I watched two teens gossip over the new arrival of gossip. The whole world was talking about the newest information on the drug. This 'miraculous drug' was something mind blowing, and I couldn't even comprehend it. The drug was being made in some fancy, tech lab up in Britain. I could honestly care less, but the world was going crazy over it.

The news was running rabid on the story of a 'Live Longer Drug,' which seemed a bit too good to be true. The whole idea of living longer is great, but there has to be some gruesome catch.

I caught up to the brown headed boy in front of me and slug him on the shoulder. "What was that for Rose?" Louis rubs his shoulder, and sends me a playful glare. My response is simply a shrug and a light smirk. "All of this gossip is starting to give me a headache." He turns to stare at everyone lined by lockers, whispering violently.

"I couldn't agree more. I'm so tired of hearing about the 'miracle drug.' Something like that is bound to have some sort of kickback." I roll my eyes and continue our journey to Government class.

"You're right. We're probably going to be watching the news in class, since this is,"he pauses and mocks our teacher,"making history." Louis slumps over and sighs. "I hate Government Rose. Can we just skip?"

"No Lou, we'll get in trouble. I hate it too, but I guess we'll have to suck it up." His frown droops even lower at my response. He try's to give me the puppy eyes, which I quickly shut down.

Louis is probably the hottest guy in school, but he honestly doesn't realize it. His brown hair is always ruffled perfectly and his skin is accompanied by a light tan. He doesn't have a six pack, like everyone thinks that guys should have, but he's nice and toned. Louis is my best friend in the entire world and I don't know what I'd do without him. I've had a tiny crush on him forever, but that's not going to get in the way of our friendship.

"Ok class, we'll be watching the news today!" Mr. Henry clicks the tv on and looks at us for a response. "Class why are we watching the news?" He raises his hands for us to speak.

"History is being made." We say in unison. Louis and I make eye contact and snicker at the old man.

The news was anything but good about the 'Live Longer Drug.' The picture was of the lab on fire, along with people running around. My heart quickly starts to beat faster and sweat starts to run down my forehead. It's fine. Nothing is wrong.

Mr. Henry quickly shuts the tv off and sits back down in his chair. Part of me knows he's upset by the news. His wife was deathly ill, and he was willing to risk anything to purchase the drug for her, once it was available for the public.

My head started to spin, because something about the scene on tv didn't feel right. I felt sick and afraid, but I didn't exactly know why. Louis and I made eye contact once again, but this time there were no jokes to be made. We both were scared of something we didn't know was happening.
