#7||After Curfew
A/N: TBH I wrote this when I was SICK AF.
Edit: I'm okay now, though.
And yes, before you ask any questions, Gilbert's yellow chick can fly. Pierre is also Francis's dove's name. And Flying Mint Bunny can talk.
...
Sakura
...
"So what's next on your schedule, Alice?" Sakura asked her friend in the school courtyard on a Thursday morning. Both of them had skipped lunch to do their homeworks and essays. Alice adjusted her glasses against her nose and read her notebook.
"Let's see here...I have Defense Against the Dark Arts. After that, Transfiguration," she said. "Bloody marvellous."
Sakura shrugged. "Oh, really? I have Defense Against the Dark Arts with you, then. After that...oh look it's Herbology." Sakura suddenly paled and nudged Alice's shoulder. "You do know that...Defense Against the Dark Arts...the-"
Alice raised an eyebrow. "The Bad Friends Trio? Oh, I've heard of them, alright. Nasty bunch o' wizards, if you ask me."
"They targeted me twice for their nasty tricks..." Sakura shuddered at the memory.
"People like them ought to be expelled." Alice continued to do her essay with a look of concentration on her face.
Sakura leaned back against the base of a tree trunk. "Agreed, but sometimes I think that they're good people."
Alice's green eyes widened in surprise. "What?"
Sakura recalled the memory and nodded her head. "It's true. I remember them during my first year..."
.
"Hey, this looks interesting!" An albino with a crooked grin and messy hair commonly known as Gilbert pointed towards the moving staircase. "Best out of three, when the staircase moves the first to stumble or fall pays up."
"I thought you would've come up with some more interesting penalties, Beilschmidt, aren't you German?" His Spanish friend Antonio fiddled with a tomato in his palms.
Francis grinned at Antonio's statement. "Hey now, mon ami, that's stereotyping."
"And I'm not German," Gilbert turned to look at Antonio and mockingly placed a hand on his chest. "Why, you wound me! I'll have you know that I'm Prussian!"
Antonio rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, Gil."
"It's true! - ow, Francis, why'd ya land on me?" as Gilbert said that, the staircase suddenly moved towards the other side of the tower, causing the trio to stumble as they clung to each other for support.
"Aha! I win!" Antonio did a small, impromptu victory dance as he smiled down upon his friends.
"Oh, great, and we know what Toni's gonna ask for," Gilbert fixed his robes as he and Francis exchanged worried looks. They both anticipated what Antonio would want.
"Tomatoes!" Antonio smiled happily as he continued to dance like a little child, accidentally hitting a girl with neck-long black hair and soft, brown eyes. The girl glared at them - Antonio especially.
"You're not allowed to be outside of the dorms after curfew!" the girl whispered. "And you're all being too loud!"
Antonio's smile faltered. "Lo siento. And what are you doing out here?"
The girl folded her arms across her chest. "I'm looking for my pet cat Temmie. My brother Kiku is going to be sad when he realizes Temmie is missing."
"You're risking detention..." Francis's blue eyes were wide. "...For a cat?"
"It's something worthwhile!" the girl scoffed. "And what are you three doing here?"
"Just trying to kick each other's ass," Gilbert and Francis bumped their fists together.
The girl sighed. "Can you help me look for Temmie? If you do, I promise I won't tell anyone you three were here."
.
"Wait, so you spent time with them?" Alice interrupted Sakura. "Are you out of your mind?"
"That's not the point," Sakura snapped. "Let me continue."
.
"Are you sure?" Francis rubbed his chin. "I don't think we should trust her..."
"Nah, man, free chance to escape detention for once in our lives? Hell yeah, count us in!" Gilbert placed a finger over Francis's lips to silence him.
"Francis could be right," Antonio tossed the tomato in the air and caught it. "Remember what happened to Camille before when she said she "wouldn't tell anyone"?"
Gilbert's smile faltered. "Oh yeah. Hell, Camille's too smart for her own good."
