked slightly older than the rest. ''Hello,'' I nod politely to him as he stands up and bows. ''Luna,'' he says respectfully, ''It is an honor to officially meet you. I'm Ray the third in command,'' he extends his hand and I shake it in exchange. ''Nice to meet you too Ray,'' I reply.

''So what have we got?'' I ask them all. One of the guards who was on cell duty last night, says he saw something blue but wasn't sure because he was half asleep and that might have been a dream. ''Something blue.... did he happen to mention if it was an icy blue color or maybe if it looked like a pair of eyes?'' I ask as they all turn to look at me. Theo speaks up ''I asked him the same thing love, but the guard thinks he hallucinated and we couldn't get much out of him.''

''Okay, thank you.'' I say to Ray and he nods his head and leaves the house, Noah soon follows him and now it's just the three of us. ''This could be the stalker you guys,'' I speak up. '' I don't think so Athena, it could also just be a refraction of the moonlight,'' Charles replies. ''and what if it is Charles? it could be a lead,'' I state and he just shakes his head and walks out. ''What? no cocky response this time?'' I say behind him and he slams the door shut. ''What's up with him?'' I question Theo.

He looks at me warily and replies, ''Charles, doesn't deal well with death. He lost his parents years ago and it took me a lot to bring him back to normal. He was on the verge of committing suicide and it took me a lot of convincing to drag him away from the lake where he wanted to drown himself.''

''Oh my god!'' I gasp in shock and run out of the house to follow Charles. I find him at the front door of his house about to walk in. ''Charles, wait,'' I call and he turns to look at me.

''I'm so sorry Charles, I didn't know. Theo just told me.'' I say with a sad look on my face. ''It's okay Athena,'' He replies but I continue, '' no it's not, Charles. I'm sorry if I said anything that hurt you, I really am.'' I whisper as my eyes begin to water. 'gosh he's been through a lot; I feel like a jerk for behaving badly with him.'

He immediately pulls me into a hug, ''hey cookie, don't cry. These are all matters of the past. I have now moved on, it still hurts and I haven't forgotten about them, they were my parents after all.'' He replies softly and I hug him tighter.

''If you ever need to talk you know where to find me. I'll be there for you Charles, always'' I state. ''I will Athena, now go back to your mate before he decides to hunt me down.'' He jokes as I wipe the tears of my cheeks and snort a laugh. ''Piggy,'' He adds. ''I'll let you get away with it this time Chip,'' I reply and walk back to our house.

''You okay?'' Theo asks as I walk in and immediately hug him. ''Yeah, I just had a heart to heart with Charles, we're cool now,'' I reply and I pull away from him. ''Good girl,'' he says and pats my head then walks towards the front door.

''Did you just pat my head?!'' I exclaim, ''what am I 12?'' and he laughs ''I don't know, did I love?'' he smirks and leaves. 'What just happened.'

It's now 10 minutes past two and I'm standing at the lake alone, neither of my 3 friends have shown up. If I can even call them friends now. I decide to wait another 20 minutes. If they do not show up by 02:30 I'll just leave.

I zone out as usual as I stare into the horizon when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to look and find 3 faces staring at me intently and a smile forms on my face. ''thank you for coming you guys, means a lot.'' I say in an honest voice. Cathy nods in response as Rachel mumbles a hmm, Hazel looks at me blankly having not said a word.

''So I asked you guys to come here because I wanted to apologize to you all. Yes, I should have told you that I'm Theo's mate but I was scared of how you guys will react. I didn't want you guys to treat me like royalty just cause I'm your alpha's mate. I just wanted friends for once, people who would treat me as an equal and you guys did. Guess it all backfired'' I conclude and give them a nervous chuckle.

'Oh I'm tearing up now, come here you,'' Cathy cries as she pulls me in to hug. Hazel and Rachel soon follow and we are all huddled under the tree. We break apart and ask them, '' So I'm forgiven right? And they all nod their heads in unison.

''So now that we are back together, pun intended,'' Jokes Rachel, ''how about we make a pact where we promise to tell each other everything. No secrets at all.'' She declares and we all exchange looks. ''I think it's a good idea, what say guys?'' asks Cathy.

Hazel speaks up first, ''If... umm.... if we are doing this then there is something I'd like to confess,'' she says and we all urge her to continue. ''So here goes, Noah and I are trying for a baby,'' She announces.

''That is so great, Hazel. I hope he scores!'' I say enthusiastically and they all look at me wide eyed. ''oh shit, sorry that came out the wrong way.'' I utter as I cover my mouth but Hazel just laughs and soon we all join in. ''we'll be having little warrior babies in the pack,'' Cathy squeals as she hugs her.

''Well now that the cat's out of the bag, let's get to the pact'' Rachel says and we form a circle while holding our hands. ''Uhhh guys'' I speak up, ''there is something I need to tell you, or rather show you.'' I voice and three inquisitive heads turn towards me. ''There's more? ''Hazel asks as she raises her eyebrow in surprise. ''ahem yeah, but I need you guys to promise me that you will not tell anyone and I mean anyone at all. Not even your mates.'' I profess.

''What is it Athena, you're scaring me. Just show us'' Cathy says and they nod. ''it's okay Athena, just show us.'' Rachel urges and I nod as I go behind the tree and call my wolf forward. I transform and walk out to stand in front of them.

''Your wolf is an Alpha!'' Hazel gasps. ''Oh my god Athena,'' Rachel says as she covers her mouth in shock while Cathy look at me with wide eyes. I stay like that for a little while and go transform back, as I walk out they all hug me. 

''It's okay Athena, we won't tell; right guys?'' Hazel looks at them and they all nod. ''Promise we won't,'' Cathy swears and I nod in response. ''You guys are the best!!'' I squeal as we stand in the circle once more and make the pact.

Unbeknownst to us, a certain someone had seen everything and as we walked back towards the houses and an evil plan formulates in his head as he plots his step to revenge.

''An Alpha female huh?'' he muses as he scratches his chin in thought. ''Things are about to get interesting around here.''