"But I'm different from Camille," the girl's expression softened. "I just want to find Temmie. It's not my fault I care for my brother."
"Aw, can't we just help her?" Gilbert pleaded. "I mean, look at her man, she's adorable...I'd also do anything for my lil' bro Luddy. And wasn't Kiku the Japanese guy with the katana?"
"Merde, you're right," Francis bit his lower lip.
"Besides," Gilbert winked, "we'll have our way with her when she's older."
Francis and Antonio both gaped at Gilbert. "Elizabeth will low-key murder you for saying that." Antonio said.
"So what's the plan now, mon ami? Should we help her?" Francis asked Antonio and Gilbert. Gilbert immediately nodded, while Antonio rolled his eyes.
"If she promises not to tell anyone," Antonio pocketed his tomato. "I guess we could."
"So where did you last see Temmie, mon cher?" Francis asked.
The girl swept stray strands of hair behind her ear. "Um...I was carrying Temmie in the Great Hall during lunch and handed him over to Emma."
"Ah, the first-year girl with the green ribbon and the waffles?" Gilbert's little chick Gilbird suddenly flew into sight. "Oh hey, Gilbird, what's up?"
"Then what happened?" Antonio asked.
"Emma rubbed Temmie's neck and suddenly felt the need to go to the bathroom. And so she carried Temmie in her arms towards the girls' bathroom." The girl paused. "A-And I followed her. Emma must've dropped him somewhere near the girls' bathroom."
"So you think your cat's there? Then let's go look for him now," Francis said as he brought out his wand and whispered, "Lumos." A small spark that acted as a light shot out from the tip of Francis's wand, illuminating the faces of the four students.
Gilbert looked at Francis as if he was insane. "Dude, are you crazy? Mr. Filch could catch us! Do you want to get in detention for the eight time this year?"
"Hell no, of course I don't. But..." Francis looked back and forth between Gilbert and the dark-haired girl. "Well, what other sources of light can we use?"
"Gilbird can see through the dark, right?" Antonio asked Gilbert, whose pet chick was chirping happily due to sitting down on Gilbert's soft hair.
Gilbert nodded. "Yeah. Gilbird's awesome. Aren't you, buddy?"
The yellow chick chirped in agreement.
"So we all go to the girls' bathroom together...and if Temmie's not there, we'll split up," the girl said.
"What about Moaning Myrtle?" Antonio asked.
The girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Who's Moaning Myrtle?"
"The ghost of a girl who died in the girl's bath," Antonio replied. "She also visits the boys' bathroom from time to time and she's very annoying."
Gilbert sighed in exasperation. "I remember."
"Doesn't it seem suspicious if the three of us go in together? I say, uh...what's your name, fraulein?" Gilbert pointed a pale finger towards the girl's direction.
"I'm Sakura."
"Right!" Gilbert snapped his fingers. "I say Sakura go in alone and ask Myrtle if she's seen anything, while we check out the areas surrounding the girls' bath. Oh, and Gilbird will send us a signal and chirp if Filch or his filthy cat Mrs. Norris is near."
"I don't want to clean the trophy cases again," Francis grumbled. "The dirt is treacherous!"
"Jeez, stop being such a drama king, Frenchy," Gilbert said. "C'mon, let's look for Temmie!"
.
"Then what happened after that?" Alice asked while Flying Mint Bunny was playing around her lap.
"Oh, we all got in detention - Gil accidentally sneezed and caught the attention of Mrs. Norris," Sakura chuckled. "But we found Temmie in the girls' bathroom and made Moaning Myrtle swear that she wouldn't tell a teacher."
"They have the heart to help out a student?" Alice stood up and smiled to herself. "Huh. They may not be so bad after all."
"Shouldn't you be getting to class now?" Flying Mint Bunny said. "You're going to be late, Alice."
"Oh, right. I almost forgot," Alice said while offering a hand to help Sakura get up. "Sakura? Would you like to come with me?"
Sakura took her hand and shouldered her schoolbag. "Gladly."
